00:00And we take a look at the tail of the tape for our opening contest here between Rico Masuda and Michele Banquez.
00:13We see Masuda enjoying the height and reach advantage here tonight.
00:18The power puncher from right here in Tokyo with his senior, his idol, seated ringside on commentary on the Japanese feed.
00:28A lot of pressure for Masuda here tonight, to say the very least.
00:32Absolutely.
00:33And what you're going to see, what you should see tonight from these two is you've got a couple guys who are sort of come-forward sluggers.
00:39Michele Banquez is not reckless at all.
00:41He's not tactless.
00:43He's a tactical, technical, smart fighter, but he's a come-forward slugger.
00:47But, again, the difference between the two of them is that Masuda has that numbing punching power.
00:55And Banquez is going to have to find some type of way to account for that.
00:58An absolute eraser of a left hand.
01:02See cock near his chin there for Rico Masuda.
01:05And he feels that his power has only been elevated.
01:10Morgan, much has been made in the Japanese press of the fact that Masuda, over the last couple of fights, has been eating wild game.
01:15Okay.
01:16Before his last fight, he ate bear, and leading up to this fight, he's been eating venison.
01:21And he feels, in his words, that it fills him with the overpowering feeling of wildness.
01:27Now, venison, we know, it's documented.
01:30Oh, a massive left hand.
01:34Rico Masuda lives up to the billing.
01:38And I don't know that Banquez will be continuing.
01:42He will not.
01:43Now, Corey, we have yet another knockout where one punch produces two knockdowns.
01:51And we didn't even get through our pre-fight anecdotes before he unleashed God's left hand.
01:57And Michel Banquez, as we were saying, was going to have to account for it, and he couldn't.
02:01I think venison sales just went up in the Japanese boxing community.
02:09But what I was going to say is it's well documented that venison is extremely nutritionally dense.
02:14Here we go.
02:17Straight over the top.
02:25And when Masuda hits you that cleanly, that flush, there's not a lot you can do about it.
02:31And I think the question for many of his opponents going forward isn't going to be,
02:37can you take his punch for 12 rounds?
02:38Because most people can't.
02:39The question is going to be, can you avoid taking that punch for 12 rounds?
02:45Only one man thus far has been able to handle that from Rico Masuda.
02:52It's also not a coincidence, Corey, that the only fight Masuda has lost is the one that has gone the distance.
02:57And, of course, that fight against Sayu Satsumi, who went on to win the WBA title just a couple fights later.
03:05And Masuda doesn't hide the fact that he's angling for a rematch.
03:08And we have the time of one minute, 20 seconds, and round number one.
03:13Our armory reaches it.
03:15And he's the number one way to knockout.
03:19Rico Masuda!
03:22The gods left, reincarnated.
03:31It strikes again, Rico Masuda, with a one-punch knockout of Michel Banquez.
03:42Adding to an already incredible highlight reel that he's been building.
03:47And as you can see...
