00:02:03We're going to be right down
00:02:05You never can get out of the way
00:02:08There will be a wave
00:07:41All right, no problem.
00:09:03All right, no problem.
00:09:33All right, no problem.

00:10:05Sometimes yesterday could be the time to make the best of what's on your mind.
00:10:07Sometimes yesterday could be the time to make the best of what's on your mind.
00:10:09Just wait for yesterday could be the time to make the best of what's on your mind.

00:10:17Just wait for yesterday to come to me.
00:10:21Just wait for yesterday to come to me.
00:10:28Sometimes yesterday could be the time to make the best of what's on your mind.
00:10:30Sometimes yesterday could be your best friend.
00:10:34Sometimes yesterday could be the time to make the best of what's on your mind.
00:10:36Sometimes yesterday could be your best friend.
00:10:40Never wondering how or when.
00:10:42Never wondering how or when.
00:10:46Yesterday is drifting away from me.
00:10:52Can't look forward cause I see you there.
00:11:04Appreciate you more now I swear.
00:11:10Yesterday can be so unfair.
00:11:12Yesterday can be so unfair.
00:11:16Will you return to me?
00:11:22Sometimes yesterday fades away.
00:11:28Lose a little more everyday.
00:11:34Yesterday is all we have.
00:11:46Hold on tight.
00:11:50That was beautiful.
00:11:52I thought I was alone in here.
00:11:54Who's that by?
00:11:56Well, did you like it?
00:11:58I loved it.
00:11:59That was really nice.
00:12:00Well, in that case, yeah, I wrote it.
00:12:02Really?
00:12:03Yeah, if you said you didn't like it, I would have said it was by Bon Jovi.
00:12:06No, I thought it was good.
00:12:07You really wrote that?
00:12:08Yeah, I really did.
00:12:10Wow, I've never met a songwriter before.
00:12:12So what's it about?
00:12:13Is it about somebody you lost?
00:12:15Oh, I don't know.
00:12:16I guess it's mainly just a bunch of words that rhyme.
00:12:20So are you a professional music writer then?
00:12:22No, I wish.
00:12:23But actually, I'm an IT guy.
00:12:25I fix computers and stuff like that.
00:12:27I'm actually here.
00:12:28The pastor called me in to fix his laptop.
00:12:31Well, this is a funny looking laptop.
00:12:33So do you fix them by singing to them?
00:12:35Yeah, that's it.
00:12:37But anyway, so you like music then?
00:12:39Of course, I have to love music.
00:12:40I'm the choir director here at the church.
00:12:42Oh, really?
00:12:43Yeah.
00:12:44Oh, so you know all about music then?
00:12:45I do.
00:12:46So you sing and do you play like instruments in too?
00:12:49No, we have other members that play the instruments.
00:12:51I just sing and direct the choir.
00:12:53Oh, that's pretty cool.
00:12:54So this song, seriously, what made you write it?
00:12:58Made me write it?
00:12:59What do you mean made me write it?
00:13:01No, you know what I mean.
00:13:02What's it really about?
00:13:03I don't know.
00:13:05I guess how, you know, yesterday kind of seems always better than today.
00:13:11Why would you think that?
00:13:12Gee, you are full of questions.
00:13:14I'm sorry.
00:13:15I just find it very interesting.
00:13:17No, I'm just giving you a hard time.
00:13:20I got to admit, I like talking about music and stuff.
00:13:23It's, you know, it's cool.
00:13:24It's nice to talk to somebody about it.
00:13:26But anyway, well, that's laptops updating.
00:13:30I was actually going to go grab a bite to eat, get some lunch.
00:13:34You interested in going with me?
00:13:36Well, don't you have to fix the laptop?
00:13:38No, seriously, it's only updating.
00:13:40It'll literally fix itself.
00:13:42Right.
00:13:43No, seriously, let's go grab some lunch.
00:13:46And don't let the long hair fool you.
00:13:48I'm completely harmless.
00:13:49I promise.
00:13:50And, you know, it'd be nice.
00:13:51It's nice to talk about music with somebody with a music background like you.
00:13:54So what do you say?
00:13:55You want to grab something to eat?
00:13:57Okay.
00:14:00So besides work and music, what else are you into?
00:14:03Well, I've got a cat and 11 turtles.
00:14:07Turtles?
00:14:08I didn't expect that one.
00:14:09Most people aren't, no.
00:14:11So are you in a band or something?
00:14:15Well, you know, I used to be for many years around here.
