00:00This man had tapped down on the shoulder and he says,
00:03could you please come and meet Bruce Springsteen?
00:06So she went in and she was about half an hour.
00:09Anyway, she comes back and she sits down.
00:13She says, you'll never believe this.
00:15She says, look, and she just handed this cheque.
00:19I says, that says $20,000.
00:23She says, yes, it's for the Durham Area Support Group
00:26in Northumberland, off Bruce Springsteen.
00:28I says, wait, he doesn't know us.
00:31He says, yes, for he knows what you're doing.
00:37He's a hero to us.
00:39He didn't do it for publicity.
00:42He did it because he wanted to do it.
00:45And that would have helped a great deal in the support groups.
00:53Of course, my parents were working class people
00:55and I watched them struggle their whole lives
00:58and I'd been reading about it in the newspapers.
01:03And so it was just something that felt it would be a good thing to do.
01:09It wasn't a big thing.
01:11You know, it was just a good thing to do at the time.
01:13It was just a nice day that I had to do it.
01:22It wasn't a big thing to do.
01:28It was just a thing I
01:37wanted me to do it.
