00:00So a party doesn't start until DJ Pee Wee shows up, man.
00:02How you feeling?
00:03I feel great.
00:04Your skis.
00:05And I mean that because I feel like everywhere I go in the industry,
00:08I can be at Coachella, I can be at the Super Bowl.
00:10You're there providing the vibe.
00:11So what's the evolution been like for you as a DJ?
00:13Man, it's been great.
00:14I love DJing, you know, being like a part of the party,
00:17but also like helping make the party is like, it's a dream.
00:20Like, I love it.
00:21So it's been awesome.
00:22Get to learn a lot of music.
00:23Shout out to Eddie and Maurice.
00:25It's like always a new challenge every time,
00:27just like trying to make the crowd move.
00:28So it's been awesome to go from like a little like speakeasy,
00:31where we started to doing like parties with Mickey Mouse now.
00:35I mean, that's what I'm saying.
00:36Being at the house of Mouse,
00:37how'd you get involved with Mickey and all his cool friends?
00:39It's been a dream come true.
00:41I think our first like party that we did was in London, maybe.
00:46And yeah, we hooked up with Joss and they just like, you know,
00:50at first I didn't know really what it was about.
00:51And it was just like exceeded all expectations,
00:53like to be able to interact with like all the characters.
00:56And they took me to like the studio.
00:58And we did so much cool content.
00:59It's been amazing.
01:00Being with the characters on stage is always so awesome.
01:03And I mean,
01:03do you have any personal Disney memories that like has connected you to the
01:06brand over the years?
01:07Yeah.
01:07I mean, of course,
01:08it's going like trips to Disneyland,
01:10watching DuckTales and Mickey Mouse Club.
01:14Yeah, man.
01:14It's like some of my like fondest,
01:16like childhood memories for sure.
01:18Well, you're definitely bringing the cool, my friend.
01:20And like, what have you been working on lately?
01:21How's the music going and how's everything in the studio?
01:23I've been doing a lot of DJing.
01:24Honestly, I've been doing like a lot of DJing all over the place.
01:28And yeah, working on some new music.
01:30I've been working on my label and working with new artists that are coming up with new music.
01:35It's been really fun and hanging with my kids.
01:38I have a movie that's going to be doing its U.S.
01:40premiere at Toronto.
01:41I'm sorry, at the Tribeca Film Fest in a couple of weeks.
01:44So I'm excited about that.
01:46Yeah.
01:47And I heard a little something when I was driving here.
01:48I like them dangerous.
01:49Hey, come on, bro.
01:50That's right.
01:51Tell me about the track, man.
01:52How was it to produce that and be involved in the project?
01:55Shout out to the queen, Mariah Carey.
01:57It was awesome to be able to work on her project.
01:59And me and my boys, J-Mo and J-Pounds, we have the first single and also co-written by Ray Khalil,
02:08who's also on my record label.
02:10So, yeah, it was amazing.
02:12She's amazing to work with, a great writer, a great producer, so much fun.
02:15We had a lot of fun.
02:16And that was one of the last records we did in the studio, and it came together so quick.
02:22She's a big hip-hop head, so I wanted to try to find something that we could continue the lineage
02:27of her mixing the old with the new, and I think we got it with this one.
02:31So, Type Dangerous comes out in a few hours.
02:32Yeah, I love that, man.
02:34I mean, she's such a queen.
02:35We know she always knows what she wants.
02:36So, how was it to kind of have you both in the studio?
02:38I feel like she trusts you.
02:39It was good, yeah.
02:40A lot of trust, and I know I trust her.
02:42And we just, you know, like, we had multiple sessions, and we got to just work it out.
02:47And I got to learn about, like, her musical taste and seeing what she was into and listening to
02:52her stories that she told.
02:53And that's how we came up with the single, because the Eric B. and Rakim for president
02:57is a song that she really loves.
02:59And, you know, we were just in the studio before she got in, and we were messing around.
03:03I was like, let's try to flip this.
03:04And when she came in, she really liked it.
03:06So, it's been a lot of fun working with her.
03:09Well, dude, I'm such a fan of both of you guys.
03:10Have so much fun at House of Mouse tonight.
03:12I came ready to jam during your set.
03:13Yeah.
03:13Let's go.
