00:00It's an honor to be with Elon, who's my friend,
00:04and he's done a fantastic job.
00:06He didn't need this.
00:07He didn't need it.
00:09And we find that government is a little nasty on occasion.
00:12Hello, Peter.
00:13The President Trump.
00:14The President's a little bit nasty.
00:16Peter, you haven't noticed that yet.
00:18You've had a charmed life, right?
00:20The President Trump's very charmed.
00:21I think you've had a charmed life.
00:22I think what I'll do, if you don't mind,
00:25numbers have just come out, which are rather extraordinary,
00:28and I thought I'd play a tape of one of the people
00:31who I've respected over the years,
00:33from, you know, Joe Kiernan and Rick Santelli.
00:37This just came out, and we'll just play that for a second.
00:40Personal income is up eight-tenths, up eight-tenths of a percent.
00:45That is almost triple the expectations.
00:48Yeah, I'll tell you, the income, the income numbers,
00:51really, for the first four months of the year,
00:53they're stellar.
00:54They're really stellar.
00:55I mean, I could go back and look at the first four months
00:57many different years.
00:59They're really very strong numbers, and you're right.
01:01This administration is criticized for just about everything
01:04under the sun.
01:05I've never ever in my lifetime had glimpses into the politics
01:10of an administration in the form of transparency like this one.
01:15Why don't we be, you know, give credit where credit is due,
01:18income really shooting up.
01:20Rick, I also thought everybody was going to get one last order
01:26of imports that were going to be tariffed, and they were loading up on things.
01:30How the hell did they already fix the trade?
01:32Or not fix it, but to cut it in half, that's crazy.
01:37So there wasn't a lot of front-loading of things that they needed before the tariffs hit?
01:41Yeah, I'll tell you what.
01:44Everybody does call into question some of the conventional wisdoms, and, you know,
01:49it's going to be interesting to see what happens next month when we get this number,
01:53or we see some of the other numbers, like current accounts, see how they fared.
01:58Because, I don't know, I've been watching these numbers a long time.
02:01I don't think I've ever seen the trade deficit cut in half in one month.
02:05Not bad.
02:06All right?
02:07Not bad.
02:08Come on, guys.
02:13I see Howard and Scott are here, so it's great.
02:17If you guys want to stand over here, you might as well.
02:19You're the ones that help reduce those numbers, and it'll only get better.
02:23The tariffs are so important, and that's why we were so happy with the decision yesterday
02:29where the tariffs continue, because without the tariffs, our nation would be imperiled.
02:35We would really be imperiled.
02:36I think I can say that with great charity, Scott and Howard.
02:40And so we were very happy to get that decision, that big decision, yesterday.
02:44And today, it's about a man named Elon, and he's one of the greatest business leaders
02:52and innovators.
02:53He's one of the greatest things that the world has ever produced.
02:54He's stepped forward to put his very great talents into the service of our nation, and
03:00we appreciate it.
03:02And I just want to say that Elon has worked tirelessly helping lead the most sweeping
03:06and consequential government reform program in generations.
03:11And you know the kinds of things that he's found and his people have found.
03:15He's brought a group of very smart people in, and they found things that are pretty unbelievable.
03:21I have to say that the numbers that we're talking about are substantial, but they're going
03:27to be very much more substantial with time, because many of the things that we're working
03:31on right now, we're going to have to remember Elon as we find them.
03:35But the numbers could double and triple, because many, many things — we don't want to go out
03:40with them until we're sure, but we've found things that are unbelievably stupid and unbelievably
03:47bad.
03:48With the Department of Government efficiency, Elon has delivered a colossal change in
03:52the old ways of doing business in Washington.
03:55Doge has installed geniuses with an engineering mindset and unbelievably talented people in
04:01computers.
04:02I actually asked Elon one time, what's — what's their primary thing?
04:05And they have a lot of primary things, all having to do with being smart.
04:09But he said the thing that they're really the best at is working with computers, so that
04:13they can't be outsmarted by somebody that's not so honest, that happens to also be good
04:19with computers, but not as good as these people.
04:22The mindset and the senior ranks of every federal department, and it's really changed.
04:28And with Elon's guidance, they're helping to detect fraud-slash-waste and modernize broken
04:33and outdated systems.
04:35So as you know, we're talking about various systems and changing systems.
04:38And you know, sadly, it takes a long time to do that.
04:42You'll change, let's say, a system at IRS and computerize it properly, where the job can
04:48be done in one-tenth of time, but it takes — it takes sometimes years to rebuild those systems.
