Transcript
00:00So Delahoy wasn't big in the Pacquiao when he fought him?
00:02No, you got full credit for beating Delahoy.
00:04Answer the question.
00:05You deserve that. You moved up.
00:06Answer the question.
00:07Welcome to WatchMojo, and today we're counting down our picks for the most
00:12jaw-dropping moments broadcast on live television where celebrities couldn't hold it together.
00:17We'll also be including incidents that were recorded live to tape with a live audience present.
00:22I can kick.
00:24Okay, I'm gonna go check on the top ten.
00:30Number 30, Dennis Rodman kicks a cameraman, NBA.
00:35Nicknamed the Worm and the Bad Boy of the NBA,
00:38Dennis Rodman has always pushed the envelope on and off the basketball court.
00:46However, it was during a heated game between the Chicago Bulls and the Minnesota Timberwolves in
00:511997 that Rodman had one of his most infamous outbursts on live TV.
01:00After falling out of bounds vying for a rebound,
01:03Rodman lashed out and kicked cameraman Eugene Amos square in the groin.
01:08I really wasn't trying to physically hurt you.
01:11And the photographer is hurt.
01:13It was just the heat of the moment, and the things that I did was more like,
01:17okay, great, I'm gonna do this, and hopefully that, you know, things will be cool.
01:21The incident, broadcast to millions, led to a massive backlash against Rodman.
01:26He was suspended for 11 games without pay, costing him over $1 million in salary.
01:32Number 29, Sam the Cooking Guy snaps.
01:36Today.
01:36In 2008, during a live segment on NBC's Today with then hosts Kathy Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb,
01:44Sam Zion, better known as Sam the Cooking Guy, seemingly snapped.
01:48We're making a tuna-
01:49Tuna's the second thing we have in our house.
01:50Can I talk?
01:51As the notoriously chatty Kathy Lee and Hoda kept talking over the chef while he was trying
01:56to present his recipe, Sam visibly lost patience. In a rather jarring moment,
02:02he bluntly told them to pipe down.
02:04Pay attention one minute.
02:05Momentarily stunned, Kathy Lee and Hoda carried on in awkward laughter.
02:10And while viewers were mixed about whether the outburst was disrespectful,
02:14Sam later explained he was frustrated after being constantly interrupted.
02:19I was lying about your eyebrows. I think they're shabby.
02:22All right. Okay. Onion. I don't even know what I got. Cucumber.
02:27Number 28, Mika Brzezinski freaks out over Paris Hilton news story.
02:32Morning Joe.
02:33During a live broadcast of MSNBC's Morning Joe in 2007, co-host Mika Brzezinski made
02:40it abundantly clear that she had had enough of celebrity gossip cluttering serious news coverage.
02:46Hold on a second. I'm going to make a point. We're not covering this, all right?
02:50Yeah, exactly.
02:51I'm done with the Paris Hilton story.
02:56When producers handed her a lead story about Paris Hilton, Brzezinski refused to read it.
03:02Heck, she even tried to set the script on fire with a lighter
03:05before shredding it dramatically in a paper shredder.
03:07I'm shredding.
03:08Symbolic gesture number three.
03:10This is my Paris Hilton.
03:13What a statement.
03:14That is a statement about the state of journalism in our country.
03:17You have changed the world, Mika Brzezinski.
03:19Yes, I have. At least my world.
03:20The moment went viral and was seen as a stand against the tabloidization of news.
03:25Mika, in turn, earned respect for sticking to her journalistic principles.
03:30It was a symbolic moment for the show, which is to say,
03:33this is the way things have sort of been done. These are the things you've seen
03:36talked about in the morning. They're literally going into a shredder and we're starting something new.
03:40Number 27. Actor Danny Dyer gets fired up over David Cameron.
03:45Good evening, Britain.
03:47English actor Danny Dyer didn't mince words during a 2018 live episode of ITV's Good Evening Britain.
03:54What's happened to that David Cameron who called you on? Let's be fair.
03:57I think you're referring to our former Prime Minister.
03:59When asked about Brexit, Dyer, who often portrays the tough guy,
04:03launched into a furious rant, calling the former Prime Minister David Cameron
04:08a number of unseemly names for walking away from the situation he created.
04:13Where is the geezer? I think he should be held accountable for it.
04:17He should be held accountable for it.
04:19It's a valid point.
04:20Danny's fiery remarks drew a few chuckles,
04:22though then-opposition leader Jeremy Corbyn managed to remain stone-faced.
