00:00Morgan is a single mother of three children, who works as a night-time janitor for the police department.
00:05One day, during her night shift, she knocks down a box containing case files.
00:10As she bends to rearrange the files, she sees pictures from a recent murder case.
00:14And from looking at the case board of suspects, she immediately pieces everything together,
00:20and points out that one of the suspects is actually a victim.
00:24The next day, as all the officers gather for a meeting concerning the murder case,
00:28Detective Karadek notices the change on the case board, and inquires about it.
00:35But everyone is as confused as he is.
00:38So he gets angry, and orders his team to look through the CCTV footage.
00:43They discover from the footage that Morgan is responsible for the change,
00:47and invite her to the station for questioning.
00:53The lieutenant is curious about her reason for changing the suspect to a victim,
00:57so Morgan makes a comprehensive analysis just by looking at the photos from the case files.
01:02According to the case, a man had been murdered,
01:05and his wife vanished after the murder, making her the prime suspect.
01:09But from a glance at the photos, Morgan immediately points out evidence to prove
01:14that there was a third person on the day of the murder,
01:16and that his person must have kidnapped the wife to shift the police's focus.
01:22As they discuss, an officer enters and announces they found footage of someone
01:26entering the victim's house on the day of the murder.
01:28Although this proves that there was a third person,
01:31Detective Karadek insists that Morgan is arrested for tampering with the police investigation.
01:40In the meantime, they review footage from the day of the murder, and discover that a woman
01:45named Ms. Zhang had visited the victim's home 30 minutes before the murder.
01:50Ms. Zhang, a former employee of the victim, is brought in for questioning,
01:56but she denies everything and claims she was at home on the day of the murder.
02:06Later that day, Morgan is released from jail, and as she walks out,
02:09she overhears the officers talking about Ms. Zhang's footage.
02:13From a glance at the footage, Morgan immediately notices that it has been altered,
02:17so she voices this out. However, Detective Karadek brushes off her suspicions.
02:25As she turns to leave, the lieutenant stops her for an explanation.
02:30She explains that the wind blew from south to north in the footage,
02:33which shouldn't be the case since winds blow from north to south during the fall in LA.
02:38Since the wind was blowing from the south, the footage must have been from months ago.
02:42After fact-checking her claims, they realize that the footage had been
02:48altered to make Ms. Zhang a prime suspect. As Morgan leaves the station, the lieutenant
02:56stops her for a discussion. Morgan confesses that she has an IQ of 160 and that she watches
03:02a lot of documentaries. Meanwhile, Detective Karadek meets up with the daughter of the
03:12victim, who tells him that weeks before the murder incident, her missing mother,
03:17Lynette, had received a secret letter from a woman named Sarah.
03:21After the mother read the letter, Sarah killed herself, so the mother became agitated. Upon
03:26hearing this, Detective Karadek becomes curious about the content of the letter
03:30and tells lieutenant about this. They plan to search for the letter in the missing woman's
03:34office, so the lieutenant goes to beg Morgan to assist them in solving the case.
03:39Later that day, Detective Karadek briefs Morgan on the whole timeline of the case
03:43and brings her to question the missing woman's sister. During the questioning,
03:47Morgan realizes that the sister is a biologist and is hiding something from the police.
03:53When she tells Detective Karadek about her suspicion, he dismisses her for meddling too much.
03:59Later, Detective Karadek goes to the missing woman's office and seeks permission to search
04:04her office for the missing letter, but they turn down his offer. Unknown to him,
04:09Morgan had disguised herself as a nurse to infiltrate the office and find the letter.
04:14When she presents the letter to him, he yells at her for stealing the letter
04:19since it could lead to her arrest, but she calms him down and tells him to read the letter.
04:26The person who wrote the letter had been assaulted by a powerful man named Brian
04:36and needed the missing woman's help to sue the man. From this, Morgan suspects that the powerful
04:41man has something to do with the murder case. Upon hearing this, Detective Karadek instructs
04:46her to return the letter to the office while he calls the powerful man Brian for interrogation.
