00:00My team is comprised of the best of the best.
00:07Everybody has a unique set of skills,
00:11but one thing they have in common is that they're tough.
00:14Dan Griego, 20 years, United States Marine Corps combat diver.
00:18My name is Mike Pizzio, I'm a retired FBI agent.
00:21My name is Mike Haas, I'm a retired police officer out of Randolph, New Jersey.
00:25Their specialized training makes them perfect for this type of work.
00:31I've selected my divers from a group of people who wanted to put their lives on the line.
00:38You know, my guys are thrill seekers, they're adventurers,
00:41and when they come up here, they put their lives on the line.
00:44The conditions of diving Cape Breton are tough.
00:47Your average recreational diver who's gone to coral reef in Florida would not do these dives.
00:54We have heavy surge, heavy seas, currents sometimes that you can't swim against.
01:00It's not for the faint of heart. This is difficult diving up here.
01:04Because of the surge and the visibility with the kelp, it's definitely interesting.
01:10Diving to me is more dangerous than skydiving.
01:14There's just more little things that can happen,
01:17and if you don't know how to take care of them yourself,
01:19you're going to put yourself and other people in trouble right away.
01:22It's not for the average diver to get out and dive.
01:25The only reason somebody would really want to get in the water here is to search for treasure.
01:28I know where everything is. See, that's the crux here.
01:31I know what it's like to set up a site,
01:33and I know what it's like to excavate a site methodically and properly.
01:37That's why my guys follow me.
01:39To me, diving was always about finding the unknown.
01:43The most exciting dives I ever did were ones I went down an anchor line not knowing any idea was on the other end.
01:48That, to me, was the excitement. It wasn't going down and catching lobster.
01:51It wasn't going down and taking pictures of pretty fish.
01:53It was going down and finding something no one has seen since the day it went down.
01:57The reason I come here is for adventure, for camaraderie, teamwork, you know, getting people together that are the top of their communities,
02:07but being able to come out here and work together.
02:10This is a family business. There are very few people that are capable of this on the planet.
02:15And being able to maintain our legacy means everything to me.