04:27After finishing, the actor leaned back in his chair and crossed his arms.
04:31We think it's safe to say he's not exactly a David Cameron supporter.
04:35Where is he? He's in Europe, in Nice, with his trotters up, yeah?
04:38Number 26. Dan Marino's famous freakout, inside the NFL.
04:43Legendary quarterback and NFL Hall of Famer Dan Marino is usually calm, cool, and collected.
04:50However, in the year 2000, while co-hosting an episode of Inside the NFL on HBO,
04:55the star athlete unexpectedly erupted. After stumbling over his words,
04:59the former Miami Dolphins QB slammed his fists onto the table, surprising those around him.
05:06Playing golf, he told me that defense is blocked.
05:09And judging by the camera's subsequent rapid movements,
05:14it seems Marino even caught the production team off guard.
05:20Marino later apologized for the so-called tantrum,
05:23but fans got a rare glimpse at his fiery side during this fateful broadcast.
05:28Number 25. Macho man slaps Torrey Wilson. WCW Monday Nitro.
05:35Yes, we're fully aware of pro wrestling's scripted nature,
05:38but that doesn't mean real incidents of anger don't take place.
05:43During a live 1999 broadcast of WCW's Monday Nitro,
05:48Randy Macho Man Savage crossed a serious line in a chaotic backstage segment.
05:56It's here that Savage slapped then-newcomer Torrey Wilson. Reports suggest that Savage was
06:02genuinely upset with Torrey for smiling and laughing during the segment, which was intended
06:07to be portrayed in a serious, confrontational tone. WCW would go on to face major backlash
06:14from within, as executives in attendance were said to be furious about what they'd seen.
06:19Number 24. Mike Tyson loses it on Canadian TV. CP24. Mike Tyson has long been known as one of
06:27the most unpredictable figures to appear on live television. Even so, in 2014, the famed boxer made
06:33an appearance on Canada's CP24 news channel to promote a speaking engagement. But when host
06:40Nathan Downer brought up Tyson's past convictions, and how his endorsement of then-Mayor Rob Ford
06:46might interfere in his election race, Iron Mike snapped.
06:49I don't have no comment to that, you know, because it's negative, and you're being negative,
06:54and I met the mayor, and nothing they can do about it.
06:59Launching into an expletive-laden tirade live on air, Tyson repeatedly cursed at the host.
07:04Is it nerve-wracking for you to do something like this,
07:06or is it more nervous for you to box? How does it compare?
07:09I don't know. It's more nerve-wracking for me to hear him talking to a rat piece of s**t,
07:15like, oh, come on, Mike.
07:16No, because you're a piece of s**t.
07:18All right.
07:19We're gonna wrap up this interview. Thank you for coming.
07:23As noted, this wasn't the only time Tyson's temper was explosive on live TV,
07:28but more on that later.
07:29Number 23.
07:31Bill Maher kicks out audience members. Real time with Bill Maher.
07:35With a list of rules laid out ahead of time, live studio audiences are mostly well-behaved.
07:41That wasn't the case during an episode of HBO's Real Time with Bill Maher, however.
07:45We'd be able to attack this very bad disease that's attacking us.
07:51While Bill was talking with U.S. Representative Sheila Jackson Lee,
07:55a group from the audience started loudly yelling.
07:58Sometimes here at CBS, I wish the sound wasn't working.
08:01At first, Lee and Maher simply looked at them in amusement and tried to carry on.
08:06But when they kept shouting, Bill jumped out of his chair,
08:09marched into the audience, and personally helped security eject them.
08:13Do I have to come over and kick this guy's ass out of here?
08:18Did you get the f*** out of my building?
08:21Hey, hey, hey, hey, ouch, ouch.
08:24The incident showed Maher's absolute refusal to let his show be hijacked.
08:29I'll kick your ass out of here too.
08:31Number 22.
08:32Danny Bonaduce slams Johnny Fairplay. Reality really awards.
08:37What do you get when you cross the unpredictability of award shows with the volatility of reality TV?
08:42That would be this bizarre train wreck from the 2007 Fox Reality Really Awards.
08:48It was here that notorious survivor villain,
08:50Johnny Fairplay, got way more than he bargained for.
08:53You see, after jumping onto Danny Bonaduce,
08:56the actor swiftly flipped Fairplay over, slamming him face first onto the stage.