04:52Brian denies knowing anything, and when an officer looks into his alibi,
04:55they discover that Brian was in Fontana City on the day of the murder,
04:58which rules him out as a suspect. While all this is happening, the office discovers that
05:08Morgan has stolen a letter, so they visit the station to lodge a complaint.
05:12Seeing the disaster, Detective Karadek dismisses Morgan from the case and tells her to return to
05:17her everyday life. But he visits her home the next day to learn more about her suspicions,
05:23so she explains that there's something wrong with Brian's alibi of being in Fontana City.
05:29This city is known for its fun packs, so Brian doesn't look like the kind of person to visit
05:34Fontana City alone. She also reveals that at the sister's house, she saw a toy with a Fontana logo,
05:42which means the sister and Brian are having an affair. Detective Karadek notes that her
05:46deductions are convincing, but there's nothing they can do since Brian and the sister had an
05:52alibi for the day of the murder. As they drive to the station, Morgan raises a suspicion. She
05:58believes the murder had happened days before, but the perpetrators staged the scene to make
06:03it seem like it happened recently. As they inspect the murder scene, they ultimately
06:07conclude that the missing woman had confronted Brian about the assault on the letter,
06:12so Brian got violent. Seeing the situation, the missing woman's husband grabs a gun to threaten
06:17Brian, but Brian kills him with the gun. Then, they tie up the missing woman, and since the
06:23sister is a biologist, she suggests that they freeze the house to tamper with the Corona's
06:29time of death estimate. Before leaving, they alter the CCTV footage to frame someone else.
06:35Once they reach this conclusion, they immediately deduce where Brian had hidden the missing woman,
06:39and she's immediately rescued. Seeing this, Lieutenant offers Morgan a consulting position
06:44at the police department, but she turns down the offer, saying she isn't cut out to be a detective.
06:53The next day, while taking a walk with her eldest daughter at the park,
06:57she notices that her daughter is sad about her father, who's been missing for 15 years. The
07:03daughter believes that her father abandoned them, but Morgan tries to explain that her husband
07:08vanished into thin air. The daughter doesn't believe this, so that day, Morgan returns to
07:15the station to accept their job offer, but on the condition that they help find her missing husband,
07:20Roman Cinqueri, who disappeared years ago. Hearing this, the lieutenant agrees to her offer.
07:32So, Morgan begins working as a detective, and assists in solving complex cases.
07:36One day, she requests progress on the case of her missing husband,
07:40so Lieutenant Selene inquires for more details that will lead them to find him. Morgan reveals
07:46that the last time she saw her husband was the night he drove his car to buy diapers for their
07:51newborn. After that day, he vanished into thin air. After getting this detail, Lieutenant Selene
07:58promises to reopen and pursue the case. That night, as Morgan eats dinner with her children,
08:08her son informs her that the eldest daughter had an A in an art project.
08:12Feeling proud, Morgan takes her daughter to the basement
08:21to show her paintings of her missing husband, but this only annoys the daughter,
08:26since she believes that her father abandoned her. Morgan reassures her that the father will
08:31never abandon them, and that the police will get to the root of the truth. But one day,
08:36Lieutenant stops by Morgan's house to inform her about an update on her missing husband's case.
08:41According to the lieutenant, her husband's car had been found at a police impound,
08:46three days after he went missing. Inside the car, they had found a baby's diapers,
08:51which means her husband never had the intention of abandoning her.
08:54Something terrible must have happened to him. Hearing this, Morgan breaks down in tears.
09:00In the next few days, as Morgan continues to help unravel murder cases,
09:03the lieutenant discovers an interesting detail on her missing husband's case
09:07and confronts a detective named Mellon. It turns out that Detective Mellon had
09:13once arrested Morgan's husband for painting a mural on the street 15 years ago.
09:21She asks him to drive her to the mural's location, so they visit the place together. Once they arrive,
09:28they find a mural painting, which the lieutenant hopes will give her a lead on the case.
09:33So that night, she visits Morgan once again to share this detail.
