00:00Hey, hey! Comedy!
00:03Good to be here. I love a roof gig.
00:05If this goes horribly, I can just jump right off.
00:08Human beings have up to 70,000 thoughts a day.
00:11I feel like I have four thoughts a day, 70,000 times.
00:14My four thoughts are, my parent's gonna die, I'm horny, is that cancer, is this funny?
00:18Other professions, mental health may not have been a big topic,
00:22but comedy has always destigmatized things by saying this is okay to talk about.
00:26I've got some bad news.
00:28Okay, literally haven't even said what the bad news is yet.
00:31People reach out to me because they've seen my videos.
00:34It feels like everybody in the world has anxiety and nobody knows what to do about it.
00:39Anxiety is warning you about a danger that isn't actually there.
00:44Most of what you're reacting to is something your brain is making up.
00:49Whole cheese pizza just for me.
00:51I'm literally thinking while eating it, I'm going to get cancer.
00:54But it's very tasty.
00:55This is an anxiety blanket.
00:57This weighs 15 pounds, it feels like a hug.
01:00How sad is that?
01:01Maybe I'm crazy, but I do feel like my brain is lightly trying to kill me.
01:07You know, like a freaking turbine in my brain.
01:10I am scared of getting murdered.
01:12I have a horrendous fear of the ocean.
01:14I think about my kids breaking their neck and getting paralyzed a lot.
01:18Write the statement, maybe my kids will die.
01:20That's excessive.
01:21Just to write that line.
01:23That's extreme.
01:24I know.
01:25I feel like marriage is two people maneuvering around each other's mental illness.
01:30You have anxiety like, what's going to happen in the future?
01:34Oh, exactly.
01:35Like I come up like, what if I never find my passion?
01:37I'm scared that this person's going to be right.
01:39I'm scared that I'm a failure.
01:40I'm just tired of being scared.
01:41It's exhausting.
01:42Yes.
01:43My anxiety stopped me from having children.
01:48Everything you're dealing with is really the uncertainty, the what if.
01:51Everything you're afraid to do, you're going to do.
01:53Challenging, but manageable.
01:54Okay.
01:55I guess there's a lot of pain there, fear and anger.
01:58I think it's a desire for the feeling of peace for myself and for people I love.
02:03The hardest thing in the world is to be with the feelings we don't want to be with.
02:11Having a conversation one on one, this is nothing to me.
02:14Not nothing to me, but nothing anxious.
02:18That's what I mean.
02:19Now I'm anxious because I said this is nothing to me.
02:21There it goes, it's all unraveling now.