00:14:18I was in, you know, cover bands, bar bands like that.
00:14:21But I just got sick of playing other people's music and I really got sick of the bar scene.
00:14:25So, yeah, I literally, I put down the guitar and never touched it for maybe 15 years.
00:14:31And for some reason I picked it up and started writing and playing again.
00:14:36And, I don't know, I guess I get all the satisfaction I need out of music by creating.
00:14:42So is everything you write like what I heard you play at the church?
00:14:45No.
00:14:46I mean, a lot of it is, you know, like old school hard rock.
00:14:49That's what I used to listen to, what I still listen to.
00:14:53So that's kind of what I write like, a lot of the stuff's like that.
00:14:56You know, as far as, I don't know, I guess there's really no genre.
00:15:02I mean, I write all kinds of different music.
00:15:04It's kind of a feeling.
00:15:05It's whatever I'm feeling and thinking, I try to write words and music, you know, to kind of match that.
00:15:11So.
00:15:12That's really cool.
00:15:13You know, the only songs I work on were written like 400 years ago, but at least I'm singing, right?
00:15:19No, that's true, you know, as long as you're singing.
00:15:22Speaking of singing, I don't know, if you'd be interested maybe singing a song, one of my songs with me.
00:15:30What do you mean?
00:15:31Well, you know, I've got a song that I wrote that, you know, when I recorded what I've got so far, I always thought this would be a perfect male-female duet type of song.
00:15:40And it's not like anything you've heard yet.
00:15:44It's not a hard rock.
00:15:45It's not an ACDC song or anything.
00:15:47But I just think it's, I don't know, just a kind of a song that would sound good with a male-female voice.
00:15:53I'm confused.
00:15:55Well, what I'd do is I'd send you the song.
00:15:59I'll text it to you or email, whatever.
00:16:01And I'll send you the lyrics and you'd listen to the song.
00:16:04You'd come up with like a harmony part or something that you'd sing along with me.
00:16:07And once you're comfortable with it, let me know.
00:16:10We can get together and you can give it a try.
00:16:13We'll try singing it together.
00:16:15Yeah, I can try it.
00:16:16That sounds good.
00:16:18So, did you say, what was your computers done updating yet?
00:16:22Well, yeah, I would guess so.
00:16:24This was a pretty easy fix, I've got to admit.
00:16:28Usually I've got to go to all the trouble of turning them off and on before they work.
00:16:32Right.
00:16:33That always works.
00:16:34That always works, yeah.
00:16:35And that's the secret of my trade.
00:16:37You know.
00:16:38It's easier than singing 400-year-old church songs, right?
00:16:41True.
00:16:42Yeah.
00:16:43Are you going to go in the church center?
00:16:48Are you going to head home?
00:16:49What's your plan?
00:16:50I'll probably just head home.
00:16:51Okay.
00:16:52Well, here, let me, why don't you enter your number into my phone and then I will text you
00:17:03that song when I get home.
00:17:05And like I said, listen to it.
00:17:07If you think you want to sing it, think it would be fun to do, yeah, we'll give it a shot.
00:17:11That'd be great.
00:17:12If you think it's terrible, hey, tell me.
00:17:13I have no ego.
00:17:14I'm sure I'm going to love it.
00:17:16So, do you want to meet back here at 8?
00:17:18Meet here at the church?
00:17:19Yeah.
00:17:20Sounds good.
00:17:21All right.
00:17:22See you at 8.
00:17:23Bye.
00:17:24Thank you.
00:17:25All right.
00:17:26Well, you're ready to give this a shot?
00:17:35I am.
00:17:40You know the words and everything?
00:17:42I do.
00:17:43I've been very happy.
00:17:46I've been very happy.
00:18:03Je peux prendre mon laptop,
00:18:20Ok.
00:18:21Ok.
00:18:22Ok.
00:18:23Ok.
00:38:59Sous-titrage Société Radio-Canada
00:39:29...and then I was wondering if we could play that one more question game again.
00:39:35Sure, but if we're going to make a game out of it, we've got to come up with a cool game name, so how about One Honest Answer?
00:39:43I guess that's a pretty good name.
00:39:47You know, the other day you asked me if I was with anyone.
00:39:51But anyway, to answer your question, yes, I'm married.
00:39:55Whoa. Okay, uh, you don't wear a ring, though.
00:40:02Well, I lost it a few years ago, and he never replaced it, which I guess is fine.
00:40:08Okay, wow. Um, I guess, are you happy?
00:40:13Actually, there's more. I'm married to the pastor of the church.
