00:00Joe, when we look at the American League Rookie of the Year, when we did the preview show here, right here, this time, this network, can you imagine?
00:08We mentioned Jacob Wilson, and lo and behold, there he is at minus 150, but the Martian Jason Dominguez is starting to rear his head.
00:16Now, can we live in a world where the New York Yankees will have the American League MVP in Aaron Judge, the American League Cy Young Award winner in Max Frieden,
00:24the American League Rookie of the Year in Jason Dominguez?
00:27No. No, you're not.
00:29They love to spread this stuff around.
00:32It's hard for even, you know, the Cy Young, and that's one of the things that hurts Max Frieden.
00:37It's hard to get MVP and Cy Young on the same team.
00:39You know, it's very difficult.
00:41So I do think they spread this around, and I know Jacob Wilson's at the top of it, but he's been kind of the placeholder guy,
00:46and typically the guy at the top of the leaderboard for American League or National League Rookie of the Year is not the one that wins at this stage.
00:53So what I want to look to is ahead.
00:55You mentioned Dominguez being better, that's fine.
00:56And Christian Campbell has not been great, unfortunately, in the month of May.
01:00He hit a brick wall, so we'll see if he can recover from it.
01:04You know I have zero faith in Jack Leiter.
01:06He just walked the ballpark this weekend again, so I'm just not into it.
01:09But there is a guy, and he is my guy, Nick Kurtz at plus 3,500.
01:13Joey Leike, the Nick Kurtz, who, by the way, is starting to figure things out.
01:17Starting to hit a little bit, yeah.
01:19Let's take a look at the last seven days for Nick Kurtz, shall we?
01:22I think it's a fun thing.
01:2325 at-bats, four homers in his last 25 at-bats, nine RBI.
01:27He's got five walks.
01:29That's what you want to see.
01:30Five walks, just seven strikeouts, hitting 280 over those seven games.
01:34He's figuring it out.
01:35And if you've seen some of the home runs, he's hitting opposite field home runs.
01:38He's hitting mammoth dead center field home runs.
01:41He is starting to feel it again after a rough beginning to his major league debut.
01:45That's okay.
01:47Nick Kurtz is figuring it out, and I do think when all is said and done,
01:49he is going to be the guy that we sit back and we see 20-plus home runs,
01:53and we say, yeah, it's that guy.
01:55He is going to be that cornerstone player for the athletics.
01:58Remember when Tyler Soderstrom was a thing in April?
02:01Yes.
02:01Yeah, not so much in May.
02:03If only there was a show that talked about that.
02:05Remember that drop-off?
02:06Hope you sold high, everybody.
02:08Hope you sold high.
02:09Hope you sold high.