09:37She shows Morgan pictures of the mural and reveals that her husband had once been detained
09:42for painting the mural since the location was an unauthorized place often frequented by criminals.
09:48Lieutenant suspects that her husband must have seen something he wasn't supposed to,
09:53which led him to go missing, but Morgan shuts this down and claims her husband would have
09:57told her if he saw something. Then, she hands over many of her husband's mural paintings to
10:03assist the lieutenant in unraveling more about the case. Months after working at the station,
10:09Morgan becomes eligible to receive a detective badge. While celebrating the new badge at the
10:14restroom, a woman walks in crying, so Morgan becomes worried and inquires about her reason
10:20for crying. The woman reveals that her two daughters are missing, and she's at the station
10:24to make a report so Morgan assures her that the children will be found. When the detectives
10:29question the woman, she reveals that her divorced husband, Wendell, was a radical environmentalist
10:34who had always wanted them to live off the grid. Upon hearing this, the detectives begin an
10:42investigation on Wendell, her divorced husband, and they discover he had applied for a children's
10:49passport in the previous month. He becomes the prime suspect in the kids' kidnapping, so both
10:54Detective Karadek and Morgan pay a visit to his house. They find no one at home, but Morgan notices
11:00a greenhouse nearby and goes to inspect it. However, she notices that cucumber and tomatoes
11:06are planted together, which is weird because the two plants can't thrive when
11:12growing together, and since the suspect was an environmentalist, he should know this.
11:18Morgan concludes that the greenhouse had been initially empty, but someone moved the plants in.
11:23With this lead, Detective Karadek speculates that the suspect must have moved the plants
11:28into the greenhouse to cover up someone or something, so they begin to dig around the floor
11:34and immediately discover the dead boy of Wendell, the suspect. This means he was a victim of
11:40something bigger, and the two missing children are in danger. While inspecting the area,
11:45an officer reports that one of the neighbors often saw the dead man with a red-haired woman
11:50with glasses. Another officer also finds a portrait of two older people in the victim's
11:55room, so they plan to investigate their relationship with the victim. Meanwhile,
12:00Morgan and Detective Karadek go to visit the mother of the kidnapped girls and realize that
12:04her father lives in a mansion with a personal driver on standby in a car. As Detective Karadek
12:11interviews the family, Morgan slips out to make friends with one of the housekeepers,
12:15who reveals that days before the suspect died, he had met with the father-in-law.
12:24At the office, Morgan reads the report from Child Protection Services on the suspect and
12:29tells Detective Karadek that the report doesn't match people's descriptions of the suspect.
12:33People describe the man as loving, but the report wrote negatively about him.
12:37So, they research the social worker who wrote the report and realized it was a red-haired woman
12:43wearing glasses named Sarah. She becomes the prime suspect, and when they go to visit her,
12:49Morgan notices tons of mail bills on her table. She also points out that Sarah uses cheap dish
12:55soap, which means she's broke. However, there's a fresh Hawaiian orchid lei in her room,
13:01which is native to Hawaii, which means Sarah had recently gone on a trip to Hawaii.
13:12Morgan deduces that Sarah is working with the wealthy father-in-law,
13:15and has been bribed to write a negative report on the dead man. Hearing this, Sarah immediately
13:21confesses that the father-in-law had bribed a lot of people to paint the dead man as a bad person.
13:31So, they immediately go to arrest the father-in-law. One of the drivers at the house
13:35also confesses that the father-in-law had gone somewhere on the day of the murder.
13:40During interrogation, Detective Karadek speculates that the father-in-law had hired a hitman to deal
13:45with the dead man because the man had evidence about his unethical business practices. Although
13:50the father-in-law denies this claim, he succumbs to pressure after Detective Karadek is convinced
13:55that the hitman may have something to do with the kidnapped children. They immediately go to arrest
14:00the hitman, but the children are nowhere to be found. Now, back to square one. The detectives
14:05begin to suspect that the mother of the kidnapped children must have a motive for killing her ex-
14:10husband since he had the intention of exposing her father's unethical business practices.