00:40:21The pastor at the church? Fuck.
00:40:25Fuck. I'm sorry I shouldn't swear, but do you have any kids?
00:40:31We have two kids, and they're both in college.
00:40:35So, are you guys happy?
00:40:37I guess. I mean, I'm really not even sure, though, because we got married when I was only 18 years old,
00:40:44and back then I used to feel like his wife, but I really don't feel like that anymore.
00:40:50I just feel like the pastor's wife. Does that make sense?
00:40:54Yeah, it does, actually.
00:40:57But I have a question for you. Would you be here right now if he wasn't out of town?
00:41:02Honestly, I mean, I doubt it, but I don't want you to misunderstand me.
00:41:06It's not like I'm looking to have an affair or anything like that.
00:41:10I just heard your music at the church, and it kind of sparked an interest in me,
00:41:15and I just felt like I had to be honest with you.
00:41:19No, that's cool. It's been fun for me, too.
00:41:22I mean, it's fun to talk about music, and it gets kind of boring, you know,
00:41:26just making songs up for myself.
00:41:28Well, all I know is that I find the music really interesting,
00:41:32and it kind of gives me a purpose.
00:41:34Like, I feel like when I get up in the morning that I'm somebody more than just the pastor's wife.
00:41:39So, I'm sorry for the bombshell, though.
00:41:42No, it's cool.
00:41:44Seriously, I get it. I know what you're saying.
00:41:47I mean, it could be a lot worse, right?
00:41:50Yeah, I mean, you're right.
00:41:53Well, why don't you ask me a question now?
00:41:58Let's see.
00:42:00What's your biggest secret?
00:42:01Well, nice, broad question there.
00:42:06One honest answer, right?
00:42:08Right.
00:42:11Okay.
00:42:13I'll tell you, but I can't believe I'm going to tell you.
00:42:17But you've got to promise me one thing,
00:42:20that you will not tell anybody what I'm about to say.
00:42:23Okay, now you're scaring me.
00:42:26So, what's the deal?
00:42:28Are you like an escaped convict or alien or something?
00:42:32Alien?
00:42:33Yeah, that'd be cool.
00:42:35It'd be better than what I'm going to say, too,
00:42:36because the truth is I'm dying.
00:42:43Oh, that's a good one.
00:42:49Wait, you're serious?
00:42:53Are you serious?
00:42:55I have an inoperable brain tumor.
00:42:58They found it last year.
00:43:00I was taking meds to keep it from growing,
00:43:03but they weren't working.
00:43:07So, here I am.
00:43:12I don't get it.
00:43:13I mean, you look so healthy.
00:43:15Do you have any symptoms?
00:43:16I mean, I get tired occasionally
00:43:20and get a headache once in a while,
00:43:22but I don't know if that's because of what I have
00:43:25or just because that's normal.
00:43:28They say sometimes with these,
00:43:29there are no symptoms,
00:43:31so maybe that's what's happening to me.
00:43:35So, what does your family think?
00:43:38No, no family.
00:43:41Just my boss knows,
00:43:43and, of course, now you,
00:43:44do, but you promised
00:43:46you'll keep it a secret, right?
00:43:49Of course.
00:43:51I know what you want to ask next,
00:43:53but I'm sure you won't,
00:43:55so I'm just going to answer it for you.
00:43:57They don't know how long I have.
00:44:00It could be a day.
00:44:01It could be a week, a month, a year,
00:44:03two years.
00:44:05They won't tell me,
00:44:06or they don't know.
00:44:07I'm not sure which one.
00:44:10So, you're telling me
00:44:11that nothing can be done?
00:44:12I don't know what you're doing.
00:44:14No.
00:44:16I guess that's the answer
00:44:18to the first question you ever asked me,
00:44:20is why I didn't hit on you.
00:44:23And the reason is because
00:44:24I don't think it would be fair to anyone
00:44:26to be involved with me,
00:44:28knowing what I know.
00:44:29I wouldn't want to hurt someone that way.
00:44:36I mean, look at you.
00:44:37I mean, you're almost crying.
00:44:39You've only known me for a couple of days.
00:44:41And, you know,
00:44:41imagine how bad you'd feel if,
00:44:44you know, if you loved me.
00:44:49I'm sorry.
00:44:49I just don't know what to say.
00:44:51I mean, I look at it this way.
00:44:55We could die at any second.
00:44:56I mean, a truck could hit us
00:44:58and that'd be it.
00:45:00Everybody dies.