04:54But we've started — in many cases, we've started — I will say that this has less
04:59to do with Elon, but the air traffic control systems were bidding out to the best companies
05:04in the world those systems right now.
05:06They were — what the previous administration was horrible, what they did.
05:12They spent billions and billions of dollars.
05:15And in the end, it didn't even come close to working.
05:18They — they tried to hook up wire to copper, and it can't be done.
05:22And they just spent billions of dollars and just wasted money — actually made the system
05:27much worse.
05:28So we're going to get a brand-new, modern system.
05:30Congress is working with us on that.
05:32And we're going to get it done as quickly as we can.
05:34But it's — it's in the works.
05:35And once it's done, it'll be good for 30 years.
05:39But we have a system that's 48 years old and would have a modern computer hooked into
05:43a very outdated computer.
05:46And you — they don't hook up — I mean, they didn't hook up.
05:49So after spending billions of dollars, they turned on the system.
05:53And it — in never any cases, from local to countrywide, they never worked.
05:59More than 75,000 bureaucrats have voluntarily left their taxpayer-funded jobs to come out
06:06and really do the — do the job.
06:09Countless wasteful and unnecessary contracts have been terminated.
06:13And you know that we have terminated many, many contracts.
06:16And many contracts, Elon, are right now being looked at.
06:20And it may be six months.
06:23It may be almost a year, in some cases.
06:25We're going through procedures.
06:26We're going through courts, and we'll remember you as we announce billions of dollars of
06:32extra waste, fraud, and abuse.
06:35Just as an example, Doge canceled $101 million for DEI contracts at the Department of Education.
06:43$101 million — and that was just a small section of the Department of Education.
06:48$59 million for illegal alien hotel rooms in New York City.
06:53And the landlord never made the kind of money that he made in the last short period of time.
06:59$59 million to a hotel in New York City.
07:02$45 million for diversity, equity, and inclusion scholarships in Burma.
07:07In Burma.
07:08Does anyone know about Burma?
07:10$42 million for social and behavioral change in Uganda.
07:16$40 million to improve the social and economic inclusion of sedentary migrants.
07:22I can say it's $2 billion to Stacey Abrams and her environmental movement.
07:29There was $100 in the account, and all of a sudden they found $2 billion in the account.
07:35And I assume that's being looked at.
07:36I don't know.
07:37I'm not sure.
07:38But I assume that's being looked at.
07:40Think of that.
07:41$2 billion.
07:42And then Lee will tell you there's another one over there for $20 billion being spent
07:49on another environmental question.
07:51$20 billion.
07:52Not $20 million a lot.
07:53Not $200,000, which is a lot.
07:56So think of it.
07:57In her case, you have $100, and now all of a sudden she gets hit with an infusion of
08:03$2 billion just before I take office.
08:06$20 million for Arab Sesame Street in the Middle East.
08:12Nobody knows what that's all about.
08:14Nobody's been able to find it.
08:15$8 million for making mice transgender.
08:18So they spent $8 million on making mice transgender.
08:23And those are better than many of the others.
08:26I could sit here all day and read things just like that, but we have other things to do.
08:31So it's much, much more than just that.
08:33We're totally committed to making the doge cuts permanent and stopping much more of the
08:38waste in the months that come.
08:39We want to get our great, big, beautiful bill finished and done.
08:43After that, we're going to be — we put some of this into the bill, but most of it's going
08:48to come later.
08:49We're going to have it categorized by Congress, affirmed by Congress.
08:56In some cases, we'll make cuts.
08:57In some cases, we'll just use it in a different layer to save the money.
09:01But it's hundreds of billions of dollars.
09:04Doge has also fully modernized the federal retirement process and continues to work very
09:09hard on the IRS modernization.
09:12But we're taking that over with Doge.
09:14Many of the Doge people, Elon, are staying behind, too.
09:17So they're not leaving.
09:19And Elon's really not leaving.
09:21He's going to be back and forth, I think.
09:23I have a feeling.
09:24It's his baby, and I think he's going to be doing a lot of things.
09:27But Elon's service to America has been, without comparison in modern history, is already running
09:33one of the most innovative car companies in the world.
09:36You look at his factories and compare them with some of the old factories we have, and
09:40it's a big difference.
09:41And the most successful space company in, I guess, in history, you would have to say,
09:46the largest free speech platform on the Internet, et cetera.
09:50Yet, Elon willingly, with all of the success, he willingly accepted the outrageous abuse and
09:57slander and lies and attacks because he does love our country.
10:01I know that very much.
10:02He loves our country.
10:04He comes from another country, a country that's going through trials and tribulations,
10:09I would say.
