00:00Kazakhstan has hosted now the second Astana International Forum.
00:05It is Kazakhstan's contribution to multilateral diplomacy.
00:09It is our effort to help restart dialogue where it was broken or strengthen cooperation where it still exists.
00:16So Kazakhstan, as an aspiring middle power, wants to contribute to the resolution of global problems
00:22and this is one step that we are taking towards reaching that goal.
00:30A platform for dialogue and cooperation, Astana International Forum gathered world leaders,
00:43international organizations, experts and companies to discuss economic instability, security issues,
00:49climate change, trade wars and technological advancements.
00:52It is my great pleasure to welcome all of you to Astana International Forum.
01:00At the event's plenary session, heads of states and high-ranking officials expressed worry over profound global uncertainty and growing conflicts.
01:10Last year, armed conflicts were recorded in 52 states while the violence's economic toll came to 19 trillion dollars or around 13.5% of global GDP.
01:21Yet beyond the numbers lies a more troubling reality.
01:25Modern conflicts are increasingly protracted and complex.
01:31They often involve a multitude of actors, including non-state groups, and are fueled by deep-seated grievances.
01:41These factors make lasting peace far more difficult to achieve.
01:46Global leaders said conflicts from old grudges must be solved at the source.
01:50While dialogue remains an important part of politics, talk without action will not produce results.
01:56We are living in deep crisis, that is an obvious fact.
02:00United Nations are still enjoying legitimacy.
02:05And in my opinion, they are the only place where we could solve a lot of different problems.
02:13Because then we could unite ourselves, how?
02:17With principles and values that are often forgotten.
02:23The presidents agree that to tackle today's challenges, the 80-year-old United Nations structure needs an update.
02:29The system established after World War II is faltering, and nations are building relations in new, unprecedented ways.
02:35Amid these shifting dynamics, Italian Prime Minister Giorgio Meloni noted that Central Asia has consistently played the role of a mediator and a bridge.
02:44This region has always been a crossroads between the West and the East,
02:49and occupies a strategic role in the global scenario.
02:53Moreover, in difficult times, as those we are in.
02:59Central Asia has always been a bridge.
03:02The transformations and changes this part of the planet has undergone over the centuries have made it what it is today.
03:10The hinge between two continents, the point of contact between Europe and Asia,
03:17the junction between worlds that once were very distant but now are more interconnected than ever.
03:25Meloni made an appearance on the second day of the forum on her way to the first Italy-Central Asia Summit, which also took place in Astana.
03:32Highlighting the long-standing ties between the two countries, she pointed to the growing importance of critical infrastructure like the Middle Corridor,
03:39whose strategic role is evolving amid rising geopolitical tensions.
03:43The middle corridor, as we say.
03:44The middle corridor, as we say.
03:45The middle corridor has already increased from an alternative route, which we used initially
03:50to a large economic network of cooperation between the West and the West, and we are in the middle.
04:04Experts also talked about the need for cleaner energy and reaching carbon neutrality, especially with growing concerns about climate change.
04:11Central Asia is suffering from acute climate crisis.
04:14The temperatures in the region rise twice as fast as the rest of the world, threatening water security, food security, public health and economic stability.
04:22The forum's panels address the importance of climate action and accessibility of climate financing.
04:27Unfortunately, our region, Central Asia, has attracted less than one percent of global climate finance,
04:34whereas we have huge potential to contribute to global climate action and reduction of carbon emissions,
04:40but also this is one of the most vulnerable regions to the effects of climate change.
04:45Experts say climate problems don't stand alone. They make other issues worse.
04:50To tackle this, the nation is getting ready to host the Regional Climate Summit in 2026.
04:57等حم wrestle live the format of recommendations on climate science.
04:59Once we've
05:03go to, climate sw cũng
05:06and shift that into the horse.
05:06We have見 new
05:10about wave of regions of the region,
05:14which is the center of the region in the world.