00:45:02I guess I just have a little more insight
00:45:04about when I'm going to die.
00:45:08Is there anything that I can do to help?
00:45:10I mean, maybe I could start a prayer circle
00:45:13at the church or something.
00:45:14No, no.
00:45:15Really, there's...
00:45:17Just keep it to yourself.
00:45:18I mean, I've made my peace with it.
00:45:22I've made my peace with God,
00:45:24believe it or not.
00:45:29Not sure if this helps or says anything,
00:45:32but I'm good.
00:45:35If God wants me, He can have me.
00:45:37I'm okay with that.
00:45:42Okay.
00:45:43Just kind of let me get a hold of myself.
00:45:46I'm a little shocked.
00:45:46Um, let me ask you this then.
00:45:50What's your wish?
00:45:53What do you mean?
00:45:54You know, like, make a wish.
00:45:56What would your wish be?
00:45:58You know, I don't think I could have
00:46:00even answered that a week ago.
00:46:03But being able to share my music with you,
00:46:05it kind of opened my eyes a little bit.
00:46:08and I guess my wish would be to be able to share my music with the world.
00:46:19I mean, music's been good for me.
00:46:21It's been keeping my mind off the tumor.
00:46:23and being able to share it with you,
00:46:27I guess I'd like to share it with others.
00:46:31I think you're incredibly talented,
00:46:33and I think you should do it.
00:46:35I mean, why don't you do it?
00:46:36Your songs are great.
00:46:38Well, it's really not that simple.
00:46:39I mean, the stuff I sent you is such low quality,
00:46:43and it's drum machines,
00:46:45and it's, you know, it's embarrassing.
00:46:48I can never send that to a label.
00:46:49I mean, I'd need to get a,
00:46:51get these things professionally recorded with real musicians,
00:46:55and, you know,
00:46:56to have any chance of a label listening to it.
00:46:58No, no, I'm, I'm sorry, I was just thinking.
00:47:04Um, I tell you what,
00:47:06I have choir practice tonight,
00:47:08but I'll be done about 7.30.
00:47:10You want to meet me at the church?
00:47:12Well, yeah, but is it even okay now?
00:47:16Trust me, just meet me then.
00:47:24What do you think you are doing?
00:47:26What are you talking about?
00:47:29The man with the long hair.
00:47:30What do you think your husband or the church
00:47:32would think about you hanging out with him?
00:47:34That is none of your business,
00:47:36and it's certainly not the church's business.
00:47:38I was left in charge when Pastor left,
00:47:40so it is my business.
00:47:42First of all, I haven't done anything wrong.
00:47:45And second of all,
00:47:46I advise you to keep your nose out of my business.
00:47:48Because if you don't keep your nose out of it,
00:47:50I will let everybody know
00:47:52what you keep in the top drawer of your desk.
00:47:54There is nothing in there.
00:47:57I just happen to have a video on my phone
00:47:59of what's in your desk.
00:48:01As a matter of fact,
00:48:02I have several videos like that.
00:48:04And if you don't knock it off,
00:48:06I just might happen to upload them
00:48:08to the church's server.
00:48:10Hey guys, how's it going?
00:48:12I'm hey, I'm fascinated.
00:48:13I wanted to introduce you to our guitar player.
00:48:15He plays guitar for me here at the church.
00:48:17Nice to meet you.
00:48:18Nice to meet you.
00:48:19I hear you're a songwriter
00:48:20and I heard that disc you put together.
00:48:22Great stuff.
00:48:23Really?
00:48:24Well, thanks.
00:48:25Very talented, isn't he?
00:48:26Yes, he is.
00:48:26And you are too.
00:48:28I am?
00:48:28You must say.
00:48:29You both are.
00:48:29Okay.
00:48:31Actually, what he didn't tell you
00:48:32is that he used to be a rock legend
00:48:34back in the day.
00:48:35Didn't you?
00:48:35I recognize, you know,
00:48:41you used to play the lead
00:48:42from Crash Alley, right?
00:48:44That was me.
00:48:46I can't believe you remember that.
00:48:47I mean, you must be really old.
00:48:48No, you guys were great, and I am.
00:48:50But yeah, you guys were fantastic.
00:48:53Thank you.
00:48:54You're too kind.
00:48:57You know, so what's your plans
00:48:59with these, you know,
00:49:00the songs I heard on this disc are great.
00:49:03What are you going to do with it?
00:49:04Well, ideally, I don't think
00:49:07he'd like to record them
00:49:08and send them off to a label.