09:02The impact actually broke several of Johnny's teeth and sent him to the hospital.
09:08As you might imagine, the shocking moment overshadowed the rest of the awards ceremony
09:12and left many jaws on the floor.
09:15Number 21.
09:16Andrew Dice Clay gets hostile. CNN.
09:20When a comedian appears on live TV, you just never know what's going to happen,
09:24especially if it's a comedy.
09:26CNN.
09:27When a comedian appears on live TV, you just never know what's going to happen,
09:31especially if said comedian is known for their provocative humor.
09:35Well, when Andrew Dice Clay appeared on CNN, things got rather ugly.
09:39You were a headline guy.
09:40I'm not a headline guy.
09:42When the anchor referred to Dice as a former headline guy and then asked
09:46what it was like running a gym, an annoyed Clay quickly corrected him.
09:50Running a gym?
09:50Weren't you running a gym at some point?
09:52You're supposed to be a news guy. What are you getting your fucking...
09:54From there, he launched into an expletive-filled tirade,
09:57loudly tearing into the whole production.
09:59Come on, CNN, and the guy don't even know what he's talking about.
10:02A standout moment?
10:03That would be when the anchor awkwardly tried to transition to the next segment
10:07while Dice continued shouting and swearing off-camera.
10:10Go fuck yourself, you know what?
10:12All right.
10:13I'll fuck your network.
10:14We'll go back to talking about our carny.
10:18Number 20.
10:19Sam Jackson gets confused for Lawrence Fishburne.
10:22KTLA Morning Show.
10:24KTLA anchor Sam Rubin welcomed actor Samuel L. Jackson via satellite
10:29for what could have been a normal interview.
10:31Everything seemed to be going smoothly
10:33until the newscaster asked Jackson about his recent Super Bowl commercial.
10:38I tell you what, you working for Marvel, the Super Bowl commercial,
10:41did you get a lot of reaction to that Super Bowl commercial?
10:45What Super Bowl commercial?
10:46Since that particular ad actually starred Lawrence Fishburne,
10:50Jackson immediately started dunking on the anchor for his egregious gaffe.
10:54You're the entertainment reporter?
10:56I know.
10:56You're the entertainment reporter for this station?
10:59Vlog.
10:59And you don't know the difference between me and Lawrence Fishburne?
11:02Although the movie star had been brought on to talk about his film RoboCop,
11:06this error made him focus more on dishing out a verbal beatdown.
11:10Even after they started speaking about the movie,
11:12the actor took an opportunity to pivot back to the mistake.
11:16Do some work.
11:16I won't make the same mistake.
11:17Do some research.
11:18Make sure you don't confuse them with those other white actors.
11:23This is a well-deserved spanking. Thank you for it.
11:25Number 19. Floyd Mayweather fights back.
11:28Sports Center
11:30In 2009, boxer Floyd Mayweather was undefeated
11:33and ready to talk about his career for a Sports Center interview.
11:37Unfortunately, host Brian Kenney struck a nerve with Mayweather right away.
11:42The boxer took umbrage with Kenney's assertion that he was a former number one.
11:46The former number one pound for pound fighter in the world,
11:49Floyd Mayweather.
11:50Floyd, welcome back. We've missed you, Floyd.
11:53Hey, how you doing? I'm not no former number one pound for pound fighter.
11:56I'm just saying I'm the best fighter in the sport of boxing.
11:59But that was only round one of this painful interview.
12:02Throughout the conversation,
12:04Mayweather ducked the many of the presenter's most biting questions.
12:08So they didn't want you to face Pacquiao right away?
12:10I'm not ducking and dodging nobody. You know what it is.
12:14No, what is it? It's Bob Arum?
12:15I got a list. Whenever it happens, it happens.
12:18And when he wasn't directly answering,
12:20the boxer was ready to verbally spar with Kenney at every point.
12:24The anchor's attempts to take control of the interview only led to more chaos.
12:29By the time their conversation ended,
12:31it's clear that Mayweather had dominated another tense matchup.
12:35Once again, we're talking to Brian Kenney, a man of many traits, a master of nothing.
12:40Number 18. Ben Affleck Debates Bill Maher and Sam Harris
12:44Real Time With Bill Maher
12:46During an episode of Real Time With Bill Maher,
12:48the host and author Sam Harris got to talking about Islam.
12:52When they started making critical statements and broad generalizations
12:56about the Muslim religion, an angry Ben Affleck stepped in.
