00:00The first season of a new era for the UEFA Champions League edges closer to
00:10the culmination of a thrilling campaign. Liverpool finished top of the inaugural
00:15league phase, while Manchester City avoided an unceremonious exit on matchday
00:21eight. And the knockout rounds only ramped up the tension.
00:26Celtic ran German Giants by and close, but Davis saved the day.
00:33The Madrid derby gave us all the drama we could have dreamed of. PSG knocked out
00:41Liverpool in a gripping shootout. Arsenal stunned the holders and the goals kept
00:49raining in one of the best ever semi-finals as Inter ousted Barcelona. It's all been
00:55leading to this. PSG against Inter. Welcome to the UEFA Champions League final highlights show.
01:09This is how the finalists made it through. Paris put fellow French side Brest to the
01:13sword with a 10-0 aggregate victory in the knockout playoff round. Before three exciting ties against
01:19English clubs, Liverpool, Aston Villa and Arsenal carried them into this showpiece
01:23event. Inter qualified directly for the round of 16 where they comfortably beat
01:28final 4-1 on aggregate. Then Davide Frattese's late first leg goal in tonight's venue against
01:34Bayern was the difference as Inter went through 4-3 winners overall. And in the tie of the tournament,
01:41the Italians overcame free-scoring Barcelona 7-6 in extra time. With excitement mounting in Munich,
01:49we caught up with both sides getting ready to meet on the biggest stage of all.
01:55Inter enjoyed a successful first league phase finishing fourth and conceding just once along
02:01the way. But PSG went four consecutive games without winning to put their prospects of progressing
02:08in serious jeopardy. Honestly, I think that now, with only one match left,
02:15the final, if we were to analyse everything that has happened in the UEFA Champions League
02:21this season, I think it would make a great thriller or horror film, or even a very good series,
02:28because it has had a bit of everything. It's been a long journey to get to the final.
02:35We got there step by step. Of course, what everyone remembers most is the last two games against
02:42Barcelona. If we go back to the quarter-finals against Bayern Munich, it's incredibly tough
02:48too. They're a great team, well-organised, physical. So for us, that quarter-final felt like a final.
02:57Those four matches were played at an incredible intensity.
03:04Inter lost their last final in 2023 against Manchester City, as memories of their last success in this competition
03:1015 years ago slipped further away.
03:17I think to experience another final on this scale, in this competition, is going to be incredible.
03:25It's a dream that is within our reach again, and I don't even want to think about whether or not
03:32I'm going to achieve this goal that we all want. And one that has been missing from Inter for such a long time.
03:40So yeah, I really want to enjoy it. Enjoy the moment, this final, this game. Then, if it comes to fruition, it will be a dream come true.
03:59Paris came closest to winning the trophy in 2020, but Kingsley Coman landed Bayern their sixth title.
04:06Five years on, the French champions finally get their second chance to claim Europe's top prize.
04:16Why not dream? The truth is that this team, this city, this country and everyone deserves it.
04:23So I think we've been working hard for quite a few years to get to this point.
04:28And let's hope that this year will be a historic one.
04:33I think the team is giving it the all. All the people who are working at this club are putting in a huge effort.
04:40All the fans. So let's hope we can also win everything with the club this year.
04:47We've kept improving, we've kept growing, and now there's just one match left.
04:51There are only two teams left in the UEFA Champions League, Inter and us.
04:56And I think we should be proud of what we've achieved.
04:59However, we have to finish the job, because what we're really aiming for is to make history.
05:03The 70th European Cup Final is the first ever meeting of these two teams.
05:13PSG, with one of the competition's youngest squads, bidding to become the 24th different name on a trophy Inter had lifted three times, twice in the mid-60s and most recently in 2010.
05:24But the Italians had lost three of their last four European Cup finals.
05:29Could their experienced side rewrite the ending this time, or would PSG make history?
05:35All set for the season's grand finale in Munich, your commentators Don Goodman and Tony Jones.
05:40Paris had their struggles in the group stage. They were grateful to their Italian international goalkeeper, Gianluigi Donnarumma, for a couple of breathtaking saves in the second leg of their semi-final win over Arsenal.
05:51Skipper Marquinhos is the only survivor from the team who have been by Bayern in the 2020 final.
