Seven members of a family from Dehradun were found dead inside a car parked in Haryana's Panchkula late on Monday, May 26. Police suspect all members of the family died in a suicide pact due to mounting financial debt. The deceased included Praveen Mittal, his parents, wife, two minor daughters and a 14-year-old son. As per the initial probe, the family had arrived in Panchkula to attend a Hanuman Katha programme organised by Bageshwar Dham. They were reportedly returning to Dehradun when they allegedly committed suicide. A purported suicide note, recovered from the car, reportedly mentioned financial burden as the main reason for taking the extreme step.
