00:00Members of the Class of 2025, from down the street, across the country, and around the world.

00:14Around the world, just as it should be.

00:22The purpose of our time here really starts today, as we leave campus,

00:27and especially as we leave a much different campus than the one we entered,

00:33with Harvard at the center of a national battle over higher education in America.

00:39When I met my 77 classmates from 32 different countries,

00:44the countries I knew only as colorful shapes on a map turned into real people with laughter, dreams,

01:02and the perseverance to survive the long winter in Cambridge.

01:07But I am proud to stand today alongside our graduating class, our faculty, and our president,

01:17with the shared conviction that this ongoing project of Veritas is one worth defending.

01:24But today, that promise of a connected world is giving way to division, fear, and conflict.

01:37We are starting to believe those who think differently, vote differently, or pray differently,

01:46whether they are across the ocean, or sitting right next to us, are not just wrong.

01:56We mistakenly see them as evil.