05:58Coach Luis Enrique has got the best out of Luzvan Dembele, who's had his best-ever scoring season, with eight of his goals coming in the Champions League.
06:08Bradley Bacola misses out, 19-year-old Desiree Due keeping his place.
06:13Luzvan Kovac from Romania completes the full set of UEFA men's finals by taking charge in Munich.
06:23Taking charge of the Europa League final in 2024, and also the Conference League final in 2022.
06:30Roma's win over Feyenoord.
06:33Inter have lost just one of their 14 games, and they won through after extra time, 7-6 in Agrient in their thrilling semi-final against Barcelona.
06:41Jan Sommer's made more saves than anybody at Tibor Courtois of Real Madrid this season.
06:48Benjamin Pavard replaces Jan Bissek alongside 37-year-old Francesco Acerbi.
06:55Lautaro Martinez has got over the thigh injury, which saw him substituted in both legs of the semi-final.
07:03Seven of this team started the 2023 final defeat by Manchester City.
07:11Inter, the oldest team in this season's competition.
07:14Tonight's average age, 30 years and 242 days.
07:21Away we go.
07:23Fantastic anticipation before this Champions League final of 2025.
07:28And we should expect a fast start given what both these teams did in the first leg of their semi-finals.
07:36He or she defeating Arsenal.
07:38Dembele scoring after just four minutes.
07:40And Inter in front after just 30 seconds at the count now.
07:46Should it be necessary, we will have extra time and maybe a penalty shootout at the end of tonight's final.
07:55The mindset of PSG has changed completely now with Luis Enrique in charge.
08:02With Luis Enrique in charge.
08:04Hakimi again driving on.
08:09Vitinha.
08:11Jao Neves.
08:13Yuna Mendez.
08:18Fabian Ruiz.
08:19Hakimi.
08:20Hakimi.
08:21Hakimi.
08:23Hakimi.
08:24Jimenez.
08:25Hakimi.
08:26Hakimi.
08:31Hakimi.
08:32Higo.
08:33Riding the challenge of Varela.
08:34Hakimi.
08:35Hakimi.
08:36Hakimi.
08:37Hakimi.
08:38Hakimi.
08:39Hakimi.
08:40Hakimi.
08:41You just feel a little bit of momentum building, can't you?
08:54Match-up.
08:57Great.
09:02Comfortable for Sommer, but an indication again of how much movement Paris has got up front.
09:11One thing that Inter do have is experience.
09:18Average age of over 30 for this final.
09:21The experience of playing in the final just two years ago, where they were close to snatching a late equaliser in the closing stages against Manchester City in Istanbul.
09:36Dembele, it's been a revelation this season.
09:41Another attempt on target and another comfortable save for Sommer.
09:45I think he's going to be a little bit disappointed. Hits this straight at Jan Sommer.
09:50It's comfortable again to the goalkeeper.
09:53It will be way by Mkhitaryan.
09:58They're just not looking after the ball into when they have it, which hasn't been much in these opening exchanges, it has to be said.
10:05Hibana Shkelia.
10:11Mabin Ruiz.
10:13It's a delightful pass.
10:14Here's Douai.
10:16And it's been bundled in.
10:17Hakimi ensures that PSG have made the early breakthrough.
10:28It's his fourth goal in this season's Champions League.
10:32And the former Inter man has now put PSG in front.
10:36Well, it's okay trying to sit back and soak up the pressure, but PSG look really at it.
10:44They look really sharp.
10:46And this is the third attempt.
10:48But it's that pass there between the lines, which is absolutely split into his back line open.
10:56And it's a simple pass.
10:59Isn't it?
11:00Once Douai gets his head up.
11:03Hakimi free as a bird in the middle.
11:06And it's a familiar sight.
11:08That kind of goal they have been scoring all season long.
11:16As we mentioned, a very different Paris with Luis Enrique in charge.
11:21And Mbappe going to La Liga to join Real Madrid.
11:27Neymar and Lionel Messi leaving before Mbappe.
11:32There's a freshness and energy about the team assembled now by Luis Enrique.
11:41Jean-El is the big summer signing signed from Benfica.
11:51He's going to do their best to exploit their set plays.
11:54He's going to do their best to exploit their set plays.
