Go behind the scenes of Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning to see how Tom Cruise and the stunt team executed one of the film’s most intense aerial sequences — a parachute jump where the chute catches fire mid-air. With months of planning, exact timing, and precision rigging, the scene pushes the boundaries of what’s possible in practical stunt work. No CGI, just pure execution. This is Mission: Impossible at its most daring.

00:00What I'm going to do is I'm going to be deploying. If this is twisted while it's burning, I'm going to be spinning and burn.
00:10I have to kick out of the twist and then ignite it. Then 10 seconds.
00:15Start soaking the parachute.
00:16We're going to submerge the parachute into the avgas.
00:20Soak up fuel. So when the parachute opens and ignites it, it'll hold fuel and explode.
00:26For this shot, what are we looking for?
00:28It's quite literally, establish the objects in your hand and burn the parachute.
00:32The more up we're looking, the more the burn we'll get.
00:34Yep.
00:35We're going to be real smart. I'm not saying be risky. We don't take risks, you know?
00:41Obviously.
00:42Do what?
00:43You're going to have to set for this and look up and ignite it.
