Liverpool boss Slot outlines transfer message ahead of summer dealings

00:00Liverpool head coach Arnie Schlott has made clear that he wants good players to be signed

00:05for Liverpool to help them defend their Premier League title in the next Premier League season.

00:10He says it will be a tough transfer window over the summer but Liverpool have been doing

00:15lots of work behind the scenes to make sure that they are ready and prepared for it to

00:19bring in the players that they would like.

00:22We just want good players and ideally you sign them as soon as you can but it's not

00:29always easy to sign good players, let alone to sign them early in the window but this

00:36club doesn't start working from today onwards.

00:41There's so much hard work being done behind the scenes already this season to find out

00:45which targets we have and try to sign them that I have all the confidence that if we've

00:53addressed the right player that we try to sign that player but let's see when that's going

01:05to happen and if that's going to happen because I'm very happy with the squad we already have.

01:09And Everton manager David Moyes has made clear that he wants to keep some of the big characters

01:14currently in the Everton dressing room at the club going into next season to make sure

01:19that the atmosphere at the new stadium is as good as possible.

01:23Well I hope that we can take everything that we showed today, I think the players and what's

01:29inside the dressing room, they're real big characters and I hope we can keep it.

01:37It's a lot of that which the club has been built around over years and years, way before

01:40my time but hopefully my first time as well and I think they showed today, they showed great

01:45resilience and never given in at any time and Newcastle had some opportunities to score.

01:52Maybe it wasn't their day but let's be fair, we had a few opportunities to score as well

01:56and could have maybe scored again.

01:58So for us to come up here and give Newcastle a game with the form they've been in and how

02:03well they've done this season, it gives us hope that we can take something new into the

02:08new stadium but more importantly is for us to get good as an inside the new stadium, that's

02:13what we really want.