12:11Launched deep into the PSG penalty area.
12:22Up the way, in a fashion by Pacho.
12:27Kovaric Shalya.
12:28This is where PSG are at their most dangerous when they have the opportunity to break forward quickly.
12:34Fabian Ruiz in the middle.
12:36Joined now by Hakimi.
12:38Here's Dure.
12:41Deflected in.
12:42In after DeMarco.
12:43It's 2-0 now for PSG.
12:46It can't get any better than this.
12:53Well, when you're down on your look, you're down on your look.
12:56Because this is really unfortunate for Federico DeMarco.
13:00But how quickly, again, another example of what they've been doing all season long.
13:06How quickly did PSG turn defense into attack?
13:11Put an opponent on the back foot.
13:13They swarm forward at pace.
13:15And this is...
13:16Mendes.
13:17Mendes.
13:18Keeping the ball in.
13:19At the other end.
13:20And look at the runners.
13:21Look at the pace.
13:22Look at the dynamism.
13:24And Inter.
13:26They just can't cope with it at the moment.
13:28Dembele gets his head up.
13:29Picks out Dure.
13:30And it's a pot shot, isn't it?
13:34And I think the deflection plays an enormous part.
13:37This was probably coming straight for Jan Sommer.
13:41But the deflection takes it past the goalkeeper.
13:46And Inter already have a mountain to climb here.
13:49Dure Dure, who turns 20 next week.
13:55Getting an early birthday present.
13:57Putting PSG two up.
14:06The two goals that we've seen have been right out of the playbook.
14:09Haven't they?
14:10We've seen them all season long.
14:12And Inter would have known the kind of threat.
14:17Paris Saint-Germain pose.
14:20They just haven't been able to deal with it here.
14:30Expectable certainty clear by Donnarumma from there.
14:34Dumfries.
14:38One behind for a corner.
14:41The PSG goalkeeper has had nothing to do so far.
14:43But he hacked the ball away then.
14:45And he's immediately put his team under pressure.
14:47Unnecessary pressure.
14:48Well, it was awkward for him.
14:50I have to say.
14:51A high-dropping ball.
14:55More importantly, they've got a corner to defend.
14:57And this has been a weapon for Inter.
14:59A couple of goals against Bayern Munich.
15:06Donnarumma stuck on his goal line there.
15:08As Acerbi dived in.
15:10Yeah, I was going to say.
15:11A couple of goals against Bayern Munich.
15:13A couple of goals against Barcelona.
15:14And Acerbi...
15:16I'm looking at that and I'm thinking he's going to be disappointed
15:18because he gets way above his marker.
15:22He just can't keep the ball down.
15:23That goes down as a chance for Inter.
15:25I'm looking at it.
15:28This is the big prize that Paris have strived for years to try and win.
15:32I'm looking to double up as a Champions League winning coach.
15:54Having enjoyed success with Barcelona.
15:57Final played against Juventus in Berlin.
16:00Turan.
16:03And Friis in support.
16:06Friis has gone forward and stayed forward.
16:07And Olu.
16:08It's another corner.
16:09Their only attempt has come from a corner, hasn't it?
16:13Acerbi.
16:1436 minutes in.
16:15They need more.
16:16And now is a good time.
16:18Friis looking to make his presence,
16:19And Friis looking to make his presence.
16:20Go D'If.
16:21Acerbi.
16:22It's another corner
16:26What their only attempt has come from a corner, hasn't it?