00:49:10Well, yeah, I mean,
00:49:11that would be the ultimate goal,
00:49:13I mean, to record them.
00:49:14But I mean, as you could hear
00:49:15on the recording,
00:49:15I mean, it's just a drum machine
00:49:16and pretty lo-fi stuff.
00:49:18So yeah, I mean,
00:49:19to record it would be great,
00:49:20but I have no idea how, you know,
00:49:22how would I even accomplish
00:49:23something like that.
00:49:24You know, who would I get
00:49:25to play along with it,
00:49:26you know, type of thing.
00:49:27Forgive me if I'm overstepping,
00:49:28but if you're looking
00:49:29for a guitar player,
00:49:31I'd be honored to play
00:49:32on these songs.
00:49:32And I know a drummer
00:49:34would be perfect for this stuff.
00:49:36And if he hears the stuff,
00:49:38I know he'd say yes.
00:49:41Well, you know,
00:49:42that'd be totally awesome.
00:49:44I mean, you know,
00:49:45that's just what I'm looking for.
00:49:47But how would we actually
00:49:49do the recording?
00:49:50Do you have any ideas there?
00:49:51There's, you know,
00:49:52a lot of gear here,
00:49:53and they've recorded
00:49:54some church projects and stuff.
00:49:57Well, that's really cool.
00:49:59But do you think
00:49:59it would sound good in here?
00:50:00I mean, what are the acoustics like?
00:50:01Oh, this would be great
00:50:03for drums.
00:50:04It's very churchy.
00:50:05You know, it's funny you say that
00:50:06because there's been
00:50:07a lot of rock recordings
00:50:08that have been done
00:50:09in churches.
00:50:09Oh, really?
00:50:10Yeah, seriously.
00:50:11Yeah.
00:50:12Yeah, so.
00:50:13All right.
00:50:14Well, maybe.
00:50:17Kind of embarrassed.
00:50:18Maybe I don't need to ask this,
00:50:19but I mean, I can't.
00:50:20I can't transcribe
00:50:22into the music.
00:50:23I just do it by ear.
00:50:24So.
00:50:25We'll just listen to the songs,
00:50:27learn them by ear
00:50:28like we have for years.
00:50:29sit down
00:50:30and work out
00:50:31some arrangements
00:50:32that you approved of
00:50:33and then go for it.
00:50:34Yeah, I mean,
00:50:35add,
00:50:36do whatever you want
00:50:36to on these things
00:50:37and tell the drummer
00:50:38the same thing.
00:50:39Do what he needs to do
00:50:40because, you know,
00:50:41everybody should,
00:50:42you know,
00:50:42contribute creatively,
00:50:44I think.
00:50:45And, yeah,
00:50:46I mean,
00:50:46I can,
00:50:47you know,
00:50:47you got the songs,
00:50:48I guess,
00:50:49I don't know,
00:50:49how many should be,
00:50:50maybe five or six,
00:50:51five or six songs?
00:50:52Five point two.
00:50:55Five point two.
00:50:56Okay.
00:50:57He's a funny guy.
00:50:58Okay, yeah,
00:50:59we'll say six then
00:51:00because I don't like your answer.
00:51:02Just kidding.
00:51:03Six songs.
00:51:04Six point three.
00:51:06I'll get you those here.
00:51:08Why don't you,
00:51:09why don't you put your number in here
00:51:11and I'll have it
00:51:13and I can text you
00:51:14and, you know,
00:51:16with the songs that we want to do,
00:51:17thinking about doing,
00:51:19and we'll go from there.
00:51:20Now, what about your end?
00:51:21I mean, get in the church.
00:51:22I mean, I don't,
00:51:24why can we do this?
00:51:26Well,
00:51:27the pastor comes back tomorrow.
00:51:31I'm not sure how he's going to feel about it.
00:51:34But,
00:51:34I don't know if I should even ask.
00:51:37I,
00:51:38you know,
00:51:39we could probably just do it at night.
00:51:40Nobody need to know.
00:51:42Just coming here
00:51:43when the place is closed up.
00:51:44That's rock and roll.
00:51:44Nobody never knows.
00:51:45That's rock and roll.
00:51:46All right.
00:51:47Well,
00:51:48you know,
00:51:48if you think it'll work,
00:51:49I'm willing.
00:51:51So,
00:51:51I'm willing to take the risk.
00:51:53Well,
00:51:54as you both know,
00:51:56musicians don't make much money.
00:51:58So,
00:51:58I got to go deliver some pizzas.
