00:06a murder trial in Morwell, Gippsland. Cross-examination is set to start on June 5 after
00:12Defence Barrister Colin Mandy spent three days questioning Ms Patterson. So far the
00:17court has heard about her tricky relationship with Simon, her estranged husband, her bond
00:22with his parents, her passion for mushroom foraging and preservation, as well as accounts
00:28of her lifelong struggle with disordered eating. Yesterday Ms Patterson told the court that she
00:33invited her in-laws to the fateful lunch because she was worried about a growing distance between
00:38them. She said she had plans to undergo gastric bypass surgery but lied to her in-laws saying
00:44that she was being treated for cancer. Ms Patterson has been charged with three counts of murder over
00:50the deaths of Heather Wilkinson, Gail Patterson and Don Patterson in August 2023 and one count of
00:56attempted murder in relation to Corumborra pastor Ian Wilkinson. We'll bring you all the latest