14:15Upon hearing this, Morgan flares up and tries to exonerate the mother, but the detectives insist
14:21on putting her on the suspect list. Suddenly, an officer announces that the mother of the
14:26kidnapped girls had been caught withdrawing a huge amount from the bank and had gone missing
14:31ever since. With this, the detectives speculate that the mother had killed her ex-husband
14:40and kidnapped the kids to keep them from talking. This speculation leads to an argument between
14:45Morgan and Detective Karadek. That night, as Morgan watches the news on the kidnapped girls,
14:50she notices an artifact behind the girl's photo and recalls not seeing it when she went for
14:55inspection at the house, which means someone had taken it. With this lead, she browses the
15:04internet about Chinese artifacts and traces a store that sells artifacts. At the store,
15:09she runs into the kidnapped girl's mother and asks why she wants to sell the artifact.
15:14So the woman confesses that the kidnapper had reached out for a ransom, so she needed cash to
15:20get her girls released. She believes reporting to the police will put her daughters in danger,
15:25so Morgan decides to help. They inform Detective Karadek about the development,
15:29so he proposes to go with the mother to the ransom exchange location. The mother arrives
15:34at the location and gives the bag of money to the kidnapper, but he escapes without releasing
15:38the daughters. As everyone panics, Detective Karadek reveals he had placed a tracker in the
15:44money bag, so they set out to trace the kidnapper's car, but they find the car on fire with no children
15:50in it. As Morgan inspects the burnt car, she turns on the radio so the broadcast automatically
15:55switches to a betting station. At this, she immediately remembers that during their visit
16:01to the wealthy father-in-law's house, one of the drivers was listening to a betting broadcast,
16:06and that his car was parked in a way that allowed him to see the kidnapped girl's mother's room.
16:12With this, Morgan concludes that the driver was in love with the mother, so he orchestrated the
16:18kidnapping to extract money from the family and live a life worthy enough to ask out the mother.
16:24He had also killed the children's father and buried him in the greenhouse in order to kidnap
16:29the girls. During interrogation, the driver reveals he had kidnapped and hid the girls on
16:34a mountain, but they managed to escape. As the police search for the girls on the mountain,
16:39they discover that the little girls had set rescue clues due to the teaching from their father,
16:44who was an environmentalist. With this, they're able to locate the little girls through clues
16:50and return them to their worried mother. The next day, Morgan brings her daughter to work
16:55to fulfill a promise. While showing her daughter around the office, the girl excuses herself to
17:00use the bathroom. At the same time, a strange woman walks into the station and snatches a gun
17:06from an officer. She holds everyone hostage and claims there's a bomb planted in different parts
17:11of the station. As her partner in crime grabs all the officer's phones, Morgan manages to send a
17:17text to her daughter to leave the building. The daughter receives the text, and as she's about to
17:23leave, she hears a gunshot from her mother's office, so she hesitates. Meanwhile, the two
17:29criminals hold the detectives hostage and explain that one of their friends is about to be charged
17:34with a murder he didn't commit. So, they want the detectives to find evidence that could prove his
17:40innocence. Outside the station, Lieutenant and Detective Karadek run data on the two criminals
17:46and discover their former U.S. military soldiers. The soldiers put a call to Lieutenant, informing
17:52her to find evidence that could prove their friend's innocence, or else everyone dies.
18:00Unknown to them, Morgan's daughter hasn't left the building.
18:03Meanwhile, Lieutenant and Detective Karadek gather data on the case to prove the friend's
18:08innocence. According to the previous investigation of the case, a senior military soldier had been
18:14killed in an RV van with all the evidence pointing to a man named Logan, who was immediately arrested.
