00:00Friends, the movie begins with a town scene where two kids are playing.

00:04The elder brother's name is Edward and the younger one is Alphonse.

00:09Along with playing, both brothers were also learning the technique of alchemy.

00:14Using this knowledge, they could transform one metal into another.

00:18That means they had the ability to turn a simple metal into gold.

00:23And with the same technique, they used to make toys for themselves.

00:26One such day, they make some toys and go to show them to their mother.

00:31Seeing this, their mother becomes very happy and praises them.

00:34But suddenly, their mother feels a sharp pain in her chest and suffers a heart attack.

05:51There, Edward notices that a smoky statue is standing near him.

05:56The statue says to Edward,

05:58To bring back the dead, you must give a part of your own body.

06:02And Edward desperately wanted to bring his mother back.

06:06So he gave his leg in exchange.

06:08After that, Edward finds himself back inside his home.

06:13Where he realizes that he has lost one of his legs forever.

06:18As he looks around frantically, he doesn't see his brother anywhere.

06:22Edward realizes he has lost his brother.

06:24So he starts the ritual once again.

06:27As soon as he closes his eyes, he finds himself standing before the same gate again.
