Taiwan is known for its leadership on LGBTQ rights in Asia. Now the country's activists are heading to Japan to share their message of pride, progress and diversity. With a float inspired by the country's tallest mountain and the chip industry, "Team Taiwan" is joining Tokyo Rainbow Pride to show Asia what the future of equality can look like.

00:00Taiwan is known for its LGBTQ plus rights. This was the first country in Asia to legalize
00:06same-sex marriage and its host of the largest Pride Parade in the region every October.
00:11But now members of the community are preparing to take the show on the road. This is the
00:15team heading to Tokyo this weekend for the annual Tokyo Rainbow Pride Parade.
00:21They're hoping to showcase the diversity of Taiwan's LGBTQ plus community and to
00:29share some of Taiwan's most famous things such as Taiwan's highest mountain Yushan
00:35and its famous semiconductor industry.
00:37We invited 8 different models. These 8 models have different
00:41性別, different ages, different性別展現. And we're wearing a
00:46same outfit and we hope to be able to show the多元化.
00:51We hope to use a variety of ways to tell the world and to
00:56Japan is standing on the same page to show the future of LGBTQ.
01:02Since Taiwan's landmark legalization of same-sex marriage, activists here have
01:07been working with their partners across the region to help promote better
01:11LGBTQ rights, whether it's same-sex marriage or better protections for gender
01:15and sexual minorities. But this weekend, they're also hoping to show that