18:20However, his friends claim he's innocent. As the lieutenant carries on their investigation outside
18:25the station, the two military soldiers holding the detectives captive force them to revisit the
18:30crime's case board. One of the detectives looks at the board and confirms that all evidence points
18:36to Logan. At this moment, Morgan interrupts to point out that something is missing from the crime
18:41scene. It's a small detail showing a blood stain with a perfect corner, which means someone had
18:46removed a file or paper after the blood spilled. With this lead, Morgan seeks permission to contact
18:59the detectives outside. She instructs Detective Karadek to search the dead victim's RV van for
19:05any printed paper, but he doesn't find anything. But he decides to look through the victim's
19:10computer to find the last file the victim was working on. He discovers that the victim was
19:16writing up a paper to punish an unknown soldier. While everyone is shocked at this, the male
19:27captor discovers Morgan's daughter hiding in the corner, so they bring her to join the other
19:32captives. Meanwhile, Detective Karadek invites the victim's daughter for interrogation, and she
19:38reveals that her father had missed their dinner date before his death due to being busy. So,
19:46Detective Karadek suggests that Morgan look through the victim's phone location history
19:51on the day he missed a date with his daughter. Looking through the phone, Morgan discovers that
19:56the dead victim had gone to a place known for its drug dealership before driving to a detox center.
20:03So, the lieutenant instructs an officer to dig up data of any soldier related to the victim who is
20:08dealing with drug abuse. Meanwhile, the male captor begins to grow anxious due to the delay
20:13in the investigation. He tries to convince his partner not to trust the police, but she calms
20:18him down. Using this opportunity, an officer attempts to subdue the captors, but mistakenly
20:24gets shot in the leg. Morgan pleads for immediate medical attention, but the captors refuse. So,
20:30Morgan reveals that the female captor is pregnant and in a relationship with Logan,
20:36the wrongly imprisoned man. Upon hearing this, the other captor starts an argument,
20:41believing his partner in crime betrayed him, but they immediately settle the issue.
20:46Morgan uses emotional manipulation to convince the captor to let the officer receive medical help.
20:56So, they agree to send out the injured officer together with Morgan's daughter.
21:01Meanwhile, Detective Karadek visits the last location of the dead victim and quickly informs
21:06the lieutenant that the victim was last seen with a blonde grunt man. However, the CCTV footage is
21:13blurry, so the captors are unable to make out the face. This leads to a tense argument between the
21:18two captors, with the man claiming that the police are going nowhere with the case. The woman tries
21:23to calm him, but he flares up more. At the corner, Morgan pieces the case together and settles on a
21:29speculation. She points out that from the previous investigation, they discovered that the dead victim
21:35had bought a tracking device days before his death, which means he had been tracking someone
21:41when he visited the drug dealership center. If the person who killed Frank didn't know he was
21:46being tracked, he might still have the tag on him. Morgan checks the victim's phone and discovers a
21:52location tracking app that indicates that the person being tracked had visited the RV van on
21:57the day of the murder. With this, Morgan assumes that the murderer is unaware that the tracker is
22:02on him. So, using the app, she gets the murderer's location, and Detective Karadek goes to make the
22:08arrest. Seeing the situation, the male captor turns on his partner, striking her from behind.
22:17He grabs her gun and refuses to release the hostage, demanding a way out of the station. He
22:23threatens to detonate the bomb in the office, but Morgan quickly deduces there's no bomb and calls
22:29his bluff. The female captor recovers from the blow and confirms the
22:38bomb was just a bluff. With that, they overpower the male captor and safely release the hostages.
22:46Outside, Morgan reunites with her daughter, and Logan, the wrongly jailed man, is released.
22:51After a few days, Lieutenant calls Morgan into her office and tells her there's an update on
22:56her missing husband's case. The Lieutenant reveals that Morgan's missing husband had
23:00been meeting a strange man frequently before he went missing. The strange man's name is Conforth.
23:09Hearing this, Morgan reveals she doesn't know the man, so Lieutenant decides to set up a meeting
23:14with the man. The next day, they set up a meeting with Conforth. When they ask him about Morgan's
23:20missing husband, whom he met 15 years ago, Conforth claims not to remember anything,
23:28but Morgan pleads for his help in finding her husband, so he proposes a bargain.
23:33He asks that they release his nephew, who's about to go to jail for minor misconduct.
