There was a time when a case’s only job was to protect your phone from scratches or the occasional drop. But for tech-savvy stylistas, even tech accessories are part of the outfit equation. Think of them as mini canvases—ones that say just as much about you as your choice of bag or sunglasses.
And now, with Heart Evangelista’s latest collaboration with Casetify, those canvases have come to life. In this interview with Preview, the Filipina artist, actress, and fashion personality walks us through her collaboration with the global tech accessories brand—a collection that reimagines her paintings as functional, everyday accessories.

00:00Hey, Preview Magazine! This is Hart and this is my collaboration with Casetify.
00:07The inspirations are actually all of my artworks from the past and the ones that I recently created.
00:12It feels so special because I truly feel like I gave birth to them.
00:15I mean, spending so many hours, endless nights creating these pieces and to see it on Casetify is definitely a dream come true.
00:24This one would be very meaningful.
00:26A little trivia, I named her Alessandra or Alexandra because of Alessandra de Rossi.
00:31She always said that she was a mermaid and this was part of my very first collection in 2014, I think.
00:37This was, you know, a very colorful painting. I was in a different mindset or like I was younger, I guess.
00:44And so I love this because it's very lively. It's a vibe.
00:47Another one that I love that took me forever, I think this would be one of the longest paintings I've ever had to create.
00:54This was inspired by all of the women I would see in Fashion Week.
00:58A lot of people would ask me or whenever I'd have interviews if there's a specific person that inspires me like when it comes to fashion.
01:07It would be every single woman that I would see just walking around being themselves.
01:13So this is the inspiration behind it. This is really my favorite.
01:17And then the next one, this was a very special piece I created during the pandemic.
01:21This was actually an artwork that I created my very first NFT. It was auctioned out.
01:28It helped me save a lot. I think this is the most expensive painting that I've ever sold in my life.
01:34Yeah, so it was very special. And honestly, the real painting, I mean the actual painting, I saved it for a rainy day.
01:41And there was a time that I was going through something kind of crazy.
01:45I was able to buy one of my apartment in Paris because of this painting.
01:48So maybe that's a crazy memory to share.
01:51You stare at your phone the whole day. You want to feel calm.
01:54I also chose like some that would, I guess it depends which person would be carrying a very colorful personality.
02:00Or if somebody is, you know, like they like to wear just plain or like whites, they would have the very colorful vibrant ones.
02:07But I definitely needed to put something that was a bit more toned down muted for every day.
02:12But personally, I changed my cases. It's like I changed my jacket or lipstick.
02:16It does have to do with what I wear, what bag and stuff like that.
02:20Not that I like to play safe, but each outfit that I own would probably be something that I would wear 10 years from now.
02:28It's the same and it's equivalent to the kind of phone case that you have.
02:33So not basic, but definitely a splash of color would do the trick.
