00:09developers are calling the sentinel a habitat they're developing for life under our planet's
00:14oceans so what's the point of this undersea endeavor here's the president of deep sean
00:18woolpert to explain what we're trying to do is allow individuals to go and be at depths of up
00:23to 200 meters for at least a month at a time and what we're trying to do is buy time raise
00:29productivity for science for research and other critical activities that occur on the seabed
00:34to happen in a more fluid and safe way he says that experts estimate some 40 to 50 percent of
00:40earth's seabed has never even been seen by human eyes that means we effectively know the surface
00:44of the moon better than we know our own planet's ocean bottoms oceans which cover 71 percent of
00:49our planet what's even wilder is that the whole thing is set to be 3d printed by robots the
00:55central itself is 6.2 meters in diameter and what we're going to be doing to enable that large
01:02scale format is getting six robots to work in synchronization and we can print that within
01:07nine months within 90 days the company says they're hoping this endeavor will change the
01:12way humans understand the oceans
