Joseph Newby is an 11-year-old competitive golfer from a Sunderland council estate, who in July 2025 is taking part in the Champion of Champions Tournament for young golfers in Ireland.
Joseph fell in love with golf aged about six when he found a pitch and wedge club at a local golf course.

00:00I'm 11 years old and I'm going to the Champions of Champions in Ireland.
00:04We head to Ireland on the 28th of July to compete in the Champions of Champions.
00:11There's hundreds of juniors from all around the world.
00:14And I want to go on to win the Masters, the US Open.
00:19I'm so proud of the work that Joseph puts in.
00:23We'll be in London one week, Scotland the next.
00:28We travel all over, we do.
