Viral Indian woman caught in video shows security blocking her at Cannes

Many influencers seemed to be having trouble with security on the Cannes red carpet as they were rushed out for bigger celebs to take over.

00:00Who is she? Look at this video carefully and you see presumably an Indian lady waving to

00:05the fleet of photographers at the Cannes Film Festival, only to be stopped by security and

00:10asked to leave the world's most rigid red carpet. She tries again and yet again, but is blocked by

00:16the security guards. A viral video has emerged out of the unending recently concluded Cannes

00:21footage, which has left social media asking, who is she? In another video, a lady almost whispers

00:27to the security to ask the woman in front of her to be asked to leave. Mind you, these are not the

00:32only instances of people being rushed out of the red carpet and their photo session dramatically cut

00:37short. Many videos show security stepping in to usher people away on the 24-step crowded 60-meter

00:43stretch of cloth, that is the Cannes red carpet. Fiercely patrolled and judged, this carpet is

00:48almost a mini-state in itself, with rules and regulations which are known, yet a mystery to most.

00:53While some things are clear, do's and don'ts, such as avoiding nudity and voluminous trains

00:57in 2025, others found themselves in a grey zone. For the last many years, the carpet has waged a

01:03war on taking selfies. In fact, the practice has been called everything from ridiculous touristy to

01:08vulgar. Needless to say, personal phones cannot show up on one of the most photographed red carpets

01:13in the world. But this rule spares important celebrities and filmmakers who are often unsaid

01:18exceptions to all such practices. Interestingly, Cannes has a reputation of being harder on men than

01:23women. While the unsaid rule for women is to wear heels, men were supposed to be in a tux and many

01:28were routinely turned away for not wearing a black tie. For women, everything from cocktail gowns

01:33to trousers is technically permitted. But the biggest war is waged on common sense on the carpet.

01:38Influencers blocking the flow of traffic and obstructing seating arrangements are often pushed

01:42to leave, and many times quite blatantly so. While some side with influencers who want their

01:47moment of glory, having spent lakhs on their outfits and travel, the fact is that organizers do not

01:53blink an eyelid when it comes to one of the most important stages of global cinema and fashion.
