00:00So how is Spacecoin taking this thing? How is Spacecoin solving this con?
00:05So we are developing the protocol layer to create a decentralized satellite communication networks.
00:13So how will you deal with the regulatory aspects of things when it is coming to free internet or something?
00:20So there is a very well defined regulatory framework when it comes to satellite communications and when it comes to forecasting in the country.
00:30Hello everyone, this is Hudeev from Coingabba reporting from the Crypto Polo Club.
00:34Once again, I want to tell you that the vibe is absolutely fantastic here.
00:38Things are going ahead, people are buzzing and you know, you can say the game of the riches Polo is already on.
00:46And there are other things that the business that we have to attend to.
00:49Join with me is Stuart from Spacecoin. Hi Stuart.
00:53Get me to do it. Yeah.
00:55So Stuart is going to tell us about what Spacecoin actually is.
00:58You know, Stuart is working with Spacecoin and Spacecoin is trying to solve the biggest problem that we can say exists today that is providing internet to people through satellite which are not having access to us already.
01:09And being from India, being from Indian support in it, I can understand that there is a lot that can be done if the internet is available and properly available at places.
01:16So how is Spacecoin taking this thing? How is Spacecoin solving this con?
01:22So there probably has been a long-standing problem with this issue of, let's say in India's example or in emerging markets, this issue of connecting the unconnected.
01:30So I think India has 600 million people who are currently offline or are under-connected, meaning they have to travel to their nearest village or town to get internet accesses.
01:39And what that ends up contributing to is this, you get this digital divide between those who have internet and those who have not.
01:46And internet access to internet comes with a lot of benefits, economic benefits, health benefits, education and so on and so forth.
01:52So that's sort of setting the context for the common we're trying to solve and the reason this needs to be solved by satellite technology is because the cost of laying fiber optic cable and then putting up the cell tower is far too expensive if you're not targeting highly populated, densely populated urban areas.
02:10So as soon as you start to head towards smaller villages or remote communities, there's just no ROIs, no payback there for the operators.
02:18Whereas on the satellite side of things, because of the way that the satellites travel across, you can access anyone, anywhere, no matter how remote they are.
02:27And so that's the area that we're going after.
02:29So we are developing the protocol layer to create a decentralized satellite communication network to bring internet connectivity to individuals who are underserved.
02:38And the reason that we want to create a decentralized network, so that has several benefits that for the end user, we have this idea of permission that's connected.
02:51So we believe that access to the internet is a human right.
02:53Everyone should have access to the internet and blockchain and decentralized network allows you to offer that.
02:59And then at the state level, it's much more around sovereignty.
03:04So national sovereignty, sovereignty of your data as a nation state, controlling where that data goes.
03:10And so we've seen what's happened with, for example, in Ukraine, the alleged conflict with Stalin, where Stalin have threatened to turn off the Ukrainians to India on the backfield.
03:20And that was a huge wake-up call for everybody in the global community who didn't have their own constellation.
03:25But the challenge comes with that, if you look at the geopolitical landscape, you have the U.S. has Stalin, Amazon's coming soon, the EU's creating a consortium of satellites, and China has, let's say, two or three satellite constellations they're launching as well.
03:38The rest of the world, marginally, won't have their own constellation.
03:41A country like India has the buying power, the population, they can build their own constellation.
03:45But the vast majority of countries do not.
03:48And so they're very, very afraid now that if they sign up with Stalin as an example, all of a sudden their critical communication.
03:55It could be shut down.
03:56It could be they don't have any control over their data flows, their sovereign data.
04:00And that's something, again, a decentralized constellation is able to solve.
04:03So we're solving challenges at the national level and also at the population level.
04:08Great.
04:09One more thing that goes ahead with it is that free Internet, if it is shut down for some time, that has proven to be very effective in terms of stopping the riot.
04:19Because, you know, there's a sentiment that is built all of a sudden.
04:22We have seen one building up.
04:24I mean, there's been a terrorist attack in India.
04:26Since I belong to India, I know that.
04:27And there was a sentiment all of a sudden.
04:29People started reacting to it and things.
