Glasgow is turning into New York for the new Spider Man.

00:00Glasgow is said to stand in for New York in the new Spider-Man 4 movie, production for which
00:04is taking place this summer. The Marvel Cinematic Universe is set to welcome back its friendly
00:09neighbourhood Spider-Man, and it turns out his neighbourhood is Glasgow city centre.
00:14Spider-Man Brand New Day, stated for release on the 31st of July 2026, will be the fourth
00:20movie for Tom Holland's Peter Parker, following the events of Spider-Man No Way Home, released
00:26in 2021. Zendaya will also reprise her role as MJ, with Sadie Sink, known for her character
00:32Max in Stranger Things, also joining the cast. The film will be directed by Destin Daniel Cretton,
00:39and is expected to delve deeper into Peter's college life post-multi-universe chaos. Glasgow
00:45is set to play a starring role in the Hollywood blockbuster, while filming planned for Bothwell
00:50Street, St Vincent Street, Waterloo Street and Oak Street through to Richmond Street. Scenes
00:55will involve vehicles on the road and will require the closure of areas in mid-August.
01:00George Square, though currently closed for renovation, is actually expected to be part
01:05of filming plans. Production is scheduled to begin in the UK this month, and is expected
01:10to be concluded by October. Tom Holland has expressed enthusiasm about the script, sharing
01:16that him and Zendaya were bouncing around the living room after reading it. This is the latest
01:21production to film in Glasgow, following on from JJ Abrams' latest blockbuster, also due
01:26to film this summer. The extent of road restrictions have not been confirmed yet by Glasgow City
