Eiza González, star of ‘Fountain of Youth,’ is prepared to risk a hangover—and her reputation—in this episode of “Cheap Shots.” The actress and singer spills on why she’s no longer a pop star, the billion-view music video she almost turned down, and her thoughts on Timothée Chalamet and Kylie Jenner's relationship. Plus, we learn about how her boyfriend finally got through to her on Insta DM, her love for Natalie Portman, and the on-set accident that changed the course of her career. The jury's still out on if she knows the difference between good and bad liquor, but at least when it comes to Monsterverse movies she’s a little less lost—unless ‘Godzilla vs. King Kong and Your Mom’ comes up.

00:00You've been acting since you were 16.
00:02What's one role you wish you didn't take?
00:05There's so many.
00:09Hi, I'm Eiza Gonzalez, and I'm taking cheap shots with Cosmo.
00:13Oh, no.
00:15Someone's going to have to carry me home tonight.
00:19How do I think I'm going to do?
00:21If I have to drink, I think I'll be fine.
00:24And if I don't, I might lose friends and my reputation.
00:29So really, we don't know how it's going to go.
00:32Okay, round one, I will be taking shots at myself.
00:35These drinks are Dirty Shirley's.
00:38So four are normal, and one is spiked with vodka.
00:45Okay, question one.
00:47Out of all the red carpet looks you've worn, which do you regret?
00:59I don't know.
01:03I can't say any of them, so I might have to drink.
01:06Like, I have no bad looks, then I have to drink.
01:10I do have bad looks.
01:12We don't need to talk about it.
01:14Okay.
01:19Oh, that's sweet.
01:21Okay.
01:22Okay.
01:23That was the cheap shot.
01:24Really?
01:25Well, I guess I'm cheap.
01:26Can't tell the difference.
01:30Okay.
01:31Question two.
01:32You've been acting since you were 16.
01:34What's one role you wish you didn't take?
01:39Oh, Lord.
01:41Um, so many.
01:48I guess I could say this truthfully.
01:50I wish I would have not done Bloodshot.
01:54This movie I did years ago.
01:56I fell and had an accident on that set and broke my collarbones and my ribs.
02:01And it really changed the route of my career.
02:04And that was traumatizing.
02:05And so if I wouldn't have taken that role, I wouldn't have fallen.
02:08And maybe I've been complete different films that I didn't end up doing.
02:12What have you realized is your biggest red flag in a relationship?
02:15I would say love bombing.
02:20I've encountered some love bombers throughout my life.
02:23This is your biggest red flag.
02:25Oh, I have no red flags.
02:28No red flags.
02:29I think my only red flag is that I have no red flags.
02:34Question number four.
02:35What's the most ridiculous thing on your writer?
02:38I don't have a writer.
02:39I don't know.
02:40Is this a thing?
02:41I grew up in Mexico.
02:42We had in Mexico, this little lady that come to set and she would have like,
02:44a, like a plastic table that she would open and she had like a pack of cigarettes
02:48and like some runners and some, uh, tab keys and more cigarettes.
02:52And then she had a tab and she had people's names on it and like how much you owe her.
02:56And so at the end of the week, you had to pay her.
02:58So the writer thing does not exist for me.
03:02I'm like water.
03:03That's enough.
03:04Question number five.
03:06Name one thing you've lied about to land a role.
03:09My age, my height, languages I can speak, accents I can do, bareback horseback riding.
03:18Scuba diving.
03:19Never had done scuba diving.
03:21My acting.
03:24So I've lied a lot, but whatever.
03:25Whatever it takes to get the job.
03:27Round one complete.
03:29Okay.
03:30Round two is time shots.
03:32I'll have 30 seconds to get these questions right.
03:35Or I have to take a shot.
03:36These drinks are tequila sunrises.
03:38Four are made with expensive tequila.
03:40While the cheap one is mixed with a $10 bottle.
03:44Okay.
03:45Question number one.