00:52:00All right.
00:52:01We'll see you.
00:52:02See you.
00:52:02Bye.
00:52:04Wow.
00:52:05Yeah.
00:52:06I can't believe this is going to happen.
00:52:08Right?
00:52:08Wow.
00:52:09This is really exciting.
00:52:11It really is.
00:52:11Thank you.
00:52:12You're welcome.
00:52:13I'm so excited to do it.
00:52:14I got one more favor to ask.
00:52:15Actually, it's not a favor.
00:52:16It's something I insist on.
00:52:18Oh, no.
00:52:18What?
00:52:20You got to sing on this recording.
00:52:21No.
00:52:22No, I'm sorry.
00:52:22On the recording with you?
00:52:23Yeah.
00:52:24Sing back up like you were singing or singing,
00:52:26you know,
00:52:26with me.
00:52:27Sing some harmonies.
00:52:28But you got to be on it.
00:52:30Can I think about it?
00:52:31No.
00:52:33Okay.
00:52:34Okay.
00:52:34I'll do it.
00:52:34All right.
00:52:35Good.
00:52:36Good deal.
00:52:37Now,
00:52:37now the fun part,
00:52:39I got to pick out like six songs for us to do.
00:52:41You want to help me?
00:52:42Yeah.
00:52:42All right.
00:52:43Let's go out in the car.
00:52:44I got everything on there.
00:52:45Whoa.
00:52:45Now when I say it,
00:52:48it sounds like what we should do.
00:52:56I want you to see.
00:53:01I'll recognize perfectly.
00:53:05Did you get my stuff packed?
00:53:26What are you wearing anyway?
00:53:28Hope you dress a little more decent before you go to the church today.
00:53:31By the way,
00:53:35those blinds are filthy.
00:53:37You know I'm allergic to dust.
00:53:39And I'm allergic to creams.
00:54:01and I'm allergic to dust.
00:54:01And I'm allergic to dust.
00:54:02I'm allergic to dust.
00:54:02And I'm allergic to dust.
00:54:03And I'm allergic to dust.
00:54:03And I'm allergic to dust.
00:54:04And I'm allergic to dust.
00:54:21Hey,
00:54:21guys.
00:54:22Hey,
00:54:22how's it going?
00:54:23Good.
00:54:23This is the drummer I was telling you about.
00:54:25Hey,
00:54:25nice to meet you.
00:54:26Hey,
00:54:26nice to meet you too.
00:54:27The songs sound great.
00:54:28Looking forward to recording them.
00:54:30The doors are locked.
00:54:32And she's not here yet.
00:54:33Have you heard anything?
00:54:34No,
00:54:34I thought she'd be here already.
00:54:36Well,
00:54:37I hope she hurries up.
00:54:38We've got a lot to do.
00:54:39I haven't even set up yet.
00:54:41Hey,
00:54:42guys,
00:54:42come on in.
00:54:44Violet.
00:54:47Oh,
00:54:48easy,
00:54:49brother.
00:54:51I don't like this.
00:54:52I don't like her.
00:54:52You look great.
00:55:00Well,
00:55:00thank you.
00:55:00Total rock of you.
00:55:02Wow.
00:55:02Well,
00:55:03what about you?
00:55:04Well,
00:55:04because I have buttons on my shirt?
00:55:06Yeah.
00:55:06And this is like my formal wear,
00:55:08so.
00:55:08Right.
00:55:09But no,
00:55:09seriously,
00:55:10I got to ask,
00:55:11does your husband know you're here?
00:55:13No,
00:55:14he doesn't.
00:55:15You're still okay with doing this?
00:55:17I am.
00:55:17Okay.
00:55:18It'll be fine.
00:55:19It'll be fine.
00:55:20Those are the words I was waiting to hear.
00:55:22It'll be fine.
00:55:23So,
00:55:24I guess we're about ready to go.
00:55:25You ready?
00:55:26I am ready.
00:55:27Cool.
00:55:27Cool.
