00:00More than 150 people have been killed and thousands displaced after floods devastated
00:05parts of central Nigeria, as rescue teams continued to recover bodies and searched for
00:10the missing.
00:11The floods hit the rural town of Mokwa in Niger state after torrential rains that began late
00:17Wednesday and continued through Thursday.
00:19The death toll rose to 151 after more bodies were recovered, nearly 10 kilom lose from
00:24Mokwa according to the Niger State Emergency Management Agency.
00:28At least 3,018 people were displaced while 265 homes were completely destroyed by the
00:35floods.
00:36Authorities warned that the death toll could continue to rise.