12:59The people who would actually believe in an act that you murder somebody if they
13:03believe in Islam is not the majority of Muslims at all.
13:06The famous actor kept challenging the host and the author
13:09not to see everyone who believes in the faith in one negative way.
13:12As Affleck threw out statistics and made impassioned arguments, he only grew angrier.
13:18Yet somehow we're exempted from these things
13:20because they're not really a reflection of what we believe in. We did it by accident.
13:24Although he tried to stay silent,
13:26he jumped back in whenever another broad characterization of the faith was made.
13:31Ultimately, this moment went viral for the performer's forceful presence in a tense debate.
13:36Question is the degree to which you're willing to say,
13:38because I've witnessed this behavior, which we all object to on the part of these people,
13:43I'm willing to flatly condemn those of you I don't know and I've never met.
13:47Number 17. Andy Kaufman Gets Slapped
13:50Late Night With David Letterman
13:52So it's come to this, hasn't it, Andy? You want Jerry to apologize.
13:56Now is this the way, would that be an equitable thing as far as you're concerned?
13:59I don't think so.
14:00Comedian Andy Kaufman's appearance on Late Night With David Letterman was the stuff of legend.
14:05Prior to the interview, Kaufman lost a match so badly against professional wrestler Jerry Lawler
14:11that the funnyman had to wear a neck brace. Letterman thought it would be a great idea
14:15to bring them both together on his show. However, they both got heated during the
14:19course of this joint interview.
14:21I could have sued you. I could have sued you for everything you're worth.
14:23Well, I didn't because I'm not that kind of a guy.
14:25Yeah, you know what kind of a guy are you?
14:28After their conversation reached a fever pitch, Lawler struck Kaufman.
14:32The comedian later stormed back on set to shout many profanities and toss at least one drink.
14:38It was eventually revealed that the whole confrontation was staged.
14:41However, this freakout still represented one of the most talked-about moments in talk show history.
14:47I am sorry. I am sorry to use those words on television. I apologize to all my fans.
14:52I'm sorry. I'm sorry.
14:53Number 16. Sinead O'Connor Rips the Pope's Picture
14:57Saturday Night Live
14:58Sinead O'Connor appeared on Saturday Night Live for the second time in 1992.
15:03During this appearance, she performed an acapella version of Bob Marley's song,
15:07War. O'Connor finished the stirring cover in shocking fashion by ripping up a picture
15:12of Pope John Paul II. She also made a comment that referenced the Catholic Church's scandals.
15:18Fight the real enemy.
15:21After O'Connor made this controversial statement, she faced a ton of backlash.
15:25SNL also banned her from returning to the show at all.
15:29And permanently discredited and abandoned.
15:37Decades after the incident, interviews with the late singer confirmed that she had no
15:41regrets about ripping up that photo.
15:44Number 15. Kanye's Rant on Ellen
15:47The Ellen DeGeneres Show
15:49Over the years, Kanye West has become a celebrity who is often outspoken at the
15:53most unexpected times. His interview with Ellen DeGeneres was yet another example of
15:58him talking without a filter. After answering a few questions and letting some colorful
16:03language slip, West decided to let everyone in on all the things on his mind.
16:08We have to fight. We're creating new shapes in the world every day and,
16:13you know, we're under attack constantly by conventional opinion.
16:16He covered a wide range of topics from his career aspirations to his spirituality.
16:21Kanye's detour goes on for so long that parts of it didn't even make it to the episode.
16:26People never write, Kanye's pissing everybody off, Kanye's making so much,
16:30they try to position it through the media in some way.
16:34While DeGeneres managed to take back control, the show was completely in his hands for a while.
16:39Ye never made a return to the now-defunct talk show,
16:42but he has kept up his outspoken streak across other platforms.
16:46I didn't take it as a joke. It ain't no joke, as Rakim said. It ain't no joke.
16:53Are you still at the Mike Smoke?
16:55Number 14. Mike Tyson drops a few F-bombs. UPN9, WWOR.
17:01You take into the ring a lot of rage. Does that work for you or does it work against you at times?
17:10You know, who cares? We're in a fight anyway. What does it matter?
17:14Note to journalists everywhere, be careful how you phrase your questions to Mike Tyson
17:18in an interview. The heavyweight champ got a reputation as a brilliant fighter
17:23who has little patience for anyone who upsets him. When presenter Russ Salzberg
17:28asked about Tyson's upcoming bout in one infamous interview, the boxer immediately dropped a word
17:33that the censors would not like. Although the interviewer tried to rein in the fighter's
17:38language and focus on the upcoming event, it was already far too late.
