Bangkok streets awash with rainbows on Pride parade
The streets of Thailand's capital Bangkok were filled with rainbow flags, music and joy as the Thai LGBT community celebrate Pride Month on Sunday, June 1.
Thousands of LGBTQ+ revelers, activists, visitors and members of the public got together for the parade along a 3-kilometer (1.9-mile) route where participants waved Pride flags.
There were vibrant processions featuring decorated trucks and dancing drag queens, intricate face paint, and a diverse array of identity flags, all under the theme 'Born This Way.'
The parade came after Thailand became the first country in Southeast Asia—and the third territory in Asia after Taiwan and Nepal—to legalize marriage for same-sex couples in January 2025.
