00:00And this friendly face belongs to? Heather.
00:03Let her answer for herself, Greg.
00:07I'm Heather.
00:09I guess no one even knows you guys are here then.
00:17My character Tucker, he's a wounded child with a lot of issues,
00:21still yet to be resolved.
00:23But he fancies himself somewhat of a conservationist
00:27and kind of at one with the shark.
00:30He sees himself as someone who is influencing the balance of nature.
00:36It's just unfortunate that innocent people have to die.
00:47The shark brings order.
00:49Without this, chaos reigns and...
00:52Weaker creatures just think they can do whatever they want.
00:59I guess I approached him like any other character.
01:01It really just comes from instinct
01:03and, like, developing an understanding for who he is
01:05and why we're in this kind of position,
01:07this, like, fraction in time that we explore within his world.
01:12He's a performer within the film.
01:14He's very much, like, loves to hold the space
01:17and have the stage.
01:19Action!
01:20Mummy shark!
01:21Do-do-do-do-do-do-do!
01:22Mummy shark!
01:23Do-do-do-do-do-do!
01:24Mummy shark!
01:25I think what was happening was really working for Sean
01:27and he just let me, you know, run wild.
01:34Definitely one of the craziest performances I've laid down.
01:37Sean Byrne, fantastic to work with him.
01:41He's obviously someone who is widely respected within this genre.
01:45Playing in this space is kind of funny for an actor
01:47because not everything feels as scary as it needs to
01:50and there's a lot of elements that need to come in
01:52to influence that for the audience.
01:54You need a real anchor in your director
01:57to kind of hold on to the integrity of that.
02:01Hassie Harrison and Josh Houston, I loved.
02:03We had such a ball.
02:04Hass was just such a gutsy teammate and opponent in this film.
02:10From the first time I read the script,
02:12I knew that it was going to be a real challenge
02:14for whoever was playing that role
02:15just because of what they have to endure.
02:17She was a great choice.
02:19And Josh, I just can't say enough nice things about.
02:21He's such a charming young bloke.
02:23A man with a lot of integrity and passion
02:25and I can't wait to see him soar.
02:31We shot this film primarily on a boat.
02:33We shot so much out at sea.
02:35I'll add, I was not looking forward to that.
02:38There's certain elements about shooting in open water
02:40that you really can't create if you're moored in a marina.
02:44Just having a horizon, creating that space and that isolation.
02:48It could be a giant tank and shooting against green screen all day
02:51and it just wouldn't have felt nearly as authentic.
02:53So I was thrilled that we got the privilege
02:56of doing it out there for real.
03:00There is a dance scene.
03:01Yeah, it was completely improvised after one of his wins.
03:07I got myself a couple of tickets
03:08To see a rock and rolling band
03:10Come on girl, just get on your shoes
03:14We're gonna hear some sounds
03:16Come on babe, you know there ain't no time to mess around
03:20Round, round, round, round, round
03:22It was two takes.
03:24Me and Shelley Farthing-Dora are incomparable to the cinematographer.
03:27He was just hand held
03:29and we're in the galley in Tucker's boat.
03:31I just went for it.
03:37Combining the two genres of
03:38the kind of creature feature and serial killer thriller
03:42was really just like a two for one.
03:44It doesn't make the sharks seem less scary
03:46but we steer away from this familiar theme of the shark
03:50being the thing that hunts down the prey
03:53that mangles up those ideas a little bit
03:55and it's a lot of fun to do.
04:16The end of the game is we're just crossing when it's a little bit
04:23though.
04:33The end of the game is a song.
04:36What's the name?
04:38The end of the game is a song.
04:40The end of the game is a song.