17:42Mike, why do you have to talk like that?
17:44Well, I'm talking to you the way I want to talk to you.
17:47Do you have a problem? Turn off your station.
17:49Tyson continued to curse until Salzberg moved to end the discussion.
17:53Unfortunately for the station, the boxer got a few last words in as the segment ended.
17:58You know what? I think we'll end the discussion right now.
18:01Then we could.
18:03You got it. Have a nice fight, Mike.
18:05Number 13. Asia Davies vs. Cardi B, Love & Hip Hop, New York.
18:10When did you start to have a problem with her, if you were supporting her music?
18:14Yeah, when you had a problem with me.
18:16Even before the Love & Hip Hop, New York reunion show aired,
18:19tensions were simmering between rapper Cardi B and her cast member Asia Davies.
18:23Their conflict finally boiled over in front of a live studio audience.
18:27Without warning, Cardi B launched a shoe at Davies.
18:30The stage quickly erupted into chaos right after the footwear was launched.
18:34Relax, relax, relax.
18:37We're going to put a little more distance between you guys so we can have this conversation.
18:41After a few tense moments, the crew put distance between the women.
18:44But their conversation didn't get much better.
18:47When Davies hit another nerve, Cardi B tried to lunge towards her rival again
18:52before security stepped in.
18:53Putting these two in the same room was a recipe for disaster and infamous TV.
18:58I had a reason.
18:59No, I had a reason.
19:00I had a reason.
19:01What was the reason?
19:02I had a reason.
19:02What was the reason?
19:03I had a reason.
19:04What was the reason?
19:05Number 12.
19:06Vince McMahon vs. Bob Costas.
19:08On The Record With Bob Costas.
19:10Take a look at the tape when you play it back.
19:12How many times did Bob Costas interrupt Vince McMahon before he let him answer the question?
19:16Just to try to keep you on point.
19:17Go ahead.
19:18WWE chairman Vince McMahon co-created the alternative football league called the XFL.
19:23Its first and only season was marred in controversy,
19:27poor ratings, and criticism from other sports broadcasters like Bob Costas.
19:32Costas welcomed McMahon onto his On The Record show to address his plan for the league.
19:37By the end of the interview,
19:38it had devolved into a series of vague threats from the wrestling boss.
19:42You want to let me finish here for a second, pal?
19:44I'm asking you the question.
19:45Then coach, shut your mouth and let me answer the question, all right?
19:48I'll be happy to answer.
19:49He leaned forward and pointed in the host's face for extra emphasis.
19:54Not only did the outburst hurt the then-CEO's reputation,
19:57it signaled the end of the XFL.
20:00It's HBO. It's live. There's no commercials.
20:04And it's like 27, 28 minutes, most of which is unremitting tension.
20:08Number 11.
20:09Nicki Minaj confronts Miley Cyrus.
20:1232nd Video Music Awards.
20:18Nicki Minaj accepted the award for best hip-hop video at the 2015 VMAs.
20:23Instead of ending her speech with a thank you,
20:25she took aim at the show's host, Miley Cyrus.
20:28Minaj claimed that the singer had disrespected her in an interview.
20:32After winning a Moon Man,
20:33the rapper wasn't afraid to let the host know how she felt.
20:36Back to this bitch that had a lot to say about me the other day in the press.
20:41Miley, what's good?
20:43Her stern change of tone sucked all the air out of the room.
20:46Instead of escalating the situation,
20:48Cyrus tried to downplay the incident and keep the show rolling.
20:52While it's debatable if that was the most shocking part of the VMAs that year,
20:56it was definitely the point where Minaj made her feelings known.
20:59So here are the nominees still vying for your vote.
21:03Congratulations, Nicki.
21:05Number 10.
21:06Crispin Glover almost kicks Dave.
21:08Late Night with David Letterman.
21:14All right, then we'll just drop that and go on to something else, all right?
21:18Crispin Glover's unique and idiosyncratic behavior
21:21has led to him being at the center of several shocking incidents.
21:25One appearance on Late Night with David Letterman
21:27demonstrated his ability to shock and induce laughter in equal parts.
21:31Glover took the stage in a wig and costume that may or may not have been a complete joke.
21:37Letterman played along with the actor's strange performance as best he could.
