Telegram is raising at least $1.5 billion through a new bond offering, according to The Wall Street Journal. The bond carries a 9% yield with a five-year maturity and offers investors the option to convert holdings into Telegram shares if the company goes public. The upcoming funding round reflects investor confidence in Telegram’s growth despite founder Pavel Durov’s ongoing legal issues abroad. Durov and Telegram assert they have complied with all binding legal requests and deny wrongdoing. Telegram turned a $540 million profit in 2024 on $1.4 billion in revenue and projects $700 million in profit for 2025 as monetization tools expand.