03:46You starred in the Mexican telenovela, Lola Erase Una Vez.
03:48How many episodes of that series were there?
03:51Are you?
03:52This is, this is cruel.
03:54Cause it's a Mexican soap opera.
03:55It's like a hundred episodes.
03:56It's like a hundred and a hundred and a hundred and twenty five.
04:04No, a hundred and a hundred and forty five.
04:08It's it's three digit numbers higher.
04:10Two hundred.
04:11Two hundred.
04:12A hundred.
04:13It's in the hundreds.
04:14It's it's higher.
04:15Three hundred.
04:16Two hundred.
04:17Two hundred.
04:18Two hundred and twenty four episodes.
04:23I did two hundred and twenty four episodes of that show.
04:26Isn't that crazy?
04:27We did two hundred and twenty four episodes in one year.
04:30So when I moved to America and they would give me one scene a day,
04:33I didn't understand what was going on.
04:35I was so confused.
04:36I was like, one page?
04:38They're like, yeah, that's the scene of the day.
04:39I was like, what?
04:42Oh, I have to throw it that side.
04:44Salud.
04:45Oh, that's not the cheap shot.
04:55Wow.
04:56Question number two.
04:57How many times do you say Te acordarás de mí in your song Te acordarás de mí?
05:06Oh, no.
05:08Te acordarás de mí?
05:18Like five, six?
05:19No.
05:20More.
05:21Ten.
05:22Eleven.
05:23Thirteen.
05:24Fourteen.
05:25Nine.
05:26Eight.
05:27Seven.
05:28Six.
05:29Five.
05:30Four.
05:31Eleven.
05:32Seventeen.
05:33Three.
05:34Three?
05:35I only say three.
05:37Guys, I always forgot the lyrics of my songs on stage, too.
05:41That's why I'm...
05:42There's a reason why I'm not a pop star anymore.
05:45Do you ever see yourself returning to music?
05:48Honestly, yes.
05:49Cheers to that.
05:50Mm-hmm.
05:51Mm-hmm.
05:52Mm-hmm.
05:53Mm-hmm!
05:54Mm-hmm!
05:57Oh, oh, no.
05:59Oh, no.
06:00That is gross.
06:01That's the cheap shot.
06:02Oh!
06:03I, I really...
06:05I think I've just gone blind.
06:08That was pretty intense.
06:10Whew!
06:11Question number three.
06:13You starred in the 2021 film, Godzilla vs. King Kong.
06:17Oh, no.
06:18Name three other Godzilla movies in the MonsterVerse franchise.
06:23Okay, so Godzilla.
06:26King Kong.
06:27No?

06:38Godzilla vs. King Kong and...
06:40Your mom?
06:41I don't...

06:43I don't...
06:44God.
06:45What is another one?
06:46Godzilla vs. King Kong and...
06:48Your mom?
06:49I don't...
06:50I don't...
06:51I don't...
06:52God.
06:53What is another one?
06:54Godzilla vs. King of the Monsters.
06:56God.
06:57Guys.
06:58Not the tequila shots.
06:59Someone's gonna have to carry me home tonight.
07:03See, once it's not a cheap shot, it ain't that bad.
07:09Yeah.
07:10Love me some tequila.
07:11Okay.
07:12Question number four.
07:13Which two awards did you win in the 2013 Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Award in Mexico?
07:19God.
07:20I am the worst.
07:22Best actress?
07:24No.
07:25No.
07:26Not that one, Issa.
07:27You definitely didn't win that one.
07:29Best ensemble?
07:33Best new artist?
07:36I was not new.
07:37Close.
07:38Oh.
07:39Two.
07:40Okay, sorry.
07:41Best TV show?
07:43No.
07:44Best musical performance?
07:47What the hell did I win?
07:49You won.
07:50Favorite artist and favorite voice from an animated movie for The Cruise.
07:55That is...
07:57Wow.
07:58I guess I really wanted...
08:00I really wanted to win Best Actress.
