00:00You know, the scene that probably a lot of people are reaching out to you about and talking about
00:04is that scene in episode eight, I believe, when you find out that Georgia is actually not pregnant
00:10and it causes some really irreparable damage between the two of them.
00:13But that is a very intense scene.
00:15Can you kind of walk me through what it was like preparing for that, shooting that?
00:19Yeah.
00:20Sharon, our director, and I met first and walked through it.
00:25I was very, as the person, Scott.
00:28Yeah.
00:28As a fan invested in the show, resistant to hitting the wall.
00:33I was very like, this is, I can't do this.
00:36We can't.
00:37Paul, Paul can't do that.
00:38Paul can't do this.
00:39And I think that's me, like, as a fan going, Paul can't do this.
00:42And she said, we're doing it and it has to be done.
00:46But it's coming out of hurt.
00:48It's not out of anger.
00:50And we really tried to utilize that in that scene and keep a lot of his frustration down and a lot more of his broken heart come out.
01:01And the moment that actually, I think, clicked for me the most was in that scene.
01:06And Georgia says the words, I can't trust you to Paul.
01:11And Paul has been begging her to trust him since season one to open up and be honest with him.
01:18And I would love if somebody would put a reel together or a TikTok together.
01:22All the times Paul asked Georgia to be honest with him, she looks him in the eyes and says, no more lies.
01:28No more secrets.
01:29No more lies.
01:30No more secrets.
01:32And in that moment, she says, I can't trust you.
01:34And he doesn't understand it.
01:35And you hear me yell, why, off camera.
01:37And that was encouraged by them on set.
01:38Like, just be over each other.
01:40Be talking.
01:41Be yelling over each other.
01:42All these things.
01:42Which a lot of times on a show, they're asking you, please give each other space for sound and all these other things.
01:47That was a messy scene and it was a messy day.
01:49But we did not do too many takes of it.
01:52We were so prepared.
01:55I get a little, working across from Brienne over the first couple of seasons and in that relationship, that day was very hard.
02:03But how can you not give everything when you have a partner in a scene like that that's giving so much back to you?
02:09So I just know I got to meet that bar.
02:12Sharon, our director, was incredible.
02:15And I think I have a picture of the three of us all in an embrace after we called cut on the entire scene.
02:22It was just so emotionally charged.
02:26And we felt really good about it leaving that day, even though the content is really rough.
02:31I guess it's on TikTok everywhere.
02:32Sure. Well, it stays with you.
02:34Because it's not even like so much, it is obviously hitting the wall, but like the way that Paul reacts afterwards, you know, hands up, like not going to hurt you.
02:41And you can see like George's PTSD coming back.
02:44It's immediate regret.
02:46It's immediate regret for Paul in that moment.
02:48And he never, ever meant to hurt her.
02:51That was never his intention.
02:53But he is somebody who wants a family and he didn't know that before he met her.
02:59He is somebody who had a family that he never had before he met her.
03:03He is somebody who loves Austin and Jenny and has stepped in and said, I will be there for them as a father figure.
03:10And that's a really tough thing to do, to invest in.
03:14And he did it.
03:15And I know that because of my own personal life.
03:17I have a stepfather who came into my life at six years old and said, you are not my blood, but I will be your father.
03:23And we tried to bring some of that to Paul.
03:25And so the breaking of all of that with a lie of being pregnant was just, he's, he's out of his body at that point a little bit, but I'm not saying he was right.
03:37I'm not condoning the action, but definitely I can see what put him there in that moment.
