00:01I really enjoy my job.
00:10And I really can't imagine ever doing anything else.
00:14I'll definitely keep working on the water, likely until I retire.
00:30Quite often, people just ride along with us for the fun of it.
00:33That means they get on board, I take them to the other side,
00:37and then they just stay on board and ride right back,
00:40just so that they can say they took the ferry. And that's fine.
00:50The job's called Inland Boatman.
00:52It's an interesting job with lots of variety.
00:55Different customers every day, new ones and regulars.
01:00Good morning.
01:07Hello.
01:09Every morning, I'm lucky enough to take the ferry.
01:12It does take some getting used to, like when you get there
01:15and the ferry has just left.
01:18But then you just unwind and chill.
01:26Darn it. What's going on?
01:30The job may not be physically demanding, but it is mentally taxing.
01:37If I'm working nine hours, that means I need to be focused for nine hours.
01:42Yeah, this actually happens sometimes.
01:44More often in winter, not so much in the summer.
01:47And this will get you going again.
02:04There you go.
02:05What do I owe you?
02:06Nothing at all.
02:07Nothing for the coffee kitty.
02:08No, please just move along and enjoy your day.
02:11Thanks.
02:14I'm responsible for the school children who cross here and for all the other passengers.
02:18for the cars, for my crew.
02:20I must keep an eye on everything.
02:29As you can see, the weather's beautiful and the people are in a good mood.
02:33It's just interesting and nice to see what goes on here.
02:37If it is just happening.
02:38I like the weather's beautiful.
02:39It's just happening.
02:40And we're getting there.
02:41Let's see what happens.
