New Delhi, June 06, 2025 (ANI): Speaking on PM Modi inauguration of Chenab bridge in J&K on June 06, Congress MP Jairam Ramesh said, "The Prime Minister never acknowledges continuity in governance because he is perenially searching for self-glorification and self-publicity... The BrahMos missile is also an example of continuity in governance." "The Udampur-Srinagar-Baramulla railway project was sanctioned in March 1995 when PV Narasimha Rao was the Prime Minister. In March 2002, Atal Bihari Vajpayee declared it a national project when he was the Prime Minister... All contracts for the Chenab Bridge were awarded in 2005... While today is an important day for the people of J&K and the Indian railways, governance in continuity has to be recognised. It is a collective achievement of the last 30 years... Successive Prime Ministers have worked to make these projects a reality."
00:00Well, you know, there is continuity in governance, but Prime Minister Modi never recognizes this, never acknowledges it because he is, you know, perennially in search of self-glorification and self-publicity.
00:14This 272 kilometer long Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramola railway project was sanctioned in March of 1995 when P.V. Narasim Raoji was the Prime Minister.
00:28In March of 2002, it was taken forward, declared as a national project by Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayeeji when he was Prime Minister.
00:37Today is an important day for the people of Jammu and Kashmir, an important day for the Indian Railways.
00:43The Indian National Congress congratulates the entire Indian railway system, public sector companies, private sector companies, but governance in continuity has to be recognized.
00:55This is a collective achievement. It is an achievement of the last 30 years.
01:01And this is the most complex project geologically, geographically, security wise, so many challenges we have had to face.
01:10So this is the background to this project. You know, some days ago I had given the example of Brahmos, the Brahmos missile.
01:17Brahmos missile is also an example of continuity in governance.
01:21Similarly, the Chena project and the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramola link, you know, this is all continuity in governance.
01:33Successive prime ministers have worked to make these projects a reality, whether it is the Brahmos missile or whether it is the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramola rail link or whether it is the Chena Rail bridge.
