The Wall Street Journal has released its annual list of the highest paid CEOs and there's a new
00:04
name at the top. The CEO who made the most money in 2024 is Axon Enterprise's Rick Smith. Smith,
00:10
who co-founded Axon, which makes Taser stun guns, raked in $165 million in pay last year. He received
00:16
an incredible 999% pay increase from 2023. Rounding out the top five are General Electric's Larry
00:23
Kulp, Blackstone's Steven Schwartzman, Apple's Tim Cook and KKR's Joseph Bae. Every CEO in the
00:28
top 10 made more than $60 million last year. Other notable names on the list include JP Morgan's
00:34
Jamie Dimon at 23, Meta's Mark Zuckerberg at 63 and Elon Musk, who ranked last as he made $0 as CEO
00:41
in 2024. Last year's top-earning CEO, Broadcom's Hawk Tan, fell all the way to number 407, taking home
00:48
roughly $2.5 million. According to the Journal's report, roughly half of the 417 CEOs it analyzed
00:54
made at least $17.1 million. That's up from $15.8 million the year before. That'll do it for
01:00
your daily briefing. From New York City, I'm Kelsey Barbario with The Street.