10:10But he's all about the USA, and Americans owe him a great debt of gratitude.
10:17So I just want to thank Elon for his time as a special government employee.
10:22Can you imagine?
10:23They call him an employee.
10:25But it's a special government employee for coming and helping us.
10:30And he really has changed the mindset of a lot of people.
10:32A lot of people thought, you know, maybe we'll cut 1 percent or 2 percent or 3 percent.
10:37Then they said, wow, we can cut a lot more than that.
10:40And we're going to do it very surgically.
10:42We're going to continue on the march.
10:45We're making America great again.
10:47When I was in Saudi Arabia, we were in, as you know, three really great countries predominantly
10:55the three.
10:57Qatar was great.
10:58UAE was great.
11:00Saudi Arabia, incredible.
11:01What, like, such an incredible experience to be in those three countries.
11:06But the crown prince of Saudi Arabia, and I must tell you, the leaders, the great leaders
11:12of the other two that we just mentioned, they all said the same thing, that the United States
11:17is the hottest country right now anywhere in the world.
11:20And six months ago, we thought it was dead.
11:22It was like a dead country.
11:24It would have been a dead country if we didn't have the right result on November 5th.
11:27It would have been a horrible, horrible situation was going on with the borders, with transgender
11:35everyone, men playing in women's sports and so much more.
11:39But they were saying the hottest country anywhere in the world.
11:43And then I played that little clip because that was one person who's respected.
11:46But there were two people because Joe was in that one, too.
11:49Joe's a good man.
11:50But that was one group of people saying something about the success of what we've done over the
11:58last four months.
11:58They cannot believe it.
11:59In the one case, they said they've never seen anything like it as long as they've been
12:03doing what they've been doing.
12:04They've been doing it for a long time.
12:06So I just I want to thank Elon for helping.
12:11And again, you know, the United States right now is the hottest country anywhere in the world.
12:15There's no country as hot.
12:17And we're doing really well where we came.
12:20When I left, we had no wars.
12:22We had no problems.
12:23We defeated ISIS.
12:24We rebuilt our military and we had no inflation.
12:29And when I came back, we had a lot of inflation.
12:32We had wars all over the place.
12:34We had the embarrassment in Afghanistan where we gave up billions and billions of dollars
12:40of military equipment.
12:41The most embarrassing moment in the history of our country, I believe.
12:44I believe that strongly.
12:46We have Russia with Ukraine.
12:48We had the attack on Israel in October, the horrible attack, October 7th, horrible, horrible
12:56attack.
12:57Nobody's ever seen anything like it.
12:59And now we have something where we're really healing a lot of that.
13:04We stopped India and Pakistan from fighting.
13:09I believe that could have turned out into a nuclear disaster.
13:13And I want to thank the leaders of India, the leaders of Pakistan.
13:17And I want to thank my people also.
13:19We talk trade.
13:20And we said we can't trade with people that are shooting at each other and potentially
13:26using nuclear weapons.
13:28And they were great leaders in those countries.
13:31And they understood and they agreed.
13:35And that all stopped.
13:37And we're stopping others from fighting also.
13:39Because ultimately, we can fight better than anybody.
13:41We have the greatest military in the world.
13:43We have the greatest leaders in the world.
13:46We put one of them in charge of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, as you know, General Raisin Kane.
13:51And we wiped out ISIS, completely wiped out ISIS in three weeks.
13:56They said it would take five years.
13:57And we did it in three weeks.
13:59And that's the way it is.
14:00But we don't want to have to use our military.
14:02We want to be peace through strength when we can.
14:06And that's the way we're going to have it.
14:08So I just want to thank Elon and all of his people.
14:11Most of those people are staying.
14:12Almost all of them are staying.
14:13And they're going to be with us.
14:15And you're going to see the results coming long into the future.
14:18Even a year and two years later, you're going to see a lot of the results.
14:21And those hundreds of billions of dollars are going to be adding up.
14:24And they're going to continue to add.
14:26It'll be interesting.
14:27It's really interesting to see what the final number is going to be.
14:31But again, Elon gave an incredible service.
14:34Nobody liked him.
14:35And he had to go through the slings and the arrows,
14:40which is a shame because he's an incredible patriot.
14:44The good news is that 90 percent of the country knows that.
14:47And they appreciate it.
14:48And they really appreciate what he did.
14:50And I gave him a little special something we have here.
14:54A very special that I give to very special people.
14:58I have given it to some, but it goes to very special people.
15:02And I thought I'd give it to Elon as a presentation from our country.
15:08Thank you, Elon.
15:09Take care of yourself.
