Trent Alexander-Arnold: from Merseyside to Madrid

Real Madrid have agreed a deal with Liverpool to sign Trent Alexander-Arnold before the FIFA Club World Cup

00:02Fantastic player from the first day, outstanding talent,

00:07turned into an outstanding world-class football player.

00:19He is one of these stories which not a lot of clubs can really write,

00:23but he is one of the people people talk about in 20, 30, 40 years, 100%.

00:29And that's really nice for a boy from West Derby,

00:33it's probably the best you can achieve in life.

00:35Trent can still improve, I think I saw a bit of improvement already this season,

00:39so these players are top of the world,

00:41so there's not a lot of room for improvement anymore,

00:43but there's always a bit of improvement and especially defensively,

00:48Trent, in my opinion, has made the step up this season.

00:52He's a Liverpool player, he born in Liverpool, is what Liverpool means.

00:58I'm a massive fan of Trent, he's a fantastic footballer,

01:02you know, his ability to hit a pass, his range of passing,

01:06you know, his assists, you know, his crossing ability to make goals,

01:10and he's a player who's wonderful at taking three kicks,

01:13so he's a goal threat as well.

01:14I'm not going to win a lot of fans over for this,

01:17but I think Trent's done amazing for what he has achieved at Liverpool.

01:22To be able to virtually win everything possible is phenomenal.

01:26Now he wants a new challenge.

01:28I think he's done enough to be able to warrant, to choose his own destiny.

01:34I think everybody saw how great of a first half of the season he had,

01:38how much he is here, how much he wants to win here.

01:42I see him on a training ground every day working his **** off,

01:46so he's fully committed to us.

01:50I'm sure Jude will help him settle in, but look, you know,

01:53good players adapt pretty quick, so if it goes ahead,

01:56then I have no doubt that he'll settle in and enjoy it.
