00:00Today, India is once again realizing its rich maritime potential, and the apex-level vision
00:06and policymakers are aware, and their statements are reflective, of this broader maritime renaissance.
00:17Our Honorable Prime Minister, Srinya Narendra Modi, had made a clarion call of Sagar in 2015,
00:25security and growth for all in the region, and building on this legacy over the last 10 years,
00:32the vision has been rightly elevated to Mahasagar,
00:37our mutual and holistic advancement of security and growth across regions.
00:43This year, again in Mauritius.
00:47To my mind, this is reflective of India's growing stakes and steadfast conviction
00:54that our destiny as a nation lies in reclaiming our oceanic opportunities
01:00as the foundation of our future prosperity and global influence.
01:07As we look to become the third largest economy in the next few years,
01:13the seas will remain our engines for growth.
01:16I say this because amongst a plethora of data,
01:23I'll just quote two, 95% of India's trade by volume,
01:27and 88% of our energy comes from the seas.
01:32Rest, you can do your math.
01:33So India's economy is and will remain dependent upon the seas,
01:41and by colorily, our future prosperity will be driven by, at, and from the seas.
