00:00Well, Operation Sindhur, naturally, was a great success.
00:06But at the same time, we have to look at it analytically.
00:12A strong and clear message was sent to Pakistan.
00:17But you know, in life, if A sends a message to B,
00:21the message received is not the same as the message that was sent.
00:25So what has happened in Pakistan is that General Munir and the military,
00:33who were under considerable criticism in Pakistan
00:39for what happened in Belichistan and elsewhere.
00:44Now Munir has been reinstated in public esteem in a big way.
00:52Secondly, if you ask whether there will be further such terrorist attack from Pakistan,
01:03well, nobody knows.
01:06But at the same time, I would say it is difficult to say that there shall never be a repetition,
01:15despite India's having made it clear that any such terrorist attack will be an act of war,
01:23because that is how the things are.
01:26So Operation Sindhur was a great success, but it is my belief, I could be wrong,
01:34that we should now, apart from looking at these things militaristically,
01:43we should see whether we can make good use of diplomacy,
01:50which also is India's great strength.
01:55In a diplomatic outreach towards mending bilateral ties,
02:00after a year and a half of acumeny and hostility,
02:03Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney on Friday
02:06has invited Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the G7 summit on June 15-17.
02:12Well, Prime Minister Mark Carney has done the right thing.
02:17Well, people might say there was a slight delay, but I do not wish to go into it.
02:22But the basic point is that there cannot be a G7 meeting,
02:33which is effective in having conversations about what's happening to the global economy,
02:43what is happening in regard to security, what's happening in regard to war and peace,
02:51and also about what is happening with terrorism and the measures we need to take
02:59for counter-terrorism without India's presence.
03:03So I take it that Prime Minister Modi will raise the issue of terrorism,
03:08apart from other issues, climate change, everything will be raised,
03:11but they should be more focused on terrorism.
03:14And even after Pahalgam, we should recognize that the rest of the world,
03:22especially the West, has not really stopped, have not really woken up.
03:31Chief Advisor of the Interim Government, Muhammad Yunus,
03:34has announced election in April 2026.
03:39Says Bangladesh is in a state of war.
03:42In a state of, what shall I say, destabilization.
03:48In the sense that the government of, led by Yunus, is not in full control.
03:55No government is ever in full control, but it's not even in reasonable control.
04:00At the same time, he was planning to have the election much later,
04:03and he was even refusing to give a date.
04:06So, most probably, the Bangladesh National Party and others,
04:11who have been asking for early election, will accept this.
04:15And as things stand, the BNP will come back to power.
04:21But Jamaat-e-Islami might make substantial gains.
04:26Pakistan writes again, offers to renew talks on in this water treaty.
04:32India is not ready to engage yet.
04:34Well, as I have been saying all along,
04:38ideally Pakistan should take the decision to abandon the use of terrorism
04:45as part of its foreign policy, state policy,
04:49dismantle the camps, infrastructure,
04:54and bring to justice those who are sort of running these camps,
04:59and invite India, and maybe the international community also,
05:04to come and check.
05:06Now, if Pakistan moves in this direction, in a credible way,
05:11even before the end of the road,
05:14in my view, India should suspend its abeyance of the India's Water Treaty.
05:21And there are more reasons.
05:23We all know that, vis-à-vis Pakistan, India is an upper riparian state.
05:29But vis-à-vis China, India is a lower riparian state.
05:34And the Chinese are quite capable of telling us,
05:38tomorrow day after,
05:40well, this is how you treat, as an upper riparian state,
05:45the lower riparian state, what ground have you to talk?
05:49So, India has to be careful.
05:52And Pakistan can also take us to the ICJ.
05:55So, it's better to, as I said earlier, once again,
05:59it is better to go back to classical diplomacy.
06:03Lastly, sir, U.S. lawmaker tells Pakistan delegation
06:07to eliminate wild terror group like Jaish-e-Mohammad.
06:10They also told Pakistan delegation that the protection of religious minorities
06:14in Pakistan remains an important issue.
06:16Yes.
06:17It is glad that the U.S. lawmakers have done that.
06:24But at the same time, you know,
06:28it is one thing to make public pronouncements.
06:31If you tell me to do something in public,
06:34but if you do not follow it up with some action,
06:39in the case of Pakistan,
06:42well, you know that the IMF loan they got.
06:45Why?
06:46Mainly because of United States and other things.
06:51So, such public statements are welcome,
06:54but they should be followed up with some concrete action,
06:59which we are waiting for.
07:00which we are waiting for.
