Foundation Director Richard Grundy talks to Gary Shipton
Transcript
00:01So Richard, we're at the media launch today of the Goodwood Art Foundation.
00:06Why should people from Chichester and the surrounding area come and explore this new venue?
00:12I think fundamentally one of the key things we want to do for all audiences,
00:17and particularly those local to us, is welcome people to the Goodwood Art Foundation
00:22and ensure that when they come through those gates and experience the art,
00:27the environment, and our wonderful Café 24,
00:31they then leave feeling much healthier in both body and mind.
00:37We have a fantastic selection of artwork here, both in our gallery spaces as well as in the landscape.
00:45And it's all by international world-class artists, museum level artists,
00:50and curated by our wonderful consultant curator Anne Gallagher.
00:53So the idea of being able to experience world-class art in a beautiful Dan Pearson design landscape,
01:00hopefully means that when one does visit, they can't but leave feeling healthier in both mind and body.
01:06You've got great food here as well, haven't you?
01:08We like to think so, yes. We're very lucky.
01:10We've got a wonderful chef, Harry Cartwright, who has developed a small dish menu using local produce,
01:20in fact, local from the Goodwood Farm, which you can actually see from our Café 24.
01:26And we're very lucky to have this here on our doorstep, and that serves breakfast and lunch throughout the visit.
01:34We're lucky to have here with you.
01:36We're lucky to have this here on our day.
01:40I'm so excited.