21:41I don't have these.
21:42You seem to be distraught.
21:43They don't.
21:44You seem to be distraught.
21:44People try to make me sound a lot weird and I'm just, I'm strong.
21:49However, the host lost his patience after Glover unleashed his best high kick.
21:54After cutting the segment short, Letterman returned without the actor sitting next to him.
21:58The host made it known that he wasn't a fan of how the interview went down.
22:01I would have loved to chatted more with Crispin Glover, but
22:05I understand he had a cab to catch and well...
22:08Number 9.
22:09Jim Everett gets his revenge.
22:11Talk 2.
22:12Quarterback Jim Everett appeared as a guest on Jim Rome's Talk 2 sports program.
22:17The host made a joke by calling the athlete Chris,
22:19referring to the tennis player Chris Everett.
22:22Check that, Chris Everett, good to have you on the show.
22:24You know what?
22:25You know, you've been calling me that for about the last five years.
22:28About two years actually, Chris.
22:30The guest leaned in and warned Rome about calling him the name again.
22:33However, the presenter decided to push his luck and make the lame joke one more time.
22:38But if you call me Chris Everett to my face one more time...
22:41I already did it twice.
22:42You better, you call one more time, we better take a station break.
22:45Everett promptly leapt at his interviewer and knocked him to the ground.
22:49After the incident, the host regretted how he had treated his guest.
22:53In the immediate aftermath,
22:54Everett doubled down and expressed his negative feelings towards Rome.
22:58Just to put me in that type of situation when I'm trying to accommodate his show,
23:02I think was totally uncalled for.
23:04Number 8.
23:05Joan Rivers storms off.
23:07CNN.
23:08Even with your fashion critiquing, while it's very mean in some ways...
23:12It's not mean, it's not mean, it's not mean.
23:15During a CNN interview,
23:17this legendary comedian didn't exactly get along with her interviewer, Frederica Whitfield.
23:21Joan Rivers was initially okay with being asked about her fashion opinions and comedy.
23:26But the conversation got incredibly awkward after Whitfield questioned
23:30the fashion police star about wearing fur.
23:32Feeling that the discussion had gotten too negative,
23:35Rivers didn't hold back her true feelings.
23:37All you have done is negative.
23:39All you have done is negative.
23:41I haven't heard ne-
23:43I made people laugh for 50 years.
23:45I am put on earth to make people laugh.
23:47After railing at the line of questioning, she decided to make an early exit.
23:51Whitfield was left stunned after Rivers cut the interview off.
23:55While the late comedian wasn't afraid to talk about other controversial topics,
23:59fur was clearly a subject she didn't want to touch that day.
24:02Well, Rivers didn't return to the interview, but off camera,
24:06she kept her microphone on as she continued to talk and
24:10drop some rather unflattering four-letter words.
24:137. Bobcat Trashes Arsenio's Set
24:16The Arsenio Hall Show
24:28Bobcat Goldthwait took his crazy comic persona to a whole new level
24:33when he made an appearance on The Arsenio Hall Show.
24:35The eccentric performer spray-painted the set and treated the stage like a wrestling ring.
24:40Protesting the show's untimely demise,
24:43the comedian destroyed the space in support of the host.
24:46It also deserved mentioning how the emcee maintained his trademark cool
24:50all the way through the segment.
24:51There weren't many hosts that could stay positive and focused for this kind of crazy interview.
24:57Even if it was all for fun, the performer still startled everyone with his behavior.
25:01Goldthwait's performance art brought Arsenio Hall's original run to a surprising end.
25:076. Mariah Carey's New Year's Eve Disaster
25:15Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve
25:17During the 2017 New Year's Eve festivities, Mariah Carey's act didn't go as planned.
25:22While trying to deliver a concert, audio problems threw the performance for a loop.
25:27The issues caused Carey to publicly criticize the technical failures as the event continued.
25:33Just drop me now.
25:34Mariah said she couldn't hear her tracks because of a faulty earpiece.
25:38We're missing some of this logo, but it is what it is.
25:41Although she initially tried to continue, the singer couldn't regain her mojo.
25:46Carey alternated between complaining and walking through the motions
25:49until she couldn't stand it anymore.
25:51No matter what caused the issues that she faced that night,
25:54it was clear that she couldn't recover from what happened behind the scenes.
25:57The shaken songstress ending her six-minute performance, leaving the stage quickly.
26:02I just don't get any better.
