00:00Welcome to WatchMojo, and today we're counting down the films that
00:10enraptured us to such an extent that they left no room for any kind of
00:13distraction. There will be music, romantic candlelight, provided by myself, and when
00:21the moment is right, you confess your love. Number 10, John Wick Chapter 4.
00:27No matter what anyone says, action is an art form. It takes a special breed to be
00:40able to convey combat, gunplay, and explosions in such a way that modern
00:44audiences are left dazzled rather than bored, and few do it better than Keanu
00:48Reeves. Truth be told, you can pick any of the John Wick movies, and you'll have
00:52yourself a damn fun time, but the fourth entry is especially relentless.
00:56I'm going to need a gun. I thought you'd never ask. You'll barely have a moment to
01:03breathe before Mr. Wick is thrown into another seemingly impossible fight, from
01:07which he'll naturally escape through sheer force of will and next-level kills. What
01:10would be generic in the hands of lesser filmmakers becomes a varied and
01:14exhilarating rondo of ruin and rampages in the hands of Keanu and the rest of the
01:19team. No idea how they plan on topping this for the sequel.
01:21Consequences. Number 9, Beauty and the Beast.
01:25I want adventure in the great white somewhere. I want it more than I can tell.
01:34Disney is getting a colossal amount of flack these days due to their live-action
01:39remakes, deservedly or otherwise. So what better time than to dive back into the
01:43classics and admire the Mouse House back when they were arguably at their animated peak.
01:46We've got a lot to do. Is it one love for two? For you our guest.
01:52She's our guest. She's our guest.
01:55Belle and the Beast's romance remains a timeless triumph whether you're a sucker for the songs,
01:59or spellbound by the hand-drawn animation, or simply captivated at how the love story unfolds.
02:04Remakes come and go, but we dare anyone to strap in to watch the original and not be enchanted by the experience.
02:10Tale as old as time, song as old as rhyme, beauty and the beast.
02:19Number 8, Oldboy.
02:21Korean cinema has always had a rawness to it that few could hope to match,
02:25especially when it comes to the grittiness of its more psychologically testing titles.
02:28Oldboy isn't only a great entry point for newcomers, but stands at the pinnacle when it comes to both
02:33action as well as exploring the depths of human depravity.
02:54After being imprisoned by an unknown assailant for seemingly no reason at all,
02:57only to be inexplicably released 15 years later,
03:00Daesu embarks on a one-man war for both revenge and answers.
03:21Only for things to take the darkest of turns. Your soul might shrivel by the end,
03:25but you won't be able to look away for a second.
03:33Number 7, Pan's Labyrinth.
03:35Nobody does dark fantasy quite like Del Toro, and arguably, his masterpiece can be found in this flick
03:54that blends together the whimsy of a child with the harsh realities of the Francoist period.
03:59The creature designs remain some of the best to ever be committed to celluloid.
04:13The horrors of Ophelia's mystical world, along with the ruthless killings of guerrilla rebels at the
04:18hands of the terrifying Captain Vidal, are a grim match in heaven, evoking an atmosphere that's as
04:23sinister as it is surreal. And yet, it remains wholly beautiful, keeping you guessing as to whether the
04:35magic of the fawn is merely imagination, truly real, or something in between.
04:40Number 6, Pulp Fiction.
04:42Tarantino does what Tarantino does best, and that is a non-linear tale of crime, capers,
04:52and carnage. All helmed together by some of the richest dialogue to be printed on a script.
04:57Pulp Fiction is arguably the jewel in his crown, showcasing every Tarantino-ism you could possibly
05:02fit into a movie. Duplicitous anti-heroes, iconic quotes, plenty of people getting shot,
05:16perfect use of licensed music, and the craziest of subplots, all expertly tied up together in a
05:22blood-soaked bow. We doubt there's one moviegoer who wasn't locked in after hearing Jules Ezekiel's
05:27speech. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to
05:36poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know my name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon thee.
05:46Number 5, Get Out.
05:48Half the brilliance of Jordan Peele's tour de force of a horror movie is realizing it's a horror movie in
06:06the first place. Tapping into the zeitgeist of racism and racial profiling through the prism of
06:11an unsettling thriller, watching Chris struggle to uncover the strange happenings of the Armitage
06:16family will leave you shaken. Or in many cases, sunken. As a horror film, it exceeds all expectations,
06:30drawing from real world issues to craft an out of the box nightmare that had every audience member
06:34screaming for Chris to get the hell out of Dodge. Number 4, Spirited Away.
06:43The magic of Ghibli is all-encompassing. You can pick any title from their vast catalog and you're
06:50going to find yourself transported, mainly due to the gorgeousness of their signature animation style.
06:59Though among their pantheon, none strikes a chord or commands more attention,
07:03quite like Spirited Away. The tale of a young girl unknowingly drawn into the world of spirits
07:08and having to find a way to save her parents is simple, yet elegant. While the landscape and
07:13accompanying visuals are beyond splendid. Even if you consider yourself the most ardent of anime
07:17haters, we guarantee you'll adore this. Will we meet again sometime? Sure we will. Promise? Promise.
07:24Now go and don't look back. Number 3, Mad Max Fury Road. Oh, what a lovely day. To spend watching one of the
07:32greatest films to ever be set in a post-apocalyptic wasteland. George Miller's cinematic return was
07:41nothing less than a triumph, putting all others in the genre on blast due to the extravagant action as
07:47the less than mentally stable Max ends up entangled with a group of runaway women seeking freedom from
07:52a vile warlord. Led by the now iconic imperator, Furiosa. Just when you think you've seen all there
08:01is to see when it comes to things going boom on screen, you get set pieces involving an armada of
08:06weaponized cars burning rubber through a desert, while a blind dude in pajamas plays a flamethrower
08:11laced guitar in the background. Now that's metal. Number 2, The Dark Knight. You either die a hero,
08:26or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain. Batman films come and go, but there's only
08:32one cinematic outing starring the Cade Crusader that is considered a masterpiece across the board.
08:37More akin to a police procedural instead of your standard comic book flick, Batman's
08:41clash with Gotham's underworld reaches a fever pitch with the introduction of the Joker.
08:57Heath Ledger's take on the Clown Prince of Crime alone warrants a viewing. His performance is just
09:01that chilling and just that magnetic. Whether you love all things Batman, or just an excellently
09:06constructed neo-noir with phenomenal action, this film is going to leave you with one big smile on
09:12your face. Before we continue, be sure to subscribe to our channel and ring the bell to get notified

09:31Number 1. The Lord of the Rings – The Fellowship of the Ring
09:36There are cinematic landmarks, and then there's the Lord of the Rings trilogy.
09:40Nine companions.
09:44So be it. You shall be the Fellowship of the Ring.
09:50Right. Where are we going?
09:53Even if you think yourself completely adverse to all forms of fantasy, there's no looking
09:57away once Frodo finds himself tasked to embark on a perilous journey to destroy the dreaded One Ring.
10:02But all three individual films are epic in scope, The Fellowship of the Ring pulled double duty by
10:07introducing us to the vastness of Tolkien's world, whilst organically conveying the struggles of its
10:11characters.
10:12So do all who live to see such times, but that is not for them to decide.
10:17All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us.
10:22As flawless in its filmmaking, as it is fantastical with its story,
10:25going there and back again will have you utterly engrossed from the first scene onwards.
10:30I made a promise, Mr. Frodo. A promise. Don't you leave him, Samwise Gamgee.
10:38And I don't mean to.
10:40Which movie would you ignore all calls for?