08:02Cheers to that.
08:04Woo!
08:05It's going great, Issa.
08:12Wow.
08:13Okay.
08:14Woo!
08:15You said your Fountain of Youth co-star Natalie Portman is a huge inspiration for you.
08:20Name five films of her.
08:21Okay.
08:22Black Swan.
08:23Leon.
08:24V from Vendetta.
08:25She's in Thor.
08:28She is also in May, December.
08:32I'm a big fan.
08:34President of Natalie Portman's fan club.
08:37Well, that was round two complete.
08:39Okay, round three, the category is cheap shots.
08:42I'll be taking literal cheap shots at everyone.
08:46Oh no!
08:47These drinks are gin and tonics.
08:49Four are made with food quality gin, while one of them is a cheap shot of gin.
08:55You starred in the 2017 film Baby Driver.
09:01Which of your cast mates was the worst driver in real life?
09:06Um...
09:08Because I didn't see anyone drive, but if I had to guess, I'd say probably Lily James.
09:13But not because I know this, or I've ever seen it.
09:16But because she's English, and so she drives on the other side of the car, right?
09:22So then we were shooting in Atlanta, so she would have to switch sides.
09:26So I'm just saying that she probably wouldn't be as good, just because of the car situation.
09:31But you're great.
09:32I trust you.
09:33I'd get on a car with you anytime Lily.
09:35Okay, question number two.
09:37You appeared in music videos for artists like Justin Timberlake and Romeo Santos.
09:42Name a music video you turned down and tell us why.
09:44Funny story, I turned down Romeo Santos' video once.
09:49And I said I really didn't want to do it.
09:51I love him, and I love Bachata, and I love Aventura.
09:54But I was just like, you know, I don't know, I'm an actress.
09:57I don't know if I should be doing a music video.
09:59This is like back in the day.
10:00He came back, and he was like, you really have to do it.
10:03And I was like, fine, I'll do it.
10:04I ended up doing it.
10:05It was fun.
10:06I went to Argentina.
10:07I said, no one's going to ever watch it.
10:10It has more than a billion views on YouTube.
10:15When I tell you people would stop me on the street and be like, wait, you are the girl
10:20for Romeo Santos' video.
10:22And I was like, wow.
10:24Honestly, thank you, Romeo.
10:25It really, I think it really, you know, catapulted my career.
10:29So thank you for that.
10:30I'm sorry I said no.
10:32Rank your following co-stars from who would you most to least want to work with again.
10:41Oh, no.
10:42Vin Diesel, Jake Gyllenhaal, John Krasinski, or Aaron Paul.
10:49Cheers.
10:50Woo.
10:51Oh, Lord.
10:52Okay.
10:53Now, question number four.
10:54Name one celebrity who has slid into your DMs to shoot their shot and tell us what they
11:11said.
11:12Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
11:16My boyfriend.
11:17I can say that.
11:18At least I'm not going to get drunk.
11:21I'm so sorry that I'm sharing this.
11:23He did DM me a couple years ago and I respectfully didn't respond for many times.
11:32It was like such a gentleman message.
11:34It wasn't like, yo, or like a fire emoji or like the things these kids do nowadays.
11:40It was like a really thought through, deep message that I was really impressed by him
11:46and just such a gentleman.
11:47And then I gave him a shot and here we are.
11:51Question number five.
11:53You made headlines for liking a photo of Timothee Chalamet and Kylie Jenner.
11:59What really went on between them?
12:03I did like it.
12:04They look so cute together.
12:06They look so in love and so cute and I'm obsessed with them and I love Timmy.
12:11I think he's the most talented, sweetest, honestly, like sweetest boy and I'm just so proud
12:17to see him thriving and doing great in his career and we're just good friends.
12:22I have nothing but amazing things to say about him.
12:25Thank you so much for sticking through this with me.
12:28Don't forget to watch Fountain of Youth on Apple TV Plus now and goodbye.
12:47Thank you so much for watching.