26:045. Nicolas Cage Goes Nuts
26:07Wogan
26:08I'm sorry, man. I just had all that workout over there.
26:10I know, yeah, yeah.
26:11Well, it's warm in here tonight.
26:12Nicolas Cage emerged in the 1980s as one of the most entertaining performers in movie history.
26:18On the Wogan talk show, he proved that he can be just as wild in person as he can on the silver
26:24screen. He quickly showed off acrobatic and martial arts moves shortly after his arrival.
26:29Welcome Nicolas Cage.
26:38Cage also made it rain with dollar bills for the audience.
26:41However, Cage wasn't done.
26:43He later removed his shirt and kept it up for the remainder of the interview.
26:47Although his appearance was in line with his energetic public persona,
26:51the actor later acknowledged that it was a bit over the top.
26:54He would later channel some of the energy from this interview
26:57in his meta role for the unbearable weight of massive talent.
27:054. Charlie Sheen Is Winning
27:08Good morning, America.
27:09Your passion is coming off as erratic.
27:11Right, well, you borrow my brain for five seconds and just be like, dude, can't handle it.
27:16After Charlie Sheen openly ran into issues with his substance use disorder
27:20and engaged in a few public feuds, he lost his job on Two and a Half Men.
27:25The actor decided to discuss his troubles in an interview with Good Morning America.
27:29What could have been a normal discussion quickly became an infamous conversation.
27:33I'm bi-winning. I win here and I win there. Now what?
27:37During the interview, Sheen gives surprisingly casual answers about serious questions.
27:42He also delivered a number of unique words and phrases that would later be
27:46parodied and made into memes. After this troubling and chaotic interview,
27:51no one would look at Sheen quite the same way.
27:54I just have a different constitution, I have a different brain,
27:55I have a different heart, I have a different, you know, I get Tiger Blood, man.
27:583. Will Smith Slaps Chris Rock, 94th Academy Awards
28:04Will and Jada Pinkett Smith sat front row as comedian Chris Rock took the stage at the 94th
28:10Academy Awards. During one part of the comedian's bit, he joked about the actress' shaved head.
28:15Although Will Smith initially laughed at the joke, his demeanor quickly changed.
28:20He shocked everyone by proceeding to get up and slap Rock.
28:31After returning to his seat, Smith unleashed a few bleep-worthy threats. While some initially
28:36thought it was a big joke, it was soon revealed that the entire incident was incredibly real.
28:41The incident felt even more surreal when Smith won the Best Actor Award later in the night.
28:46Although it should have been a celebration of a great achievement,
28:49his actions cast a long shadow over his win.
28:52You gotta be able to have people talk crazy about you.
28:57In this business, you gotta be able to have people disrespecting you.
29:022. Kanye Snubs Taylor, 26th MTV Video Music Awards
29:08And the Moon Man for Best Female Video goes to Taylor Swift.
29:16Every MTV fan remembers where they were when Kanye West spoke out during the 2009 VMAs.
29:23It all started when Taylor Swift beat out Beyoncé for Best Female Video of the Year.
29:28During Swift's acceptance speech, Kanye took the stage, stole the mic, and protested the decision.
29:34Yo Taylor, I'm really happy for you. I'm gonna let you finish.
29:39But Beyoncé had one of the best videos of all time.
29:42Everybody at home and in the audience was completely stunned by the rapper's actions.
29:47The incident was highly covered by news outlets and even prompted a response from President Obama.
29:53In the years since the interruption, West and Swift publicly clashed several more times.
29:58But it's doubtful that any dispute could reach the heights of infamy that the VMA incident did.
30:04It was one of the most cringeworthy moments in award show history.

30:30During the promotional tour of War of the Worlds,
30:33action star Tom Cruise stopped by the talk show to discuss the movie.
30:37However, the conversation quickly shifted to his relationship with Katie Holmes.
30:41While Cruise tried to contain his excitement about her, he eventually couldn't rein in his emotions.
30:46It all builds up to the moment where the only way he could fully convey his true feelings
30:50was by jumping on top of Oprah's couch.
30:53We've never seen you behave this way before.
30:55I know.
30:56Have you ever felt this way before?
30:58No.
30:59This infamous leap has been parody and reference to death since it aired.
31:09Although Cruise split with Holmes later on,
31:11this interview moment will likely forever be remembered as one of the wildest celebrity
31:16interviews.
31:18I'm not gonna pretend.