04:32In order to stop all that, if we talk about stopping the satellite and stopping the information from being flowed so freely, it has turned out to be a very effective medium for that.
04:40But if it is not that, the government is having problems.
04:44And that is where the problem of regulations come into capture.
04:47So how will you deal with the regulatory aspects of things when it is coming to free Internet or something?
04:53Yeah.
04:53So there is a very well defined regulatory framework when it comes to satellite communications and when it comes to forecasting in the country.
05:01So if your satellite wishes to transmit into, let's say, India as a country, then you have to get permission from the government.
05:08You have to get access to the spectrum and you have to comply with the regulatory framework and the laws in place.
05:14So that's going to be the same for us.
05:16So in the short term, you have to pick and choose your batteries, right?
05:19So we want to work with jurisdiction.
05:23We want to work with government.
05:24We want to get our service out there.
05:26Over time, by the very nature of being a decentralized protocol, it will start to take on a life of its own.
05:31And as more and more individuals, countries, telecoms companies, high net worth, put satellites into orbit, it starts to take on its own life.
05:39And at that point, controlling something that becomes more trickle.
05:42It's like putting the genie back in the bottle.
05:44You can see the same with Bitcoin.
05:45It was regulatory, a gray area or banned.
05:48It was a regulatory nightmare earlier.
05:50Exactly.
05:51But now it's out there.
05:52Yeah.
05:53It becomes sort of a de facto standard that this is now existing.
05:56And countries are now sort of starting to react and adopt to work with it rather than to fight it because they realize it's a losing game.
06:03Right.
06:04And we anticipate the same will or have a similar journey and path to go for.
06:08So we have to work with the system first, get to a point where there is a single point of failure.
06:14The protocol takes on its own, its own community, its own life.
06:18And at that stage, we believe that countries will want to then rather than fight against it, though, Scott said, okay, how can we work with this?
06:24How can we work within and make the system better for everyone?
06:27How does the blockchain or you can say the digital footprint come into picture when we talk about the regulatory perspective and talk about space coin?
06:38You know, the most important thing with blockchain is the digital footprint.
06:42So the digital footprint is there.
06:44The regulations become very easy.
06:46Right.
06:47So how far are you going ahead with what we talk about the digital footprint of things?
06:51Yeah, so the space coin itself is there for, let's say, three main things.
06:56It's there to authorize who can access the network, who can contribute resources to the network.
07:02It's there to authenticate them when someone joins and is there for the accounting purposes.
07:06So you can track who has contributed, how much bandwidth to the network, who has used, how much data from the network.
07:12And that will all be on the public ledger.
07:14So there's, we've spoken to a number of government over the last few months and you hear very interesting stories.
07:20So there's, for example, a government who I won't name, I said, they have a giant telecoms company in their country, but they have no idea how much real revenue this company makes.
07:28The amount they, the amount they pertain to the government, they believe is underreporting by 70, 80%.
07:34Yes.
07:35But there's no way for them to really verify that without going in and raiding the offices and so on and so forth.
07:41Whereas some of the space coin, all of that data is, is stored in a box area.
07:45Where it also becomes helpful for governments is in terms of traceability of data.
07:48So if you are a nation state, who's in you, who's existing what?
07:51Exactly.
07:52And where is your data going?
07:53So India could say, right, we want to make sure that any data coming from India stays within India.
07:57And the blockchain allows you to record where that data has gone, to which ground station, to which terminals, which users.
08:02And so you can make sure that all the data, you have this sort of data sovereignty, even India.
08:06And if you see that, then that data starts to get downlinked to Pakistan, that might be something that the government doesn't want.
08:13And that's all going to be transparent and traceable.
08:15Whereas if you use Starlink at the moment, once your data gets started, you have no idea where data flows.
08:20So you don't have any control over it.
08:21So there's also a big data sovereignty flay around having an open, auditable ledger and a blockchain that people can look at.
08:30That's fair.
08:31That's fair.
08:31So if you're talking about blockchain in total, how good are things going to be when you can say all the data is on blockchain?
08:40How does a crypto ecosystem, a space coin, the coin come into picture here?
08:50And what is the use case here?
08:52Yeah.