00:55:49The end is the best way to start
00:55:57Once the dust settles
00:56:01And rip that world apart
00:56:03Time to make it come alive
00:56:08Crack that whip
00:56:12And get it into overdrive
00:56:15Go for the wind
00:56:20Then do it again
00:56:23The time is now
00:56:26Because the new day's coming
00:56:28You won't miss time
00:56:32It's a wild ride
00:56:35Hold your head up high
00:56:38Because the new day's coming
00:56:41Tear the house down
00:56:44Tear the house down
00:56:47Tear the house now
00:56:50This old day's coming
00:56:52от
00:56:53Have it added
00:56:54I could have made it
00:56:55Because the new day's coming
00:56:55People see how the yellow
00:56:57Is there an item
00:56:59That's their way
00:57:00I could also
00:57:02mamma
00:57:03May have it
00:57:04I could love
00:57:05To boot
00:57:06Qui
00:57:07Do
00:57:09I could
00:57:12I could
00:57:14Can
00:57:14I could
00:57:15Let
00:57:17You
00:57:17Ty
00:57:18I could
01:02:08Alors bon, puis on va me écouter cette musique
01:02:11Juste j'ai vu
01:02:14Just once, I ask you to let me do something for me so that I feel like an individual and not just the pastor's wife.
01:02:22And I can't believe that I even have to say this to you, but it's the Christian thing to do.
01:02:28All right, then. What do you want?
01:02:31So we are practicing in the church tonight so that tomorrow we can record them and send them off to record labels.
01:02:38You know, I do know someone. Do you remember Mike, the sound engineer?
01:02:42I can see if he'll come by. Maybe he's willing to help.
01:02:46Okay, that sounds good. Thank you. It really means a lot to me.
01:02:50So I guess I'm going to text the guys and let them know. They'll be really excited.
01:02:55Oh, no. I got this, and I'm taking your phone.
01:03:02You know, I didn't hear a thing from her.
01:03:04Uh-oh.
01:03:05Have you checked? Is it open?
01:03:06It is open. There's a meeting down in the basement.
01:03:09Yeah, you said that.
01:03:09Yeah. Well, if we can't record, I really just want to get my drum.
01:03:12Oh, yeah.
01:03:13I haven't even changed clothes from yesterday.
01:03:15Yeah. I haven't showered.
01:03:17I hear you.
01:03:18Well, it's just...
01:03:19It's early, so...
01:03:20Let's just go get our stuff.
01:03:20Let's just get it.
01:03:21Yeah.
01:03:21All right.
01:03:26Hey, guys. We're over here. Come on over.
01:03:32Hey, guys. How's it going?
01:03:34Oh, pretty good.
01:03:35Great.
01:03:36How are you doing?
01:03:36Doing okay.
01:03:37Say, I've heard you guys practice, and I figured you guys could probably use a sound guy.
01:03:41This is Mike.
01:03:42Hey, guys.
01:03:43Mike, nice to meet you.
01:03:44Nice to meet you.
01:03:44Nice to meet you. I've heard your work. It sounds great.
01:03:46Thanks. I appreciate that.
01:03:47I've got kind of a portable setup here, and the room sounds really good. I think we can make a really good recording of it.
01:03:53I see Mike's on the drum. I haven't seen before.
01:03:55Most of them, yeah.
01:03:57Okay.
01:03:57Brought a few from the church, but most of them are mine. But, yeah, I think it's going to be great.
01:04:01As long as we get the good basics in the church, you know, the big thing is the drums. Anything after that, we can usually overdub.
01:04:08Okay.
01:04:09If anybody's got recording capabilities at the house, we can just take it there and bring all the files back to my computer, and it'll sound great.
01:04:16Right.
01:04:17So what's up?
01:04:17And you're here, too.
01:04:18Yeah.
01:04:19All right. Well, I guess we can get started.
01:04:22Okay. Everyone ready? We're rolling. Here comes the click.
01:04:25We'll be right back.
01:04:55We'll be right back.
01:05:25Let me tell you what I want to hear.
01:05:29Fill me high.
01:05:31Because the whole thing is a deal.
01:05:36There's a lot of pressure
01:05:38To make the deal.
01:05:43Blow off that ego.
01:05:46The mind is unreal.
01:05:48It's not the fear.
01:05:49It's not the fear.
01:05:51It's not the fear.
01:05:52It's just a part of life.
01:05:55I want to get to love.
01:05:59I'll take some nights.
01:06:02Fill me high.
01:06:05Let me hear what I want to hear.
01:06:09Fill me high.
01:06:12Let's all the hope and disappear.
01:06:13There's no need to do.
01:06:14There's no need to do.
01:06:15There's no need to do.
01:06:16There's no need to do.
01:06:19There's no need to do.
01:06:22There's no need to do.
01:06:23There's no need to do.
01:06:24There's no need to do.
01:06:28There's no need to do.
01:11:08Time is coming
01:11:10Like a house without a roof
01:11:18I'm wondering

01:17:52Hey, nice to see you, how's it going?
