00:00I've already made a video explaining some specific features of Revolut, but I haven't yet made a video explaining how to use this app, so stick around and let's watch it.
00:13To make the video a little more enjoyable, I've divided it into chapters and you know that you can skip to the chapter that interests you the most.
00:20Of course, if you've never used Revolut or you're going to create an account from scratch, I recommend that you watch the full video.
00:27What is Revolut and how can I tell if it's reliable?
00:30It was founded in 2015 and offers banking services, both savings and investments.
00:36It has a mobile app and already has more than 50 million customers worldwide.
00:41You can make payments, transfers, currency exchanges, investments and you can also manage your money.
00:47It supports more than 160 countries and has more than 36 currencies through the app.
00:53It also has a branch in Spain and has had Ivan Espanol for a few years now,
00:58Creating a Revolut account is very easy.
01:00For security reasons, I can't record the screen, but I can tell you that creating an account is very easy by following the steps.
01:07It's very intuitive and I'm sure you won't have any problems.
01:10Revolut is free, as it has a free plan, which is the one I use.
01:14You can also access other paid plans that offer more services, although honestly, with the free plan you can use your bank account and make different transactions without any problems.
01:24Just in case, I'll leave you a screenshot of the plans they offer, their differences and the price.
01:30How can you deposit money into your Revolut account?
01:32It's very easy, but pay attention because I'm going to tell you a trick that I do.
01:36As you can see, on the main Revolut screen we already have the option to add money automatically.
01:43I have my open bank card number entered here, but if I click on change, it offers different options such as bank transfer, regular bank transfer, Google Pay.
01:52You can also link your salary so that companies can deposit your payroll into your Revolut account or you can add another type of card.
02:02My advice is that as a security measure, you create a virtual card with your trusted bank, in my case OpenBank or Santander.
02:10I create a virtual card with a certain balance, for example, 100 euros, and then I go to Revolut.
02:16I enter that card, which would be this card here, which is the virtual one.
02:20And here I indicate that I want 100 euros to be deposited.
02:24Since that card has 100 euros, the maximum amount I will be able to deposit is 100 euros, but I can also deposit 50 euros or 60 euros, but the limit is 100 euros after that.
02:34You just have to follow Revolut's instructions and the deposit will be sent to you immediately.
02:39If you are a student studying abroad or away from home, what your countries can do is create a virtual card with their trusted bank, with their usual bank, with an available balance.
02:50And you can link that card to your Revolut account to top up your Revolut bank account with the money you need, always with the limit that your parents have set.
02:59That is, if your parents have created a virtual card with a balance of 500 euros, you will only be able to top up your Revolut account with 500 euros.
03:08If you need more, you will have to ask them for it.
03:11There are several ways to send money to your friends from Revolut.
03:14In the menu below, you have to go to the Payments section.
03:19Once there, you will find all your contacts who have Revolut and right at the top, you will find the new payment option.
03:25By clicking there, you can choose between the different payment methods offered by Revolut, such as making a new payment to a Revolut friend through BUN, through a bank transfer, a destination card for a cryptocurrency wallet or making a payment to a specific group.
03:43If I click on Revolut friend, I will be able to search for that friend who has an account with this bank, which is known as a tag or username, which is done by clicking the at sign.
03:58You can also make the payment through BUN, which we explain in another video that I have linked just above.
04:03By adding their phone number, a name, and then you can save this option as a new contact.
04:13You can also make a payment via bank transfer, simply by indicating all the fields that are shown here.
04:21You can also make a payment via a destination card by indicating the name of the person and the card number to which you want to make the deposit.
04:28If I scroll down, I can find other options such as international money transfers, I can create a payment link or make donations.
04:41In the case of international transfers, I have to choose the destination where I want to send this money.
04:47For example, I'm going to click on Mexico and it gives me the option to deposit in Mexican pesos.
04:52I can select the transfer method if I want it to arrive today and right here below it shows me the commission that will be charged for making this transfer to a foreign currency.