23:37The Lieutenant, hearing this, agrees to help only if he provides useful information on Morgan's
23:42missing husband. That next day, Lieutenant calls Detective Karadek into her office and fills him
23:48in on Morgan's missing husband's case. Then, she asks for his help in releasing Conforth's nephew
23:54from jail. That night, as Morgan closes from work, she runs into Conforth, who asks for a ride in her
24:00car. In the car, he tells her he'll be leaving town soon but will provide useful information
24:05about her missing husband when he returns. So, Morgan returns to her daily life of solving
24:11murder cases with the detectives. One day, the Lieutenant invites all the detectives at the
24:16office to a police gala event hosted for all the detectives in town. However, their excitement soon
24:26dies down when Detective Karadek receives an email from an anonymous sender. The email contains
24:31photos of a man being held hostage with a sign that says, 2 hours to make your move. With this,
24:37Detective Karadek speculates that the kidnapper wants to play a game with them. So, an officer
24:42runs data on the hostage and discovers his identity. When they arrive at the hostage's house,
24:48they find a delivery package on the doorstep. Upon opening the package, they find a jigsaw puzzle.
24:54Morgan immediately assembles the pieces which gradually form a map. However, one piece is
24:59missing to complete the puzzle. So, the detectives conclude that the man is being held hostage at the
25:06missing location. This location points to the mountains. So, Detective Karadek and Morgan set
25:11out to find clues. While patrolling the area, they run into another clue which requires them to play
25:17a card game to learn the next path to take. After playing the game, it points them to the next path
25:22to take. So, they continue the journey on the mountains. Then, they stumble across another
25:28puzzle. And upon solving it, they uncover the location of the man being held captive.
25:33After rescuing the man, he reveals he had been attacked on his way home.
25:41And the captor forced him to play games. According to him, the captor wore an anime mask and never
25:47uttered a word. While looking at the board for the case, Morgan points out that the captor made
25:51them solve the kid's puzzle, which means the suspect could be obsessed with children's games.
25:57However, they're unable to dig up anything. Later that night, Morgan meets up with Cunforth
26:02to get an update on her missing husband's case. The man reveals that days before her husband
26:08went missing, he had been worried about the safety of his family and that he had been
26:12working with a strange woman named Lila Flynn. But Morgan doesn't recognize the name,
26:19so Cunforth promises to contact her with more information in the coming days.
26:27The next day, the detective finds three strange dolls with the words,
26:34the fun has just begun. They immediately realize that the perpetrator is a psycho
26:39playing a game with the police. While trying to uncover the case, one of the officers suddenly
26:44confesses that he knew the man who was held captive. As they sit around to listen to him,
26:49he reveals that the captive man was a member of a private therapy for people who lost their loved
26:54ones. Upon hearing this, Lieutenant instructs them to interrogate everyone in the therapy group
26:59who might know something. She also instructs Morgan to investigate why the perpetrator sent
27:04three baby dolls. In the therapy group, the members reveal that an absent member often
27:09talks about games and is obsessed with it. They reveal that the man had lost his sister and was
27:14angry that he could no longer play games with her. After the interrogation, the therapy leader
27:19reveals that one of their members is absent from their meeting, which is unusual. So,
27:24the detective visits her house but finds it in complete disarray. When they turn off the lights
27:29in the apartment, they find a cryptic message on the wall with the words, you can't tell in the
27:34dark. Morgan analyzes this and realizes that the apartment owner was an APL interpreter who works
27:41with deaf people, and deaf people can't communicate in the dark. You know who can't talk in the dark?
27:47People who are deaf because you have to be able to see sign language in order to use it.
27:50Piecing everything together, Morgan points out that the three baby dolls they found
27:55had sign language on them. After analyzing the dolls' sign language, they arrive at another
28:00cryptic message that leads them to the location of the captured therapy member. The captured woman
28:06is locked in a box with a code, which Morgan cracks by analyzing the painting on the wall.
28:12After this event, the lieutenant assigns an officer to every member of the therapy group
28:16as a safe measure. Then, she informs the detectives to prepare for the police
