00:28We have guns, and I'm afraid that the guns will end up being used.
00:32I don't know why we have guns.
00:35What are those guns for?
00:37Are they to shoot protesters?
00:38I mean, there's no reason to be here with the National Guard.
00:42The president of the United States is a cruel, this honorable human being.
00:47We'll just assume they shoot somebody down.
00:49But I don't want that to happen.
00:51I do not want, I want the elected officials to do everything that we can to dissuade them from what they're doing.
00:58They've targeted our city.
01:00This is a sanctuary city, and Trump is after us.
01:04And so I want the people to hit the streets and to show that we care.
01:09I want all of the elected officials out here.
01:11I want the crowds to grow and grow and grow.
01:15We learned a lot in the civil rights movement about how to use our voice that's guaranteed to us by the Constitution of the United States.
01:23And I'm hopeful that that will happen.
01:24And I'm hoping that we, as elected officials, will use all of the power that we may have in order to make sure that people are just not mistreated and treated improperly.
01:35Have you ever seen something like this before, where Congress people are not being allowed in?
01:39No, as a matter of fact, even in the recent problem that was in New Jersey, where they had a bit of a problem with who was supposed to be able to go and who was not, the mayor was not, didn't have the authority.
01:54But the three members of Congress who were there had the authority to go in and see what was going on at a detention center.
02:02You mentioned guns.
02:03You mentioned, you know, the people were...
02:04I want the press to focus on the guns.
02:07I want the press to show the guns so people can understand what kind of a situation we're in where guns are being brought into our city.
02:16The National Guard being called in and standing watch at a detention center and looking at our protesters as if somehow they are violating the law.
02:28They are not.
02:29There are peaceful protesters outside.
02:31And I am afraid that one of those young people might get upset, or might something go wrong, and those guns will go off.
02:41A gun will go off.
02:42Those guns are not to be here, frightening and intimidating our people and anybody in the city.
02:50What's your message to the White House?
02:51My message to the White House is, Trump, I wish I could tell you you should be ashamed, but you have no shame.
02:57You're a dishonorable, dirty, cruel, crooked human being.
03:02And you have tried to intimidate the city of L.A. You don't like us. We're a sanctuary city. And if you had anything right in your head, you would call it off. But you're not going to call it off. I know what you want. You want martial law. You want to be able to use the power of the presidency to show that you can do whatever you want to do.
03:23And so we don't want any martial law here. We don't need it. We don't need any guns here. And if I thought for one minute that you would change your mind, then I would say, please change your mind.
03:35But it's going to take the people in huge numbers telling you, you better change your mind because this is not going to work.