16:29That's Sherby
16:3136 minutes in
16:35They need more, and now is a good time
16:46Benfries looking to make his presence felt
16:49And header from Turam is thudded wide
16:53It was a chance
16:54Yeah
16:56Two chances from two corners
16:59Two chances that
17:01I've got a begging two chances that both players
17:04The Sherby and now Turam
17:06Probably have expected to do a little bit better with
17:19Go
17:22Go
17:26ving
17:27Wow
17:29Wow
17:31boom
17:33Wow
17:35Wow
17:37Wow
17:38Wow
17:40Wow
17:42Wow
17:43Wow
17:44Wow
17:47given the head injury to nuna mendez it's all about managing the game managing the time
17:54in sections the next part to be reached is half time with a two-goal cushion
18:02i don't think he can have a rethink and regroup very much so
18:08i wonder even if simone inzaghi may contemplate changes at half time in personnel
18:14inter stretched again and what an opportunity that was for dembele he simply wasn't seen by demarco
18:26a huge let off for inter
18:33dembele again behind demarco he got his bearings horribly wrong
18:44two additional minutes at the end of the first half
18:50it was a stretch for summer
19:07left a few of his teammates a little bit disappointed that's why he's holding his
19:09hands up because he had runners either side a little bit selfish see what he's trying to do but
19:15ever really going to trouble jan sommer let's have the ball and they're going to keep the ball
19:24super time for a breather
19:29in munich
19:34under the collar early on inter conceding two early goals
19:38the man of shellia twisting and turning and getting in the shot which has gone behind for a corner
19:45summer again one footed yeah he's been brilliant since he's arrived at the football club this close
19:51control and skill bamboozles defenders
19:55our psg gonna have time to take this corner
19:57the clock is ticking
20:07let's have two extra minutes we're gonna have a few seconds more
20:10come down with the corner kick
20:19flashed over the top of the crossbar by kovárez scalia
20:23he knows that was a chance it is the final action of the first half which
20:29psg have dominated they've scored two goals they could have easily had a third just before the break
20:33it's gone horribly wrong for inter from the moment that lacroft hakemi was able to put psg in front
20:44the former inter player putting paris ahead and the lead which was added to when the attempt by
20:51desiree doué took a big deflection of federico de marco halftime in munich paris saint-germain two
20:59inter Milan nil
21:04so a fluid display from paris saint-germain richly rewarded
21:07leaving inter with it all to do to save the day the second half is next
21:13welcome back to munich with psg seemingly sitting pretty in the uefa champions league final
21:18thanks to a fast start as ashtrap hakemi and desiree doué left into reeling in the first 20 minutes
21:24the italians needed to rise to the challenge to keep their trophy dream alive let's rejoin don
21:30goodman and tony jones for the second half welcome back to the munich arena the uefa champions league
21:40final of 2025 panis saint-germain leading into milan by two goals to nil two goals scored in the first 20 minutes
21:48the first and his fourth in the champions league this season for akraf hakemi
21:53is there a do a the 19 year old adding the second after just 20 minutes
22:10in to get the second half underway
22:20and inter with it all to do having conceded two goals inside
22:24the first 20 minutes two goals in an eight minute spell only three teams in european cup
22:30history of led a final by two goals and not gone on to win once in 1956 real madrid in 1962 and milan in
22:402005 that sensational fixture against liverpool which they lost on penalties
22:47tabaracelli still he goes on
22:57it was too easy for him the georgian international breaking forward quickly
23:02and yet again don goodman into slow off the mark yeah or the other way around really psg quick off the
23:09mark started the first half on the front foot very well very quickly
23:14and already some into faces showing disappointment and the second european cup final between teams
23:23from france and italy the first remains the only time a team from league has lifted the trophy
23:28marseille beating inter's neighbors ac milan at the olympia stadion
23:38has been put behind carelessly for a corner
23:40the one thing psg have got to guard against this complacency here
23:48that was very casual by hakimi
23:55and freeze having a word with toram acerbi also in that big shout for a handball from simone anzage
24:03on the near side touch line and will be checked by var of course
24:15certainly no handball from a defensive point of view there
24:19the psg support making the noise making a lot of noise
24:32the team about to get their hands on the trophy for the first time ever
24:36pacho down here the game continues
24:44pacho down here the game continues
24:46kovárez galia
24:49he's got a second chance
24:52deflected over the top of the crossbar was it
24:54he's given a goal kick no deflection
25:07dumfries