01:17:54Come on in.
01:17:55Good to see you.
01:17:56Yeah, good to see you.
01:17:57Want something to drink?
01:17:58Iced tea if you have it, please.
01:17:59Sure, have a seat.
01:18:00Thanks.
01:18:01So here's what I did.
01:18:03I made up a bunch of these CDs.
01:18:06I actually had the CDs printed on them.
01:18:08We had a printer at work that somebody brought in to have fixed,
01:18:12and they never picked it up, and I checked it out.
01:18:14It actually prints on CDs and DVDs, so heck, I used that.
01:18:18And then I did a little photoshopping.
01:18:20I made, you know, those pictures that we took,
01:18:22and then I put some, like, information about the band
01:18:24and sent them out, sent them to, I think, 32 labels.
01:18:27Cool.
01:18:28Can I check one out?
01:18:29Well, actually, these are for you.
01:18:31Okay, thanks.
01:18:32Take these, and I assume you're going to see the other guys before I will,
01:18:35so if you want to, you know, give them a copy or whatever.
01:18:37Yeah, for sure.
01:18:39You know, but I'm just thrilled how everything sounded.
01:18:43This is really cool.
01:18:45This is perfect.
01:18:46This is something I've kind of wanted to do for a long time,
01:18:49and I found my partner, it seems like, and we're working well together,
01:18:53and heck, we should go on indefinitely.
01:18:57Just keep doing it.
01:18:58I mean, maybe play a show or something here or there,
01:19:01but just keep writing and recording.
01:19:03Maybe we can get some interest, get some deals,
01:19:05or if not, hand them out to our friends,
01:19:07but let's keep doing it.
01:19:09This is a blast.
01:19:10Let's do this for years to come.
01:19:13What do you think?
01:19:15She didn't tell you, man?
01:19:17No, she didn't.
01:19:18What was she supposed to tell me?
01:19:20No, no, just that she said the pastor's cool with her doing it, too,
01:19:24so she'll keep going with us.
01:19:26Oh, okay, great.
01:19:27Yeah.
01:19:28Awesome.
01:19:29Well, so here's doing it for years, huh?
01:19:30Yeah.
01:19:31Absolutely.
01:19:32Thanks for asking.
01:19:33No, but seriously, that was a brilliant idea to record the guitars dry and wet,
01:19:40because when you re-amp the guitars, oh my gosh, that sounds huge.
01:19:45You made those guitars sound huge.
01:19:47Well, I can't take all the credit.
01:19:50I mean, that's an industry standard.
01:19:52Maybe not at our level, but it just makes sense to me,
01:19:56and then I don't have to go back and redo it later.
01:19:58No.
01:19:59You know, recreate the performance.
01:20:00It's already there, so.
01:20:04You okay?
01:20:05You don't look so good.
01:20:06Are you feeling all right?
01:20:07Oh, man, I feel like crap.
01:20:09You want me to take you to the hospital or something?
01:20:12No, it's not my head.
01:20:14It's my stomach.
01:20:15I had a breakfast sandwich this morning.
01:20:17I swear the ham was green.
01:20:19It is kicking my ass right now.
01:20:22Gosh.
01:20:23Are you sure?
01:20:24Yeah, I'm sure.
01:20:26If you don't mind, though, maybe I could just go home for a couple hours
01:20:30and get this out of my system.
01:20:31Not a problem.
01:20:32Okay.
01:20:33Let me do that, and I'll give you a call or I'll be back in a couple hours.
01:20:38All right.
01:20:39Just don't rush.
01:20:40Just do what you need to do, okay?
01:20:41Okay.
01:20:42Thanks.
01:20:43Thanks again.
01:20:49Jason...
01:20:50Twitter...

01:23:09Sometimes yesterday fades away

01:23:43When yesterday is all we have
01:23:48Hold on tight

01:25:08One more time is what I need
01:25:13To remember the reasons
01:25:17That I get out of bed
01:25:22To get dressed
01:25:34One more time to feel the warmth
01:25:38I get when I remember
01:25:43To look forward to
01:25:48And I look back
01:25:52It's all that real is
01:25:57It's really all I want
01:26:01But I'm lucky it happened at all

01:26:14But I can love
01:26:16And why can't I do that instead
01:26:23I guess I need a plan
01:26:27To try and understand
01:26:31And why it seems like giving time
01:26:34Giving time
01:26:36I feel like I lose my mind
01:26:41One more time to see your face light up
01:26:53And one more time to feel the reason it does
