00:00Aeron and Adso have set out on a quest as bold as it is doomed.
00:13On their journey, they'll cross the scorched remains of Bessacar Hamlet.
00:20Its streets are stocked by the Queen's hunters and cursed souls,
00:26doomed to roam and spread only death in their wake.
00:32But something worse lingers here.
00:36An ancient hunger, thirsting for blood.
00:45To face the Crimson Fort is madness,
00:49but it blocks the only path to Duria,
00:52the ancient city where fate pulls Aeron and Adso closer to the palace.
00:58Cursed long ago, its inhabitants endure a living death.
01:04Their bodies decayed, their minds broken.
01:10There's nothing left in them but pain and violence.
01:16And yet, deep within the ruins, someone may still be.
01:26Someone who hasn't given up.
01:29The Doyen graves rise untouched by time.
01:37Solemn monuments carved by the first hands of human kind.
01:43For centuries, their towering tombs have held the silence of the dead.
01:54But now, that silence is broken.
02:00A necromancer's call has roused the graves.
02:06The dead walk once more.
02:08They hunt one who has also awakened,
02:13and runs from eyes no longer blind.
02:16Forged in blood and sand,
02:22the citadel of Varismunda still stands,
02:26a war-scarred monument to a forgotten age.
02:30Here, the ancient forgers once defeated the tyrant Thaludak
02:35and his monstrous Athanatoi,
02:38ending an era of darkness beneath storm-split skies.
02:43They buried their enemies beneath the citadel.
02:47A warning.
02:48A boast.
02:49But they didn't bury them deep enough.
02:53Now, Queen Nerea has stirred the sands
02:57and called the Athanatoi back to life.
03:00And they will be her sword against Arran.
03:04On the icy shores of an ancient fjord,
03:11carved by the tides of the Forger's Sea,
03:14stands Winter's Wall.
03:16A fortress of frost and stone,
03:19silent beneath a sky of falling snow.
03:23Once it welcomed travelers on the path to the Royal Palace.
03:27Now it stands cold and abandoned.
03:31Long ago, royal caravans passed this way,
03:36through the Dryad forest and up the cliffs where the palace rests.
03:42Here, Arran was born and knew warmth, love and princess Nerea.
03:50And here, under a sky heavy with sorrow, his world shattered.
03:57This is where his exile began.
