00:00Many other distinguished guests, we gather today to honor the incredible service members

00:08who rest in glory in this cemetery and burial grounds around the world and in a thousand

00:14lonely places known only to God.

00:18In every hour of peril, in every moment of crisis, American warriors have left behind

00:23the blessings of home and family to answer their nation's call.

00:27They've offered all that they had within them and given their last breaths to each and

00:35every one of us that we might live safe and breathe free.

00:41This morning, we pay tribute to their immortal deeds.

00:45We share in the sorrow of their beloved families.

00:49And as one nation, we give thanks for the ultimate gift they have so selflessly given to all of us.

00:56These warriors, and that's what they are, is great, great warriors, picked up their mantle of duty and service.

01:04Knowing that to live for others meant always that they might die for others.

01:09They knew that.

01:10They asked nothing for it.

01:12They gave everything.

01:14And we owe them everything and much, much more.

01:18Each of the service members who have made the supreme sacrifice for our nation has also left an unfillable void

01:30and an unbreakable silence in the lives of all who love them.

01:36For the families of the fallen, you feel the absence of your heroes every day.

01:42And the family, these are great families.

01:45These are wonderful families.

01:47In the familiar laugh, no longer heard, the empty space at Sunday dinner,

01:52or the want of a hug or a pat on the back that will never come again.

01:59Every Gold Star family fights a battle long after the victory is won.

02:03And today, we lift you up and we hold you high.
