00:00Hello everyone, welcome to Delgated Wade's PumpTrack promotional video.
00:04In this video you'll see clips of us that scale find parts over in Edinburgh.
00:08As well in this video we're also going to try and explain the benefits of PumpTrack
00:12and also speak to a few people who are in the industry.
00:14My name is Ewan Gray, I've been spearheading the project this far
00:18and I want to thank you all for your support.
00:20I want to especially thank the people at Delgated Community Trust and their expertise.
00:30How did you learn from my dad?
00:48I'm from my dad, so, well, yeah, my dad rode BMX when he was younger,
00:54so when he was like 16 or something and then he sort of fell away from it
00:58and then when I was about four my brother started BMX racing
01:04and then I obviously wanted to join in, so I had to learn to ride a bike first.
01:12It's really cool actually.
01:14One thing I've found is because I've always rode in different disciplines,
01:20I've never really found a niche sort of thing,
01:24whereas with PumpTrack there's a good squad of us that always go up to Catherine Bray's
01:28like maybe 10, 15 of us that are just constantly up there.
01:32We've even got a Facebook group and things.
01:36You feel like you can talk to anyone, it's just a good vibe.
01:38It's just a good vibe.
02:06What do you think?
02:08Pre-Covid 100%, but then obviously the pandemic's had a massive impact on everyone.
02:14What do you think?
02:16Because everyone can ride them, like my dad's 53 and he's still flying around them.
02:22Like I had my godson, he's just turned three or four or something like that on a wee balance bike,
02:30he's whizzing around it and yeah, anyone can ride them and it's just a case of getting yourself to one
02:36and then you can do what you like, you can go fast, you can go slower, you can do jumps or tricks, whatever.
02:43Like you can do, endless possibilities, aren't they?
02:45Yeah.
02:47My friend has stopped smoking and stopped smoking weed because of it.
03:01Like he's just like, he saw like the health benefits and he felt that he was getting fitter, but it was just the smoking was like holding him back.
03:19And I'm sure that has changed many lives. I'm sure it's like, sort of got people to screw their heads on a wee bit.
03:27The thing I've noticed with pump tracks is there's never any graffiti.
03:31Like even the one in Whishaw, in Craig Newke, there's one of the roughest areas of Glasgow, there's not a spot of graffiti on the track.
03:41The pump track could be a fantastic facility available to all ages.
03:44The fact that the initiative has been conceived by the young people of Dalgette Bay is encouraging.
03:50The enthusiasm and the energy of Ewan and his knowledge for the subject deserves the full support of the community.
04:01Thank you for watching this promotional video.
04:28If you'd like to find out more information on how the pump tracks have reduced active behaviour and helped the community,
04:33there'll be a link in the description below or in the comments.
04:37Click on it. It's three minutes long and it's really, really good explanation.
04:41And it shows firsthand how it has helped the community out in Whishaw and Craig Newke.
04:58We'll see you next time.
04:59Bye.
05:00Bye.
05:01Bye.
05:02Bye.
05:03Bye.
