00:00Are you rewarding yourself after a workout? If so, you might be part of a group of people
00:05researchers worry are lazier during the day after they exercise. A study published in the journal
00:11Current Nutrition Reports suggests that the more time you spend engaging in a structured exercise
00:17routine, the more likely you are to cut back on other physical daily activities. It could be the
00:23reason people struggle to lose weight, even if they exercise. Non-exercise activities such as
00:29walking the dog or riding a bike to work need to be looked at. If these activities are suddenly
00:34stopped, the total daily energy expenditure is less than expected, and thus the weight loss will be
00:40less than expected, explains the study author. Dietary compensation should also be looked at,
00:46although it is reportedly less common, says Fox News. Interestingly enough, those who enjoy
00:52exercising were the group found less likely to partake in these compensatory motions.
00:57They also achieved greater weight loss.