25:11he's just caught by a flailing arm then
25:13luna bend is doing his best to hold off the rewarding denzel dumfries the dutch international
25:22yeah they need to see more of that don't they
25:25into wingback involvement in an attacking sense
25:30very very little of it in the first half
25:41they need to find far more creativity from midfield
25:57someone again put under pressure and cool under pressure
26:03luna mendes
26:06fabian ruiz
26:07it's languid swipe at the ball by denbele
26:15well into they've done a little bit better at the start of the second half but
26:20having said all of that most of the danger is happening at their
26:24defensive end denbele trying to bend that get the whip on the ball
26:37the first takes the tumble anticipating the challenge from kovárez galia
26:49the change is going to be made
26:50so pavard is being replaced by jan bisek
26:56so anticipated that had he not got a knee issue that bisek would have been in the starting 11 ahead of
27:03benjamin pava
27:04and federico de marco gives way
27:12zalevsky the more forward thinking zalevsky is on in his place
27:17donnarumma is left in the heap
27:28cherby muscling in it's gone behind for a corner kick
27:34it's a good delivery
27:36that's what caused that collision between donnarumma and marquinhos
27:48and then to look into apply pressure with this corner kick
27:51danfries is in there donnarumma has flapped it there he's managed to get it away
27:55deflected away by marquinhos drive from barrell is repelled
28:06it's left he just on made his champions league debut as a late substitute in the
28:172-1 quarterfinal first leg win at bayern at the start of april
28:31given away by barela
28:32and
28:34notara martinez
28:40balayla again
28:42zalevsky
28:45that's gonna be a free kick
28:50he's hardly been on the pitch for more than two minutes
28:56that is a yellow card
28:58yeah it's overly aggressive brilliant blocking by joe neves and
29:03and ruiz just gets there first and he gets caught
29:11still demanding still making those demands of his players
29:15who's they've got to keep going can't afford to switch off
29:19allow winter back in
29:21they have total control here at the moment
29:24markinos
29:33due
29:33away
29:33Somert showing that he's just as comfortable with his left foot as his right
29:42giving away a lot of free kicks
29:48and the card is he going to be produced
29:52yeah I think the fourth one of
29:54Simone Anzaga's assistance
29:57yeah they're getting animated down on the bench
30:00that's the problem but here's the yellow card look
30:03it's Inzaga himself
30:06well he tried to leave the scene of the crime then
30:09he wanted a yellow card that's the reaction look
30:15he should know what he will get from Isvan Kovac the Romanian in charge of this
30:25got the record for the European Championship for most cautions in the game
30:30when Czechia faced the Kia
30:34first red coming after 20 minutes 16 yellows two reds in the end
30:44it was an evening when it was necessary to have more than one pen
30:49Bastoni with a long throw
30:58wasteful by Barella close down quickly
31:05that's exactly what the problem was for him
31:09it was Germany debut at the start of this year against Italy
31:27debut at the start of this year against Italy
31:34easy for Donnarumma
31:41there's a couple of players down Visek is one of them
31:43ESG
31:45Douay down at the other end just got back up actually
31:48all going on out there
31:51as he pulled his hamstring
31:56stumble wasn't it which has done the damage
32:03it's just brilliant brilliant football isn't it it's the energy the dynamism of these players there's a skill
32:07from Douay
32:09it's just brilliant brilliant football isn't it it's the energy the dynamism of these players there's a skill from Douay
32:29it's it's Kimi on his way it's a strike that needs blocking by Acherbi
32:36it's a strike that needs blocking by Acherbi
32:41it's a strike that needs to be a strike that needs to be a strike that needs to be a strike that needs to be a strike that needs to be a strike that needs to be a strike that needs to be a strike that needs to be a strike that needs to be a strike that needs to be a strike that needs to be a strike that needs to be a strike that needs to be a strike that needs to be a strike that needs to be a strike that needs to be a strike that needs to be a strike that needs to be a strike that needs to be a strike that needs to be a strike that needs to be a strike that needs to be a strike that needs to be a strike that needs to be a strike that needs to be a strike that needs to be a strike that needs to be a strike that needs to be a strike that needs to be a strike that needs to be a strike that needs to be a strike that needs to be a strike that needs to be a strike that needs to be a strike that needs to be a strike that needs to be a strike that
33:12it's been a dream night for the 19 year old
33:17a dream night a sensational year
33:22pulled up by France for the first time in March and now lighting up Munich
