00:12was accorded a formal welcome at the Perdana Putra complex on Sunday.

00:16Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim received his Vietnamese counterpart upon arrival at 2.30pm.

00:23Chin is accompanied by his spouse Leti Bich Tran,

00:27Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son,

00:30as well as several cabinet ministers and senior Vietnamese officials.

00:34Chin assumed office in April 2021.

00:45His visit comes ahead of the 46th ASEAN Summit,

00:492nd ASEAN GCC Summit and ASEAN China GCC Summit.

00:55Following the welcome ceremony, Chin and Anwar held a bilateral meeting

01:00to review the progress of Malaysia-Vietnam relations,

01:03which were elevated to a comprehensive strategic partnership in November 2024.

01:09The two leaders also exchanged views on regional and global developments,

01:14reaffirming ASEAN's role as a cohesive and responsive platform

01:18in navigating shared challenges amid evolving geopolitical and geoeconomic landscapes.