08:52So space coin is going to be, you can think of it like it's going to be a DAT built upon a layer one called credit coin.
09:01And credit coin is a project which was delivering financial services that individuals are unbanked, underbanked.
09:08And space coin grew out of the credit coin project to help deliver connectivity to people are unconnected.
09:13So that's the tie in between those two ecosystems.
09:17But the coin itself is really to make sure that the participants in the network are good actors.
09:24So if you launch a satellite, you may have to stay to the space coin.
09:28The space coin will be used to, as I mentioned, authenticate.
09:31And for accounting purposes, you as an end user, let's say me as an individual,
09:38in living in a certain country, I don't necessarily have to know about space coin.
09:41For me, that can all be abstracted away.
09:43Either I can pay with fiat and the space coin happens behind the scenes,
09:47or I will still buy my internet through a telecoms company.
09:51A space coin is then an infrastructure provided to the telco and all that abstracted away.
09:55So we don't want to be a project which has complexity.
10:00A crypto project.
10:01You want to be a service project.
10:02Exactly.
10:03We are a service project.
10:05The crypto elements serve a real purpose and a real benefit on the back end.
10:09Right.
10:10So as a user, you don't have to know crypto, you don't have to have heard of crypto,
10:14you don't have to interact with it.
10:15You just know you're getting internet.
10:16And on the back end, the space coin does this thing to make sure that everything is accounted for,
10:21that all the authorizations are correct, authentication, accounting, all that sort of thing.
10:25That's fair.
10:26Because I have been visiting across the globe and seeing projects that are coming up with utilities and use cases.
10:32Most of them are basically, what they're trying to do is making the interface less crypto friendly and more webto friendly.
10:39While at the back of the things, there's always blockchain operating and things are working.
10:42And that is where I can see space point going.
10:45So it's fair to form an opinion that even if you're not a crypto user, you don't even know how to use a wallet.
10:50But still you can access the blockchain ecosystem.
10:53And I mean access all the powers that blockchain can harness.
10:57That is one thing good about space coin I must say.
10:59But that's one thing.
11:00What's the future?
11:02So the future is that we have one satellite launch now.
11:05We're launching our next batch this year.
11:08And then we already have agreements in place to do demonstrations with telecoms companies,
11:16with governments and nation states.
11:19And off the back of that, we'll also have a TG coming up in the coming weeks.
11:24So if you go to spacepoint.org, you can follow along for more information.
11:27But the aim is that by the end of this year, we'll be doing live demonstrations
11:31in multiple countries.
11:33And then from there, we'll be building on the constellation step by step at that point.
11:36So guys, there's a lot to learn from this.
11:41There's a lot to understand from what space coin is.
11:44And there's a lot to see about the future that space coin is taking us into.
11:47So I must say space coin might not directly be the future, but space coin is the one that
11:52might take us to the future and the times to come.
11:54And with that, I wish all the luck to Stuart and team from space coin.
11:58Let's hope that things go good.
12:00For those who are like active investors in the crypto ecosystem, the tokens are definitely
12:05out soon.
12:06Coming soon.
12:07And Zoom listings are coming soon.
12:10We have them all lined up.
12:11We're waiting for our members to announce it.
12:14You'll be one of the first to know.
12:17And we'd love to have anyone who's interested in the project, either Web3 crypto level or
12:23at a humanitarian level or government level.
12:26We'd love to have you follow along the journey.
12:28Please get involved.
12:29We really would like to support you.
12:31We'd like to make space coin, we believe will be the future.
12:33And we'd like to have you at all for the ride.
12:36So that's one thing.
12:38So those who are believers in futuristic technologies and blockchain combined together,
12:43space coin is going to be the one that you should watch out for.
12:46And as soon as it is this trade come out for pre-sale, you can do your own research
12:49definitely and can invest in space coin for the times to come.
12:52Because it causes a great future as I can see from here.
12:55With this, we come to the end of the session.
12:57Thanks so much Stuart for being here with us.
13:00This is Steve from CoinGrabbit.
13:01And we'll hope to see you soon once again.
13:03Thank you so much.
13:04Bye bye.
