Dogs on Skid Row are being fed fentanyl, bred for money, and otherwise abused and neglected, and politicians are doing nothing about ... so says an animal rights activist.
01:05So obviously they're going to bring the pet with them.
01:08But how do you I'd imagine that part of your battle is in trying to rescue the dogs from their owners who still want to keep the dog with them, despite the fact they clearly can't take care of them.
01:20Skid Row is a little different.
01:22Like there's people on Skid Row that have been there for 10 plus years.
01:26It's not people who had something bad that happened suddenly and they find themselves homeless.
01:32These are people that have been there for sometimes even generations and are people that come across the border, have no place else to go.
01:41So but there's also what people don't know is that there's also people using Skid Row as a place because there's no law and order to do what they want.
01:52Underground fighting, dog breeding.
01:54You go down certain areas and there's Escalades, there's Teslas and because they're doing their business there.
01:59So it's a joint effort between some of the on house individuals, but also people that have a lot of money.
02:05They're doing things ephariously there.
02:08So and the police are aware of it.
02:09We've told them many times we see them drive by dogs that are openly being used for breeding, being hit, being abused, and they don't do anything.
02:19Why have you had trouble getting politicians on board?
02:21This seems like a cause that everybody would be behind.
02:24A thousand percent.
02:25And I feel like it's it's interesting.
02:28Actually, the other day I went to 7-Eleven to get a whole bunch of water for the people and the dogs on Skid Row.
02:34And I told the clerk what I was using them for.
02:36And he was like, there's dogs on Skid Row.
02:38So it's I just like a lot of people don't know.
02:40But I also think the politicians definitely do know we've done petitions.
02:44We talked on City Hall and they don't do anything because they don't want to be insensitive to the people.
02:51It's we've been told many times that they don't do any enforcement.
02:54They don't do any kind of consequences because they don't want to hurt the feelings of the people there.
03:00And of course, it's not everybody there, but there's a lot of people there that deserve consequences.
03:04And it just needs a couple of people to feel the punishment.
03:08And I think it'll make an effect.
03:09But there's so far, there's been no consequences.