05:04If I choose, for example, the United States, the same in the transfer method, it tells me that the transfer will arrive today, but that it will charge me a fee of 130.
05:14In other words, it will charge me one type of fee or another depending on the country where I am sending my money.
05:20In this case, I am going to choose a country, for example, from the European Union.
05:24It already tells me here that the transfer method will arrive in a few seconds and if I click on this option it tells me that it is commission free.
05:32Why? Because it is the same type of currency.
05:34Let's choose, for example, the United Kingdom, whose currency is the pound.
05:38And here it tells me that it will arrive in a few seconds with a fee of 70 cents or if I send it to a card, a fee of 20 cents.
05:47So, well, you have to be careful with the fee that they are going to charge me.
05:50Another option that Revolut also offers us is to create a payment link.
05:55Through this payment link I can send money or request money and that way I do not have to give my bank details.
06:02I don't have to give my account number or my card number.
06:04In this case, I'm going to request money and this screen tells me that I can request a specific amount.
06:12For example, if I've had dinner with a friend and they haven't paid me yet, fine, they can do it through BUM, but I can also do it this way.
06:22I request 20 euros, click on create link and I can share my link with whoever I want through WhatsApp, email, however I want.
06:29I can buy share this link so that that person can make that deposit.
06:35Keep in mind that here the status tells you that it's pending because no one has yet paid me those 20 euros and then that this link will expire in 9 days.
06:45Once these days have passed, the link will expire and disappear.
06:48If that person still hasn't paid me the 20 euros, I'll have to create a new link.
06:55The good thing about Revolut is that you can have multiple accounts.
06:58You can have your normal account, but you can also create other accounts in other currencies.
07:02For example, if you travel to the United States, you can create a dollar account and transfer your money from one account to another,
07:10from the euro account to the dollar account, and the exchange rate that applies at that time will apply.
07:15You can also create accounts for minors under 18 so that children and teenagers between the ages of 6 and 17 can manage their own money.
07:25To pay abroad, you can make payments in more than 30 different currencies without exchange fees.
07:31The only thing is that on weekends they do charge you a small fee and you can withdraw up to 2,000 euros per month without fees.
07:39You can also create a savings account and earn interest.
07:42You can create a remunerated account depending on the plan you have with Revolut and it will earn you different interests.
07:49You can also invest in cryptocurrencies, although I'm not going to get into that since my experience is practically nil,
07:56but so that you know that you can do it, you can also do it from Revolut.
08:00Finally, in Revolut you can have different cards that you can see in the icon at the top right.
08:05Here you will find different types of cards such as physical, disposable or virtual.
08:12The physical one is the normal one.
08:15You can only use the disposable one once a new data is generated.
08:19For example, for a business that you do not trust or an online purchase that you are not sure is reliable,
08:26you can use this type of card and then the virtual one that you top up with the balance you want
08:31and is very useful for making payments for online purchases, such as Amazon or Netflix when you have subscriptions.
08:37I have also talked more specifically about cards in another video, so I will leave a link to it right above.
08:44What else can you do with Revolut?
08:46You can change currencies by clicking on the plus button.
08:50The exchange option will appear and here you can change from your currency,
08:54which in this case is euros, to the currency of your choice.
08:57Here I have chosen dollars.
08:59But if I select here, I can choose all the currencies that exist or that Revolut works with.
09:07You can even choose a cryptocurrency that you have purchased.
09:11Finally, another function that I find very useful about Revolut is scheduling payments.
09:17When you have subscriptions to Netflix or Amazon Premium or some other platform,
09:22you can schedule these payments through Revolut.
09:25You have to go to the section below where it says payments.
09:29Right next to the plus sign, there is a calendar.
09:33And here you would add a new payment.
09:36Once it is added, all the scheduled payments that you have added will appear here.
09:42If you want to learn more detailed things about Revolut,
09:45I'll leave you the playlist that I'm creating here and I'll see you in the next tutorial.
