00:00Hey Civ fans, Carl Harrison here, game designer at Firaxis. Let's start with something you've
00:12all been waiting for, a brand new map type you can now play on Pangea+. Pangea maps have always
00:20had a special place in the hearts of players who love a good all-out brawl. Pangea+, brings this
00:27gameplay to Civ VII, with all Civs starting on a shared central homeland surrounded by
00:33a scattering of islands. These islands will have treasure resources that you'll want to
00:37grab during the Exploration Age. These contested distant lands islands make naval gameplay especially
00:45viable, but be warned, you'll need to invest in a strong army if you find yourself on this
00:50map type surrounded by leaders like Xerxes, Amina, and Harriet Tubman.
00:57Human players will now be able to spawn on both hemispheres in a multiplayer game in
01:02any age. We know players have felt limited by the human player limit, so we've increased
01:07the max human count on all maps for antiquity and exploration to be the same as the overall
01:14max player count. So if the max for a map is 8, you can have up to 8 human players in your
01:21game. If all the human players in a game can fit on the same hemisphere, they'll still be grouped
01:27together, but once there's too many human players to fit in a single hemisphere, they'll now be split
01:32up evenly between both. Your homelands will be the distant lands for players on the other hemisphere,
01:39and vice versa. By popular demand, raising penalties have been reduced. We've removed the
01:45plus one free war support opponents would gain each time you raise a settlement. Instead, raising a
01:52settlement doubles the normal conquest influence penalty. There's still a consequence for tearing
01:57down a settlement, but we hope that this one feels more forgiving. We may have nerfed raising penalties,
02:04but one-to-one brings a whole lot of buffs to leaders and civs, including Pachacuti, Friedrich Oblique
02:13and Baroque, Jose Rizal, Hapchitsit, Himiko High Shaman, Great Britain, Kumai, Majapahit,
02:34Normans, Inca, Russia, and Songhai. While UI improvements are high on our radar, this update
02:53is a bit lighter in terms of those changes. We're setting the stage for some bigger improvements
02:58coming soon, a couple of which you'll see later this June, and plenty more planned down the road.
03:05And last but not least, for all our harder difficulty players, we made some tweaks to beef
03:11up the AI, including improvements to commander pathing, offering peace treaties, city defense,
03:18and warfare. We can't thank you enough for the feedback and bug reports that you shared with
03:24our team as you build your empires. Every piece of it goes a long way in getting these updates out
03:31to you, and we promise there's a lot still cooking behind the scenes that we can't wait to share with
03:36you. We hope you enjoy 1-2-1. Keep letting us know what you think, and remember to build something you believe in.
03:46I know we'll see you later.
03:55I'm more than just a chance of hitting, and you can see these very, very small things that we're
03:55going to help.
03:56You can see these very quickly.
03:57We also achieve some ridiculous conditions to the next one in our life.
03:59And you can see these very, very lovely things that we can do.
04:01I'm looking forward to seeing everyone here in the next couple of weeks.
04:02We're going to see them brown things.
04:04We'll see them behind them.
04:05I'm looking forward to seeing them with the vision of the science, how many other things have built
