In March 2025, police in Groton, Connecticut, made a terrible discovery. A suitcase was found

near a cemetery. Inside was the dead body of a woman named Suzanne Wormser, 58 years old.

The suitcase had likely been there since February, but no one noticed it for weeks.

Suzanne had been missing since December 2024. Her family reported her missing in April when

they realized something was wrong. Police went to her home and spoke with Donald Koffel,

a 68-year-old man who lived with her. At first, Koffel said he didn't know anything,

but after police found blood and a baseball bat with hair inside the apartment,

and after a witness came forward, he changed his story. Koffel admitted he hit Suzanne with the bat.

He kept her dead body in the apartment for days before cutting it up. Then, he put part of her

body in a suitcase and left it in the woods near the cemetery. He was arrested and charged with

murder, tampering with evidence and improper disposal of a body. He is now in custody on a

$1 million bond, but is also being treated in a hospital because he has cancer. Police say this
