00:00Hello and welcome to Manchester World. My name's Theo Hewson-Betz and we're in the middle of another sunny, brilliant day here in the city of Manchester.
00:08Now although summer doesn't officially start until June, I think it's fair to say that May's been pretty delightful.
00:14But the thing that we're waiting for, the thing that lets us know that summer's here is when the summer cocktail menus start coming out.
00:21And down at Electric Shuffle, that is about to happen at the end of this week.
00:25First of June, you've got a whole new range of exciting cocktails coming out. They look brilliant, but the reason that we're focusing on them is because there's a charity initiative embedded in there, which is absolutely worth trying to build up.
00:36Now Electric Shuffle is located down Deansgate and it's a massive open space with tons of tables and tons of shuffleboard boots.
00:43But let's talk about the cocktails.
00:45So here is the full range of cocktails. I'm going to focus in particularly on two in a minute.
00:49Just quickly, we've got the Tropic Like It's Hot, the Jungle Spritz, the Summer Blush.
00:54We've got the Love Out Loud here and we've got the Seville Sunset 0%.
00:58And then right at the front, we've got the Golden Sour, which actually isn't on the summer menu in particular.
01:03It's going to be Electric Shuffle Manchester's entry into the Manchester Cocktail Competition.
01:08As you can see, they are a brilliantly fruity, refreshing looking set of drinks.
01:14But there's two that we're going to focus on.
01:16Now, as hard as it may be to believe, we haven't just come to Electric Shuffle to talk purely about their cocktails and advertise their menu for them.
01:23We've come because they've got two great initiatives going on with this set summer menu.
01:28Now, these two cocktails, when you buy them, you are donating money to charity.
01:32This one here is the Jungle Spritz.
01:34It's made up of Aperol, Monkey 47, Almond Lemon, and it's topped with some lemonade.
01:40And 47P is donated from every cocktail bought to the WWF.
01:45Now, this side is the Love Out Loud.
01:47You've got the Stonewall Dry Gin, Midori, Passion Fruit, Orange and Lemon.
01:51And each time this cocktail is bought, one pound will be donated to Mind Out,
01:56which is a charity focusing on improving the mental health and well-being of many young people in the LGBTQ plus community across the country.
02:05Now, as I talk in to the Love Out Loud, we're going to talk a little bit about Electric Shuffle itself.
02:09And it's run by the same company as Flight Club, which has obviously had a massive impact on the game activity bar environment here in Manchester.
02:17And this one opened around a year ago and has actually been, quietly, a pretty big hit.
02:23Already, branches are opening in America based on the success.
02:26And it is a great opportunity to come down, have a couple of cocktails.
02:29You don't have to play the activities.
02:30They also have football on sometimes.
02:32They showed the Manchester United versus Tottenham game.
02:34And they've got DJs on the weekend, as well as the fact that obviously you get to play a little bit of Shuffleboard.
02:40Now, Shuffleboard genuinely is a lot of fun.
02:42It's a game I hadn't played before coming to Electric Shuffle this time last year.
02:47And I've got to say, they make it really engaging.
02:48There's a bunch of different game settings that you can pick.
02:51It gives you action replays of the things that you do really well.
02:54It's a great time.
02:54And by coming down, you can also support some great charities.
02:57So come down, give it a go and follow Manchester World for more.