33:30it's been a dream night for everybody connected with Paris Saint-Germain because they're gonna
33:35for the first time in their history win the UEFA Champions League and it's ruthless
33:42absolutely ruthless from PSG
33:48I think me and several other people were a tiny bit surprised that
33:53Due got the nod over Marcola but how good a break is this instigated by Vitinho finished by Due
34:04very calm and composed passes the ball no chance for Sommer and what a night
34:12for Paris Saint-Germain
34:19hadn't started a Champions League game before the start of October
34:24this season a team of goals and looking for more
34:41Barcola just on as a substitute
34:48Fabian Ruiz
34:52helped away but not too far
34:54and that was a thumping hit from Barcola who's keen to get in on the act
35:00he is and I think the biggest mistake is he tries to hit this as hard as he possibly can
35:06that's why it rises
35:14this is demolarizing for Inter they simply can't get anywhere near the ball it's going to be a long 20 minutes
35:34Dembele
35:40Kovarac
35:41Kovarac
35:43Kovarac
35:43a clean throw on goal and scoring beautifully
35:47magnificent
35:57Inter again have no answer
35:59Kovarac
36:00Kovarac
36:01Kovarac
36:02pulled apart
36:04opened up
36:05Luis Enrique celebrates
36:07what a night it has been for PSG
36:11well you have to feel for Inter everybody connected with them because they're on the wrong end of a beating here
36:18by an incredible team that are delivering an almost perfect game of football in every conceivable way
36:28and again
36:29it's that dynamism it's the pace in behind and he delays that run to make sure
36:35that he stays on side and can he stay calm at the moment you bet your life he can
36:40again
36:42a little bit like Douai passes the ball
36:44into the corner
36:48Jan Sommer no chance
36:51what a night
36:53what a night and what a way to win the UEFA Champions League final
37:02I think he's enjoyed it
37:04why wouldn't he
37:07there's been a transformation in the way PSG play with Luis Enrique in charge
37:15and PSG are beyond the 150 mark for goals this season
37:23two emotions isn't it that one it's the pain
37:29painful painful way to lose the biggest final
37:34it's only a few weeks ago isn't it maybe three weeks ago they were possibly on for a treble
37:42into Milan
37:44they're going to go home with the season nothing
37:46but Ayla
37:49get away from the first challenge he can't create the opening it's a magnificent save by Donnarumma
37:56Donnarumma's had nothing to do all evening but he sprung low to his left then
38:02to keep out the shot and to frustrate Marcus Duran
38:06nothing is going their way no and it has been a night where PSG haven't really needed the big goalkeeper
38:12he's done that beautifully
38:23he's done that beautifully
38:25and he's driven that into the side
38:40and those on the far side of the stadium thought he was in it should have been in
38:43he could have stole his teammate's thunder here because this probably would have been the best goal of the night
39:00the prize of all eight
39:08only at the stage where we start to count up the passes
39:12i can tell you i haven't been on the receiving end of similar it's painful
39:22back all up
39:24it says to go for goal himself and perhaps Stambele was in the better position but as a striker
39:29he would only have the goal in his sights
39:54the age of this PSG team dropping even further with the introduction of Zaire Emery
39:59back in me
40:04back all up
40:08up done again by back all up
40:12that's five and it's been a five-star show
40:17may all have just off the bench

40:44Munich with his contribution
40:48he's on the side there isn't he
40:50caller and he finds Mayulu he's carried on his run
40:55he smashes the ball
40:56the young they're helpless
41:00the ensemble i mean what a performance what a team and you spoke about the rest of Europe
41:07being fearful
41:09they should be because this is a young team that has got quite a few years left in the
41:15and all PSG have to do is keep them together and there's no reason why they can't
41:22the pain
41:23and the ecstasy
41:27and the roar will tell you that Paris Saint-Germain
41:30a UEFA

43:06an expanded champions league this season 36 teams many have their doubts about it
43:12but it has been an absorbing season of top class action
43:16that Neuendorff the president of the German federation is also out there
43:23along with Giuseppe Marotta the Inter CEO
43:29they're itching to get their hands on the trophy

45:36and nobody wants to let it go
45:40new territory for PSG familiar for Luis Enrique
45:44a decade on from winning a treble with Barcelona
45:46he's repeated the feat in France
45:48leading Paris to the domestic cup the league our title and now the pinnacle of European football
45:54few would have thought that possible when the French almost faltered in the league phase
46:00but they were unstoppable by the time they demolished Inter
46:02in particular 19-year-old Desiree Douai who added two goals to his early assist
46:08and paved the way for the biggest victory ever seen in a European Cup final
